I ran into Nancy and she gave me a quick little tour of the gorgeous kitchen.  Best part, they have a dish washer that washes in 90 second.  Umm, I think I need one!

And a margarita.  I can’t tell you which one was better.  It was a tie!

Get these dates on your calendar and go visit Full Belly Farm for one of their summer pizza nights.  It is a trek, but totally worth it.

Pizzas are $15 each.  We ordered 2 for the three of us and had leftovers.  You can BYO beer + wine.  Set up a picnic and hang out.

I’m now dying to check out one of their Farm Dinners.

Happy first official day of summer (for the kids) School’s out for the summer!  When the weekend blends into the week.  At least for them.  Ha!  We had a super chill weekend.  Just what we wanted + needed.  And we’re following it up with a very mellow week.  I swear one week (last week for example) is a total shit-show, then the next is so nice and relaxing.  What are your kids up to this week?  Camps?  Hanging out?  Bay started Volleyball camp today and absolutely loved it!

Highlights from the weekend…….

Bay’s 6th Grade Promotion //

Not going to lie, we both shed a few tears walking to the car Friday morning.  I told Bay it was the last time she’d walk on the school campus as a student.  Crazy!!!

img_6948

So, Bay got service on her phone.  This was her promotion gift from me.  Honestly it was something that had to happen, considering our summer plans.  We have lots of rules that go along with it, but we’ll chat more about that this week.

IMG_6969

Gram made her the cutest candy sign.  Bay is a total candy freak FYI!

IMG_6996.JPG

We spend the afternoon doing this!  At 93, GG is still a damn good time!

Have you ever tried Baskin Robin Polar Pizza?  Do it!  Scroll to the bottom of this link and get a $2 off coupon

IMG_6994.jpg

I made not one, but two of these pretty fruit trays.  Think I can sell these things?  Make a business out of making pretty snack trays?

IMG_7056

The last couple of years, we’ve spent the last day of school at Robin’s.  Thanks for having us!  The kids swim.  We chat.  And Spencer feeds me chips + guac!  Ha!!

Dinner with Friends //

Friday night dinner with friends.  Bay fell in love with Brandon’s hoverboard.  And now that’s what she wants to buy with her pig money.  I’m still not a fan.  They seem like an injury waiting to happen!

Easy Saturday Morning //

We had the most chill Saturday we’ve had in such a long time!

For some odd reason I decided to make blueberry pancakes.  But, neither of us like pancakes or blueberries…HA!

IMG_7010.JPG

Packed a picnic and walked the Arboretum.  Check off the Spring To-Do’s!

IMG_7014.jpgIMG_7018.JPG

IMG_7019.JPG

Ended the day with date night + catch up sesh with the Truitt’s.  They have the best swings in their backyard.  I could sit there all night, except I’d probably fall asleep….I kinda did.

Monday, why?  Today I dropped a full mug of coffee.  Completely flaked on Kaia.  The snooze button won!  My house got invaded by some weird bugs as I was walking out the door for work.  Somehow wore my top inside out till about 15 minutes ago when I noticed.

Wishing I was back at the pool with these chicks right about now ♥

So there’s that.  Peace out, Monday!

Intentions for the week:

  • Grill zucchini (doesn’t it sound so good?) (will be sharing the recipe I posted on IG stores…so good)
  • Bay’s gonna bake and use strawberries…stay tuned (did you catch her strawberry shortcake recipes on {friday 5})?
  • Homemade pizza (you guys, I made a caesar salad pizza…I DIE)!
  • Asparagus caprese…yes please (coming to the blog too)
  • Can you tell I’m hungry?

6th Grade Dance //

My girl all ready for the dance.  Bay did her own hair + a little makeup.  She looked so grown up and beautiful!

IMG_6388

And their off.

BIG thanks to Jason + Destiny for sending the girls to their first dance in style.  I’ve never even been in a limo that cool!

Full cup, Full heart, Full cart //

Saturday mornings are for two cups of coffee + online shopping in your PJ’s.

And those Trader Joe’s peonies are quite the show stopper.

IMG_6408

I was invited to my first blogging event at the end of the month.  So, I pulled the trigger on a pretty dress that I’ve had my eye one.  You know, one of those you can’t stop thinking about, but really you have no place to wear it?  As soon as I got the invite, I went to order this and it was sold out.  Saturday morning is was back in-stock in one size.  My size.  That’s meant to be friends!

Striped ruffle maxi dress

IMG_6403

This dress has mixed reviews, but for that price tag, I decided to give it a shot.  I grabbed it in navy.

Eyelet flutter-hem dress

IMG_6402

Since we’ve been spending a lot of time at the pool, these seem necessary.  And I technically got them for Bay, but we officially wear the same shoe size now.  So, I will be borrowing!

Tortoise pool slides

I love these leather hair ties.  Bay has some in other colors.  These are the Lee Middle School colors for the win!

Check out the frog.

Benny scooped him up in a solo cup to transfer him to the kiddie pool.  Handed me the cup (with the frog in it).  As the frog was trying to get out.  I don’t think I’ve ever run so fast in my life.

{tie dye napkin diy}

DIY tie dyed napkins are the perfect way to salvage stained linens or just to make something groovy for the table!

Summer is here!  Not officially, we’ve technically got about 20 more days.  But, it sure feels like summer here in Northern California.  To kick-off the summer, Bay + I decided to spruce up the back patio a bit.  We planted lots of new succulents + flowers.  Still working on our herb garden plans.  Moved some of our larger pieces around.  I believe the easiest way to transform a space is to rearrange what you currently have.  Then make a Target run 🙂  Obvi!

I recently read that if you place your patio furniture directly adjacent to the exterior doors, you’ll find yourself using it so much more.  And I have to say, we’ve used our outdoor table so much more.

Then I took it to a whole new level and decided a set table is so much more inviting.  Ha!  It’s just how I roll.

Last week alone, I found myself sipping my coffee.  (wine too).  Doing my daily insta scrolls.  Enjoying dinner.  And soaking up the sunshine in this space.  I love it!

IMG_5921

Outdoor table (similar)  // Chargers // Melamine Polka Dot Dinner Plate // Napkins

So, remember I mentioned using the shit you have first.  Then making a Target run?  That’s exactly what I did here.

I love linen napkins.  If you’ve been over for brunch or dinner, you know that I ALWAYS use the real thing.  Currently I own probably close to 60 napkins..lol.  My favorite are the Buffet Napkins from World Market.  You can’t beat the price….6 napkins for $10.  I’m also a sucker for white.  Which means spaghetti sauce stains.  I bleach them every.single.time, but eventually there is a stain or two.  So instead of throwing them away, I decided to come up with a way to re-purpose them.  Mind you, these napkins are 100% clean, promise.

I stumbled on a blue Tie Dye kit at Walmart a few weeks ago and it hit me right then and there what I’d do with it.  Tie dye napkins.

Talk about crazy nostalgia.  I remember summers riding our bikes to Harris Park with Sarah + Sheena and tie dying shirts with their Parks and Rec group.  So fun.

Here’s a super easy DIY……

Tell me I’m not the only one……

As soon as December is over, Winter season is officially DEAD to me.  I’m beyond ready for what’s next.  Spring.  Sunshine.

You’re the same?

Okay good!

I’ve also vowed to not purchase another Winter clothing item.  Not a single one.

Well, maybe except for some new denim.  But, that’s year round so it really doesn’t count.  I’ve got my eye on a couple of Madewell pairs.  Decisions, Decisions.

Today, as I was doing my daily J.Crew scroll, I found so much cute shit.

23915890_10155011878140986_6033909231143642543_n

Cute Spring/Summer items.  On SUPER SALE!  They are last season.  But I don’t GAF!  (google it)

BCA0DF47-0442-445C-93C6-418521DA7910

If you too have singed off Winter…keep reading.  I’m going to show you whats good and very inexpensive at J.Crew today January 10th!  That’s like a whole week to debate and pull the tiger.

LOTS of sleeveless beware.  Throw it under a cardigan or blazer till Spring and get all kinds of wear!

Use code: NEWYEAR for up to 40% off all sale items.

Velvet tank top

$32.99 (originally $70)

I’ve had this tank in my shopping cart FOREVER, but not willing to pay $70 for a tank top.  Guess how much I paid?  $3.04!!  Swear!

I’m thinking this under a blazer till it gets hot AF and I can wear it come Spring with white denim and shorts.

If you made any J.Crew purchases over the holidays, there would have been a flyer for an additional 15% off.  These are stackable!  Meaning – you can use this on top of the NEWYEAR promo.

Now go home and search through all your J.Crew online order bags!

Oh and this tank also comes in black + copper rose + vintage gold!  Choosing a color was a hard task.  Now let’s just hope I love it as much as I want to!

Tie-shoulder eyelet top

$14.99 (originally $88)

I have a thing for eyelet.  Tie-shoulders are super cute too!  Great reviews and comes in ivory + lavender.

{hot air balloon}

DCIM100GOPRO

This year we talked about celebrating birthday’s a little differently.  Bay has had her fair share of BIG ass parties.  If only I could tell you the BIG ass money I’ve dropped on those BIG ass parties, you’d have a heart attack.

How about experiences?  Instead of the BIG ass parties.  Instead of the BIG ass gifts.  How about experience something?  Go on an adventure.  Something she’ll remember forever.  Don’t get me wrong, Bay is 11 years old.  Clearly homegirl likes a gift and toys.  Without having a clue as to what the experience would be, Bay was game for it.  Let’s try something new!  She’s always up for an adventure!

The weekend before Bay’s 11th birthday I surprised her.

We got up early.  I’m talking on the road by 5am.  Bay is not a morning person.  AT ALL!  For some weird reason, she popped out of bed.  Without a fight.  To be honest, I don’t think Bay has ever been up at 5am before.  It was almost like she knew what I had up my sleeve.  She didn’t.

We drove to Winters.

She told me on the way that she knew what we were doing.  Riding horses!

Nope!

Then she was clueless.

As soon as we pulled up, right there in front of us was the hot air balloon basket.

Bay freaked!  She didn’t believe it.

“We’re going on a hot air balloon?”

We met our pilot and group at Turkovich tasting room downtown Winters.  Once eveyone was gathered and release forms were signed, we set off to the launching spot.

I have to give a huge shout out to Yolo Ballooning Adventures!  They sure know how to make you comfortable and excited!  From ages 11 – 35!

IMG_2353

We watched the sunrise.  Bay’s never seen the sunrise before.

Anddd, we can cross that off the Summer To-Do’s 🙂

IMG_2355

Our basket was an 8 passenger.  You can see the squared off areas.  Each pair had their own little cubbie.  Then the pilot stood in the center of the basket.

I was so worried some weirdo would touch me or something.  Ha!  Totally not the case.

IMG_2357IMG_2360

Bay helping spread out our balloon.

IMG_2362

Bay inside the balloon.  Swear!

So, so cool!

IMG_2366

She’s saying “coolest thing ever” here 🙂

IMG_2367

Balloon Boom!

IMG_2370IMG_2371IMG_2374IMG_2375

We had the company of 12 other balloons.  Which they say is rare.

Beautiful sight to see!

Watch this video.  It’s my favorite!

{spinach pesto tacos}

IMG_3450.JPG

You know we’re BIG on tacos!!  Taco Tuesday has pretty much become a tradition at our house.  Anyone else?

Not to mention, I’ve never met a taco I didn’t like.

But, these tacos are not just any ol taco.  We’re kicking it up a notch.

Well, kinda.

When’s the last time you bought the package of crunchy taco shells from the grocery store?  It’s been years over here.  And it wasn’t until my 30’s that I realized you’re actually supposed to baked these taco shells before filling and eating them.  I’m glad I finally took the time to read the package, because baking will take your taco game to the next level!

Here’s where the kicking it up a notch comes in.  Once you’re ground meat of choice is all browned up, you’re gonna add pesto + spinach + salsa.

Sounds strange.  I know.  I get it.  Just trust me on this one.  I’m not going to screw up you’re Taco Tuesday, promise.

The combo is legit.  And this whole baking + cheese help a little too.

IMG_3447

And I even have a funny taco joke for you.  If you don’t laugh, we’re not friends anymore.

Why can’t you trust tacos?
