{marbled pumpkin diy}

IMG_2309.JPG

I’m a big fan of no carve pumpkins.  Until, the day before Halloween.  We all know once they are carved…they are dead in a day or so.  Full of bugs.  Stinky.  But I’m still all about making them pretty + festive for Halloween.

Bay’s 4-H club hosts a no carve pumpkin contest every October meeting.  All the pumpkins are then donated to a rest home to be enjoyed.  LOVE this so much.

We had to get to work a little early and get a pumpkin decorated for next week.

These nail polish marbled pumpkins caught my eye.  They were all over social media this week.  I’m sure you saw all the different methods.

Clicked on the link.

F R I D A Y

It’s hot AF…there I said it.  I know I said I wouldn’t, but damnnnn.  I was sweating this morning at 7am getting ready for work.  My AC kicked on before I hopped out of bed.  Don’t even bother looking at the weather forecast….nasty!  But, it’s Friday…thank god.  We are taking off for a quicky trip to see one of our favorite families.  I foresee lots of wine tonight.  Breakfast burritos in the morning.  Some pool time.  And lots of chit-chat.  Hope you have a great weekend planned too!

I’ve got 5 things on my mind…..

ONE – Father’s Day Coupon Book // I don’t know about you, but I’m a total sucker for a cute handmade gift from my kiddo.  Especially when it’s a gift that is full of coupons for extra help around the house and more hugs!  You’ll find…Movie night (of your choice), Breakfast in bed, One bathroom cleaning, etc.  There are a couple of blank coupons too.  You can fill them out or let you’re Dad write in something special.  I didn’t have any colored paper handy, so I printed on white and Bay decorated them by hand.  Handmade, remember 🙂

Say CHEERS to Dad with a frosty cake to help him kick back…lol!  Well done Baskin Robbins.

TheColdCake_Enlarged.jpg

I’m a total sucker and ordered one!  You can even customize the flavor of ice cream and the personal message.  So cute, right? I picked cookies and cream with chocolate cake.  Maybe I really ordered it for myself?  🙂

Use code: BESTDAD for $3.00 off.  Making this cake $16.99!  Not bad!

TWO – Kristin Ess hair care //  Kristin Ess aka the women behind Lauren Conrad’s forever covetable locks.  She released an affordable hair care line for Target.  And obvi I needed it!  I tried for at least 3 weeks after it was first released, back in January (um, this is JUNE).  It was out of stock on-line.  Out of stock at every store within reasonable driving distance.  You guys, the struggle was real, but I finally got my hands on some Kristin Ess The One hair care products.  The scent of the combo is unreal.  Some reported that it was a bit too strong for them.  Bay + I personally dig it big time.  Not to mention it leaves my hair silky smooth, soft + healthy.  And I have to say, on days I plan to curl my hair, I use this duo.  I feel like my hair styles so much better after using these products.

Try it out and let me know what you think!!   It’s only $10 a pop!

You can check out all of her products currently available at Target here:

Kristin Ess The One Signature Shampoo:

The shampoo for pretty much anyone. The thing I love about this formula is it gets your hair super clean but also leaves it feeling moisturized and looking shiny. It’s hard to find a shampoo, particularly a sulfate-free shampoo, that can do both so well.

• For all hair types
• Lightly clarifying
• High lathering
• Safe for daily use
• Sulfate-free

Kristin Ess The One Signature Conditioner:

The conditioner is weightless, softening and it rinses clean. This can be used daily and will not cause build up.  Contains Zip-Up Technology™, our proprietary strengthening complex designed to “zip-up” split ends while targeting weak areas of the hair, smoothing the appearance of damaged cuticles and helping to protect hair from environmental stressors and color fade.  This is meant to soften and smooth the parts of the hair your natural oils can’t reach!

THREE – Creamy Avocado Salsa Verde // I saw this recipe featured on Foodie Crush a couple of weeks ago and thought, damn that looks good.  It’s clean.  It’s no-cook, which makes it a breeze to make.  Throw everything in the food processor and just like that, you’ve got your salsa.  The avocado gives this salsa a creamy texture, which is perfection.  I killed the whole batch in less than a week.  Great dip for veggies + chips.  Burrito bowl topper.  Sandwich spread.  And I even added a little extra virgin olive oil and finished off the last of it as a salad dressing.  It’s good shit!

{slime á la bailey}

Slime is all over the place.  Search “slime” on YouTube and you’ll find over 12 million videos.  Swear!  It’s bigger than ever.  Other than the fidget spinner, that I’m currently stalking Sweet Potato Pie for.  Kids frickin dig it.  Mom’s on the other hand, can’t frickin stand it.  I have to admit, at least she’s not staring at the TV or her iPhone, right?  But, when you find that crap all over the house, which has only happened once (I’m a crazy bitch) It’s over.  I was just chatting with another mama about it this morning and how it’s straight up banned from their house..haha!  I get it!

I’m sure your kiddos have sent you on the wild goose chase for Elmer’s glue and borax?  Don’t lie, you’ve gone to the store at least once for the special ingredients to this crap!?!?  I, myself, have gone multiple times.  I’ll admit it.  I’m a sucker for crafting and making stuff.  Last night, for instance, I went to 4 stores for Elmer’s glue.  WTF?  The shelves are literally wiped out.  You can see where the once not-so-special glue was sitting.  Basically you have to go to the “Slime Headquarters” aka Michael’s!  Trust me Mama’s don’t even waste your time going elsewhere.

{st. patty’s day treats}

March is half over!  It’s Spring!!  At least it’s felt like it for the past few days, but I’m not holding my breath just yet.  Next weeks weather forecast is not in our favor.  WTF Mother Nature?!?!

I recently realized that I kinda love every season.  Equally!  I don’t have a favorite.  There is so much excitement for what each one brings.  Don’t you think?  Right now I’m craving color and the outdoors.  I’ve been working on my yard like a crazy person.  My grass is officially green again!  Whoop Whoop!  My salsa garden is all planned out and waiting for the beginning of April to get everything in the ground.

St. Patrick’s Day is always when it begins to feel more and more like spring is in the air.  Green beers.  Green treats.  Green clothing.  I’m all ready for Friday!  How about you?

What are your St Patty’s Day traditions?  Corned beef and cabbage?  Does the crazy leprechaun visit your house?  Classroom treats?

Here’s what we’ve got up our sleeve for tomorrow……

{i need s’more friends like you}

I am the holiday whore, remember?  I do not buy the cute + super easy store-bought Valentine’s.  You know the ones that your kids actually do themselves?  Haha!  No way Jose!  I’m the bust out the cardstock + cellophane bags + paper-cutter kind of Mom.

As of now, Bay still totally digs it.  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again….one day she will not be caught dead taking these homemade Valentine’s to her school homies.  So, until then, I will make ridiculous Holiday crafts and enjoy every second of it!   ♥

IMG_3844.JPG

I came across these adorable s’more Valentines’s right after scoring a bag of heart-shaped marshmallows from good ol Wally world.  It was meant to be.  I showed Bay and she was on board.

It may look like “screw that shit, ain’t nobody got time for that!”  LOL!  But, trust me – it was pretty simple and inexpensive to bust out 32 of these cuties!
