Just another Magic Monday. Switching it up. Moday’s don’t have to be manic. Let’s make them magic. What do you think? After a full 7 hours of sleep last night (which I never, ever get) I did NOT wake up refreshed and ready for the day. But, instead of thinking about how shitty today could be. I’m turning it around and thinking of all the ways it can me magic. I know, sounds corny, but my mind + heart can make or break my day. So, this is working for me….so far!
Hope you all had a great weekend.
This past weekend was sprinkled with a healthy dose of family + friends + sunshine + relaxation. It was pretty damn good!
Intentions for the Week:
stay on track with Weight Watchers
watch my girls first volleyball game of the season
celebrate my Mom’s birthday
finish decorating for Fall
shoot some new outfits for the blog
purge all my Fall decor

actually start a mini reset…and not just talk about it

plan a Napa day-date with Cory
watch Jenny get married
complement someone different everyday
This week on xoxostacyb: Old Navy Try-On. Fall home refresh. The Mississippi pot roast recipe you’ve all been asking for.
Wow, September is HERE! August was literally a blink of an eye. I’m 100% ready for Fall to begin. I think the excitement of each Season change get’s me so eager for what’s to come. September brings structure and everything falls back into place. Don’t get me wrong, I live for Summer and all it entails, but I’m craving the routine of our new September schedule.
We spent the long weekend at our family cabin in Tahoe. Our final, final beach weekend for the summer. Our last summer hurrah! And man – it was all that. We sat at the beach on Sunday for almost 6 hours and it was pure heaven!
Woke up on the wrong side of the bed and not really ready to take this Monday-est Tuesday by the horns. But, here we go!
Intentions for the Week:
Order a 2020 calendar
Give myself a mani + pedi…I’m thinking RED!
Gather everything for a Fall inspired GIVEAWAY
Make a Mississippi Pot Roast (even thought it’s hot as hell)
Track all my food on the Weight Watchers App
Finalize my Fall front porch
Clean out the fridge
Continue Intermittent fasting
Plan a fun date night
This week on xoxostacyb: new Target finds. Pull out all the things Fall from the archives. And a Fall home refresh.
Monday! New start. New week. I somehow managed to make it to the gym at 5am this morning. Even after a long weekend in Vegas. Truth is, I haven’t made it to the gym on a Monday is about a month. Just like the saying goes “Never skip a Monday” that shit has some truth to it. I’m kicking today’s ass and I know I wouldn’t be if it hasn’t been for the sweat sesh! Going to try and make this a Monday habit!
Viva Las Vegas Baby! We pulled off a helluva surprise for Bay’s BIG 1-3! So much fun. But, man – there is no place like home. My bed never felt better than it did last night!
Intentions for the Week:
get my ass to the gym (everyday this week is my goal)
wine + planning with the Omega Nu “fun committee”
at home mani
celebrate my teenager one last time
get back to packing lunches the night before (such a time saver in the mornings)
clean out my purse + wallet (it’s straight up embarrassing)
try a new recipe
catch up on some much needed sleep
This week on xoxostacyb: celebrating another national day this week. I’ll be sharing a new recipe. Some sales. And maybe, hopefully my fern centerpiece DIY! Stay tuned!
Highlights from the Weekend…..
Somehow we (my mom, sister & I) pulled off the surprise of a lifetime. Back in December I pulled the trigger on 4 George Strait concert tickets. Then asked my mom + sis what they thought about taking Bay for her 13th Birthday. The concert was on her actual 13th birthday!
Friday, August 23rd at 6:30am. the morning of Bay’s 13th birthday, we woke her up with party hats and blowers.
She had 5 minutes to get up, get dressed, brush her teeth and catch our flight.
She was 100% surprised. And I was beginning to think she had an idea that something was up.
Thank you so much for all the sweet messages + texts + comments. Bay loved reading them all. She felt pretty special ❤️
Today was the day. The first day of school! The day some of us (myself) have been secretly praying for…lol! And some dreading. I decided next year we need to have a Woo-Hoo + Boo-Hoo party after drop off. Where we can celebrate or be bummed our kiddos are back in school.
You know, just at a bar preferably. Before everyone gets on with their day.
Bay’s last day first day at Lee Middle School. I was reminded of it, bright and early this morning. Holy shit!
Yes – I let her keep the baby blue acrylic nails. Even though I cringe every time I look at her hands. On one condition – she learns how to spell “remember” Ha!
We always take photos the night before. #momhack. Such a time saver in the morning on the first day! It’s almost like a trial run. What to wear. Does it need ironing. What hairdo. Makeup. All the things. It truly makes the morning of such a breeze.
I, myself, spent about 90% of my day scrolling though all the 1st day photos. I cannot believe how big everyone’s kids are. How grown and mature they all look. Including my girlfriends kids. We’ve had this tradition since pre-school. My girlfriend Sara and I met one year at Raley’s. Mainly because it’s always empty. Each year the group and photo have grown larger + larger. Makes my heart so happy! Thanks for organizing this year Alex! Love to see everyone dressed in their best ready to take on a new school year.
I can hardly believe school starts in TWENTY TWO days! Where did summer go?
As much as I LOVE summer. I have to admit, I’m ready for our regular routine. You know – the one where nobody wants to get out of bed. Then we’re both up fighting over the bathroom. Bumping into each other to brush out teeth. And typically running late. Ha! Don’t you miss that too?
Bailey has opted out of taking zero period this year, so we’ve got some logistics to still work out. The 7:15 am out the door was actually kinda nice last year.
But, what we do have figured out is ALL THE THINGS back to school gear-wise. From backpacks to teen approved lunchboxes. Vans, ONLY vans. Cute tops + accessories that you “NEED”
With the help of my very own 12 year old, we’ve rounded up her top picks for back to school.
You don’t go to Target because you need something. You go to Target and let Target tell you what you need. Am I right? I went in for toilet paper + mascara and left with new leopard 🐆 PJ’s and a mug ☕️😂 didn’t even get the mascara.
All the things I have on my list and all the things I don’t need 🤷🏼♀️
Reentry is no joke. After a week off from work + school for Spring Break, we are back at it today. Not going to lie, I’m strugglin hard. I’m on my 2nd cup of coffee. And I’ve got an iced coffee in my near future. I walked into my office at 7:45 am this morning and instantly felt at home. There is something to be said about routine. Really, really missed mine. Although we had a fucking blast last week.
Intentions for the Week:
Get Timothy + Archie Spring Show ready
Eat healthy AF using my WW app
Drink a shit-ton of water (I don’t think I’ve had any since April 19th)
Start making my bed again (also haven’t made it since April 19th)
Clear out email inboxes (one had over 900 emails…FML)
I LOVE Easter time. Well, I love all Holidays. We have so many fun Easter traditions, which makes this Holiday so fun. I always fill Bay’s basket with all the things summer time. New swimsuit. Beach towel. Goggles. Cute floatie. I pretty much follow what my parents did when I was a kid. Always a swimsuit and saltwater sandals. Oh and lots of candy. You can’t forget the candy! It’s like a Christmas stocking, but with summer stuff. All the fun little goodies.
I used to be able to post all my goodies here, but now I have a tween that likes to read my blog and look at all my photos. And since I want her to be somewhat surprised, I’m going to save her exact basket for Easter morning. I’m sharing all kinds of ideas. Some are in her basket this year. Some I’ve used in previous years. I even got extra and did a boy basket too!
I try to think of things she’s going to need as summer approaches and Spring break rolls around.
