TGIF = Thank Goodness It’s Fall! Cute, huh? Would be better if it were Friday, just saying!
It’s no secret that I LOVE decking out my dining room table. Typically, it’s the first piece I decorate for the Holidays or seasons. Then I gradually work my way from top to bottom of the house. Not leaving anything untouched. It’s just the Holiday Whore in me!
I thought I finished the house for Fall + Halloween. Then, I accidentally hacked into my Sisters Amazon account and primed a shit ton of paper bats. NO clue where they are going to go, but I promise you – It’s gonna be bat-shit fun. Ha!
It’s almost that time. I can smell it. I can feel it. Fall is officially here on September 23rd. Summer is my boo, but I think Fall just might possibly be my #1! Here are some ways that I welcomed Fall to our home. Easy things you can do without spending a ton of money. Just simple touches that make a BIG difference.
Hi friends! It’s been a minute since I shared a fun + easy DIY. More like hours. Weeks. Months. I’ve had this post written and ready to rock + roll and honestly kept forgetting about it. And I think it deserves a dedicated post!
Each Monday on my Intentions for the week, I try to incorporate one of these main goals:
Do or make something with my hands
Some kinds of self care
Something with food, because we all know now – I love cooking
Mixed in with a whole bunch of other random shit that I either want to do or need to do
This Fern Center piece DIY was one of my weekly “do something with my hands!” I swear when I create, DIY, garden, organize….I feel so accomplished. And it literally makes my mood lift times 100.
I mean how can this fern centerpiece not make you smile, at least just a little?
Pre-Drunk! Ha! How many trips to the county fair is too many? Asking for a friend!!
Before I get keg beer tips – I wanted to share 5 things I’m loving this week! Including these $10 shades that I can’t stop rockin. And my top. It’s $23! I found a new candle that smells like Fall and it’s on sale. And for all the Mama’s out there – Free Printable 1st day of School signs for each grade! Cheers to kegs beer and 105 degrees friends!
Weekend plans: We’re hitting up the fair for Demolition Derby + tacos tonight. Again! Ha! Bay + I are volunteering Saturday morning – prepping the fair tacos, since we love them so much! Pool time. Cheers to the Freakin Weekend. Dad’s ready to party on a Friday night.
Father’s Day is right around the corner. I’m talking 10 days ladies. I swear, Father’s Day sneaks up on me every year. And I think we can all agree…..Men are either the easiest to buy for or the very hardest? Am I right? Like, there is NO in between. So, we better hop to it!
Sometimes we overthink things. Don’t stress. It’s not all about the fancy gifts. Sometimes it’s just the thought of planning some quality time. A little extra effort. Especially when it comes from the kiddos. I’m sharing some ideas on how to make Father’s Day extra special.
Plan one of his favorite activities //
Whether you go out to his fave brunch or dinner spot. Maybe the golf course or Top Golf to hit some golf balls. The lake for a day on the water. The local brewery for some beers. Does he like going to the movies? Grab all his top candy + snacks and head to the show. Or the store he loves to shop at. Whatever it is – makes reservations and arrangements ahead of time. That way you can just go and have fun!
Plan a BBQ or brunch //
Pick his number one meal. Breakfast. Brunch. BBQ. Whatever it is….grocery shop and have it all prepped. Have the kids set the table. How cute are they necktie napkins? Super easy to do. I’ll share the DIY below. These menus are the perfect touch. They are customizable do you can add anything you’d like.
Big or small. Something he’d never buy for himself. Or maybe something you know he could use. Have the kids wrap it up with the Sunday newspaper. Make handmade cards. I promise whatever is in the box will put a smile on his face.
I rounded up a bunch of tried + true great items that I think any dad would LOVE.
How adorable are these little bunny butt cookies? Bay helped me make them and I LOVE how they turned out. So simple too. We used a sugar cookie package to make these. Because, sometimes….we just don’t have time to whip out the mixer and make a hot mess. lol.
All you need is your fave sugar cookie recipe. Or a packaged mix. A bunny cookie cutter. I found this one on Amazon after searching all the stores in town (with NO luck) and Amzon delivered in 1 day. Well done Amazon, well done. And a cute dab of frosting for a cotton tail.
This is a great cookie to make with little ones. You can’t mess it up. And they take no time at all. Nothing gets you into the Holiday spirit like a cookie baking day anyway.
