{friday 5}

Hi and Happy Friday!  Raise your hand if you’re as happy as I am for FRIDAY!  I have been so inspired lately, it’s the best feeling.  Only problem – not enough time in the day to make it all happen.  I went to TJ’s and grabbed all the goodies to work on a fun Thanksgiving DIY to share next week.  Although, my heart + mind are 100% on Christmas.  Since I’m hosting turkey day, I have to slow my roll….for a minute.  Would it be weird to eat turkey with a Christmas tree in the living room?  Ha!  Just kidding.  I’ll wait till the day after!  Weekend plans: sleep-in (if only till past 5am) watch my nephew play in his championship football game #gobenny!  Take our Christmas card picture (they’re normally already ordered by now…who am I) Check out the Pixie Traders Vintage Market…more on that below!  And dinner with friends.

Have a good one friends!

5 things on my mind……

FRIDAY sweatshirt

ONE – FRIDAY // When you find your second favorite F-word on a sweatshirt.  You buy that fucker.  I went to J.Crew Factory earlier this week and it fell in my shopping bag.  So, I had to take it home.  It’s $30 today with code: 2DAYSONLY!  Grab one and let’s be Friday twins Ha!  I also found a shit-ton of other really cute tops + sweaters + vests too.  I’ll be sharing once I get them all linked up for you!

TWO – Egg White Frittata // It’s easy.  It’s clean.  It’s delicious.  This was my go-to breakfast this week on my sugar cleanse.  It re-heats so well too.  Top with some hot sauce + avocado.  BOMB!  Serve over roast sweet potatoes…even bomb-er.  Try it over the weekend, okay?!?!

Egg White Frittata

  • Servings: 2
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print

img_3184

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 3 mushrooms, sliced
  • handful fresh spinach
  • 1 cup egg beaters (or egg whites)
  • everything but the bagel seasoning
  • parmesan cheese
  • hot sauce

Here’s what you do:

Preheat oven to boil.

Spray your frying pan with non-stick spray.  Avocado oil is my jam right now, but any will do the trick.

Add mushrooms and cook for about 3 minutes, flip half way through.

Add spinach and cook till wilted.

Whisk egg beaters or whites till frothy and sprinkle with everything but the bagel seasoning.  Pour over veggies.  Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

Don’t touch the eggs.  Even though you want to.  Once they start to look set, gently run a spatula around the rim.

Transfer frying pan to oven and boil for 2-3 minutes.

Once eggs are puffed, they are DONE!

Remove and add more parmesan….you can NEVER have too much cheese 🙂

Cut frittata into 4 wedges.  Top with hot sauce.  Add some avocado if you’re feeling fancy.

Enjoy!

Garland Eucalyptus Pinecone

{all the things // target hearth + hand}

Today is going to be a fine day. I’ve been writing down 5 thing each morning that I’m grateful for.  Obviously health, home, food + water…always number one.

But what really put the extra pep in my step today…

Getting my hair done last night.  Blonde af + a fresh blunt cut can really make this girls day!!  Thanks Allison!

Pulling out all my Christmas tubs.  You should have seen the look on Cory’s face when I asked him to put up the outdoor light today.  He’s a man of many faces, but this one is my favorite.  It’s a mix of confusion and disgust.  And it straight up kills me.  He said not till after Thanksgiving.  I think we settled with, I promise not to plug them in till after Thanksgiving.  Fair….I think!

Hopping on the scale this morning and I’ve lost 4 lbs since Sunday!  #sugarcleanse shared all the details on the blog yesterday {on wednesdays we wear pink}

Bay kissing me goodbye at the middle school drop off line ♥

And last, but certainly not least – The holiday Hearth + Hand collection at Target. Thanks to everyone that voted….I went with the eucalyptus garland.

And today I’m sharing ALL THE THINGS I fell in love with at good ol Target!

Just a warning – Target is very, very dangrous this time of year…lol!

I spent wayyy more time than I like to admit at Target lately.   Here’s a few things I’ve picked up so far.  And everything I’ve got my eye on!

Happy Halloween!  It’s been a full month of all things orange + black + spooky!  We’ve baked.  We’ve decorated (twice).  Pumpkins are carved.  Pumpkin seeds roasted…(my mom’s best batch yet)  Bay DIY’d her costume.

The only thing left…Trick-Or-Treating!

Which is probably my least favorite part of the Holiday..lol!  The kids favorite, the adults…not so much.

img_1908

But, I realized today – this could possibly be that last time my girl dresses up for Halloween.  I was honestly unsure she was even going to be up for it this year.  I think the whole DIY costume really got her in the spirit.  Or the bribes?  HA!

Either way, we are going to Trick-Or-Treat our asses off tonight.  In the dark.  In the cold.  With strangers giving our kids candy.

I will have a wine in hand, though so I can’t complain too much.

Here’s to our kids ending up with shit-tons of Reese’s!  CHEERS!!!

It’s Friday.  I got a job.  And I’ve got a shit-ton to do.  Ha!  But, I don’t have a single plan for the whole damn weekend.  You guys, I’m going to drink coffee on my couch in my PJ’s tomorrow morning.  And again Sunday morning too.  It’s been so long.  And maybe a little day-date with my girl.  Nephews football game.  Meal prep.  Outfit prep.  Done!  Oh, I did splurge and grab some extra wine.  So, I’ll be gettin tips too!  I almost forgot… the one thing I’m most looking forward to (other than drinking wine + coffee obvi) shampooing the seats in my car…Ha!  It’s the little things peeps.  Have a great weekend friends.

Before I let you go……

Let’s chat about 5 things on my mind real quick!

ONE – A Star Is Born // Oh man everyone keeps saying how great the new Gaga + Bradley Cooper movie is.  I have my fingers crossed I can sneak away at some point and go see it.  For those of you that have seen it….on a scale from 1 to 10.  How good is it?

You can watch the movie trailer here: A Star Is Born movie trailer

Threshold Decorative Basket Natural with leather strap

TWO – Target Basket // Posted a photo of the basket I found at Target yesterday.  You guys clearly liked it as much as I did.  My ShopStyle account as of this morning showed 5 basket orders.  BIG thank you to all of you for clicking on my affiliate links and placing orders.  Today, my first ShopStyle check posted for $47 and I’m fucking giddy…lol.

I found inspo image with a similar hanging basket for my girlfriend Nicole.  She has the best front porch.  She picked up the Target basket yesterday and I can’t wait to see how she styles it!

{fall table setting + DIY succulent pumpkin}

img_7559

Hi friends.  Thanks to having Monday off…this week is flying by.  Bay was home sick yesterday.  Luckily she’s back to her spunky self today.  I cleared our calendar for the week.  Skipped things I/we probably shouldn’t.  Just to straight up stay at home!  We never, ever do this.  But, it felt necessary.  You should try it…just saying.

Our house is all set for Fall.  Yesterday’s morning rain storm gave me all the feels.  But, then it got hot AF and I had to turn the AC on…lol.

Let’s chat about our Fall table.  You know I have a thing for a set table.  Well, I do!

img_7557

A beautifully set table makes any meal feel like a special occasion.  And yes, we 100% sit at this table and eat dinner every night.  I pick  up the place settings and move them to the side.  Then put them back in place when we’re done.  It takes maybe 2 minutes out of my day, so I don’t mind it one bit.  Someday, when I grow up (lol)  I dream of having a big long formal dining table.  It will be set year round.  With all the pretty things I can find!

img_7565

This year I planned the table all around this show stopper.  My succulent pumpkin.  Real succulents.  Spanish moss.  Eucalyptus.  All spread over the top of a real pumpkin.  Keep scrolling and you’ll find the DIY below.  I even figured out how to make a printable version, which knocked my own socks off Ha!

img_7563

My everyday gold flatware.  Linen napkins.  Gold rimmed stemless wine glasses.

Pulled out my trusty gold-rimmed white dishes too.  Bet you can’t guess where I bought them?

img_7561

I scored these dishes from the Dollar Store.  Last Christmas.

img_7556

The Target dollar spot had rolls of boxwood garland for $3.  I picked up one.  Which made each wreath place setting and chair backers.

I was inspired to use mini white pumpkins and wreaths after seeing Karen of Serendipity Boutique’s table setting at her own home.  Simple + clean + festive.

I picked up the gold leaf garland that is strewn down the center of the table from Serendipity Boutique too.  For $12.  I think it would look so pretty across a mantle.

{friday 5}

Hello FRIDAY!  And good morning from the Oregon coast.

Five things on my mind….

ONE – Portland // I woke up in Portland this morning.  Cory planned + booked this trip for us all on his own.  The planner in me wasn’t too sure how I felt about it at first..lol.  But, we’re here and we’ve got so many fun things planned for the next couple of days.  Today we’re off to Cannon Beach.  Goonies never say die!  It’s been on my bucket list for years and I’m so happy we’re finally checking it off the list.  But first breakfast cocktails. Morning mules. Stay tuned for a shit-ton of Portland pics 🙂

img_7552

TWO – Centerpiece // Sneak peek at my Fall Table.  Which is coming next week.  I created another pumpkin + succulent centerpiece.  Back in October 2015, I shared the DIY.  {friday 5} Going back 3 years on this blog is really crazy FYI!  Anyway, its super simple.  And I got tons of questions about it.  I will go into more detail next week, but you really just need a pumpkin + succulents + moss + glue gun.  That’s it!

{diy flag luminaries + fruit pizza}

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!

Enjoy your family + friends today!

If you’re looking for a fun + festive little craft to make with your kiddos, I’ve got it!  Flag luminaries!

Bay + I whipped up three of these 4th of July luminaries in about 5 minutes.  They are gorgeous once you stick a candle in them!

And Bay’s sharing a super easy fruit pizza.  Think sugar cookies + cream cheese frosting + berries!  It perfectly festive!  And perfectly easy for littles to assemble too!

IMG_9022.PNG

DIY Flag Luminaries //

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • pickle jars (or mason jars)
  • american flags
  • scotch tape
  • mod podge
  • sponge paint brush
  • twine
  • glue
  • candle

IMG_8892

I used pickle jars for this fun DIY.  I measured the flags with all the jars in my house and found the pickle jars were the perfect size.  No need to cut the flag.  GG had some laying around that I was able to take off her hands.  Any jar will do the trick.

If your jars have labels, just soak them in warm water + dish soap.  You’ll bed able to remove them pretty easily.

Scored the 3-pack of American Flags in the dollar spot at Target.  3 flags for a buck, you can’t beat that.  Carefully remove the flags from the wooden sticks.

Tape the American Flags to the jars.  This will help keep them in place.

IMG_8893

Using the foam paint brush, apply a coat of mod podge over the top of the flag.  Wait 20 minutes and repeat with a second coat.  Remove scotch tape.

Allow to dry overnight.

IMG_8894

Add twine or ribbon to the top and add a dab of glue to keep the twine in place.

Stick a candle and you’re good to go.

IMG_9020.JPG

I love coming up with fun festive crafts to make with items I have on hand.  Or can pick-up from the dollar spot!

{summer to-do’s}

IMG_7800.PNG

Hey Girl,

Consider today the OFFICIAL kick off to summer.  Happy Summer Solstice!

Summer’s here!  Which means it’s time to take a deep breath and savor everything the season has to offer.  In your happy place.  Whether that means sitting by the ocean.  Camping under the stars.  Sipping rosé in your own backyard.  Dinning al fresco.  Gardening!

You know I love a good seasonal to-do list by now.  I couldn’t be more excited to write down ALL THE THINGS we’re planning to try out this summer.

Because in the end, memories aren’t made by sitting around waiting for them to happen, but from when you get out and live.

{money + candy lei diy}

IMG_6899.PNG

Happy Thursday friends.   Yesterday I shared a little sneak peek of my newest DIY project  on ista stories and my DM’s blew up.  So, I powered through last night to get Bay’s 6th grade promotion money + candy lei done just in time to share with you all today!

Not going to lie, I was originally planning on surprising Bay with the lei tomorrow.  Instead I recruited her to help…lol.

The lei is easy to make.   Promise.  But, if you, like me, are feeling maxed out this week.  Skip it!  “Pin” it and save it for later.  Easy, yes!  Time consuming, also YES!

But the end results, #priceless!

Let’s break it down……

First off – you need crisp brand new $1 bills.  Go to Yolo Federal Credit Union.  Call first.  I hit up 4 banks in Davis and got denied by them all.  Never knew getting your hands on some new bills was such a big deal.  BIG thanks to my Mom for suggesting Yolo Federal and grabbing them for me!  Always saving my ass + the day!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 30-40 $1 bills (crisp + new)
  • 10 feet curing ribbon
  • Scotch tape
  • Candy (Party City has the best selection of single pieces for cheap)
  • Scissors

IMG_6652.JPG

I bought this dress for an event.  Otherwise, I would have no place to wear it.  Ha!  I’m not a big get super dressed up type.

It’s like a gown.  Never, I have ever owned a dress like this.  The quality is top-notch.  It’s elegant.  Classic.  The color is so vibrant.  Super faltering silhouette…almost like it was tailored.  The ruffle details are perfectly placed.  And it has pockets!  Basically the ultimate summer statement dress.  Exactly what I was looking for.
