{spring to-do’s}

And just like that, it’s SPRING!  To say I am excited for the season change is an understatement.  I’m sure you’re sick of hearing me talk about it.  Spring always seems to be the season we wait the longest for.  Rain and all, I’ve got my eye on the long warm sunny days to come!

The shift from Winter to Spring always leaves me feeling super inspired too.  Always craving to create + explore after the Winter blues (which is a legit real thing).  I think we all, mentally NEED Spring..lol.  Everything seems to suddenly come to life.  Colorful life.

Last night I threw together a Spring mood/inspiration board (pictured above) with all the images that have been catching my eye lately.  Add the wooden flower from our Park Winters Garden Tour.  The pretty pom-pom tassel I originally got for Bay’s Easter basket.  And lastly, wrapped twine around a bunch of ranunculus to dry.

Another way Spring inspires me is by compiling our Spring list of the fun things we plan on creating + making + exploring + doing + wearing ♥

Keeping a running list is a great way to remember all seasonal things you enjoy doing or look forward to do.  When we have a free weekend, I like to refer to our To-Do’s and check items off as we go.

Missing Rachel in this picture.

Dinner at Father Paddy’s

Who knew how fun Friday nights are right here in Woodland?

We were all pleasantly surprised at how great all our food was.  When you can make all 5 chicks at a table happy, that’s saying a lot!

I will for sure go back!

Tips bathroom selfies.

This top was sitting on my front porch when I got home from work.  I had about 2 minutes to get ready.  Slipped it on a was out the door.

TOP SHOP Cutwork Balloon Sleeve Blouse

Monday.  Also President’s Day.  And I’m pretty sure I’m the only person in the world that is working today.  Ha!  Anyone taking advantage of the awesome online sales today?  I pulled the trigger on a couple of items I’ve been eyeing.

You guys, this weekend was so good.  I got to slip away to the coast.  Celebrate one of my besties turning the BIG 4-0.

Now if only I could be back on that trail staring at the ocean right now.  That would be pretty great!

Intentions for the week:

  • Make a pretty spring table setting(coming to the blog this week)
  • Bay requested chicken teriyaki.  Thinking of making it into a casserole? – (coming to the blog this week)

And how about some weekend highlights…..

Picking up my girl as a “car rider” on Friday was just as much a treat to me as it was for her.  I can’t remember the last time I waited in the pick-up line.  And I got a couple more smiles + squeezes before she left for her Dad’s house for the weekend.

#ootn (outfit of the night) not pictured is my leather jacket, because #socold

Spontaneous Friday afternoon trips to the coast are always a good idea!

Pit stop at The Tide’s for chard + chowder

Paul, the bartender, showing off.  Guess how many wine glasses he has in one hand?

Answer: 14 glasses

I’d probably show off too.

Tried some Donkey Piss #yolo

Waking up at Jenner Inn was a treat

We were lucky to grab one of their last rooms

And this view from our front door

Jenner Inn is a bunch of cottages right on HWY 1 overlooking the Russian River.  About 10 miles north of Bodega Bay.  Just far enough.

Other than the birds, it was dead silent and so crazy relaxing.

Beautiful walkways

I highly reccomend checking this place out.  I can’t wait to go back.

Up early to explore.

Surprise plan to hike the Kortum Trail.  This has been on my bucket list for a few years now ♥

You know when your driving up HWY 1 and you see all the trails that wind along the coastline?  That’s it.  I always thought, wow I bet it’s beautiful.

Just a mile south of Jenner you hit Goat Rock/Blind Beach.

More beautiful than I ever imagined.

Four miles of trails that look just like this.

Kortum Trail, connecting Blind Beach to Wrights Beach.

With continuous views like this

Blind Beach

When you’re out exploring by 8am, you get the beach ALL to yourself.

Nothing more peacful.

The water looks like glitter!

Blind beach is divided by a parking lot.  It’s crazy because the south side of the beach is a beautiful sandy beach.  The northern side of the beach reminds me of glass beach.  Full of colorful rocks.

And old tractor looking equipment….

Sunday dinner request:

Movie date night

The 15:17 to Paris

The true story, directed by Clint Eastwood.  Casting actual heroes to play themselves.  Not just any heroes, these are local, Sacramento heroes.  Pretty cool!

The movie, just okay.  Not sure what I was expecting, but I didn’t love it.

Watch the trailer here: The 15:17 to Paris (movie trailer)

{bay’s valentine}

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner.  I’m talking like 7 days.  Crazy, right?

Bay decided on her classroom Valentine weeks ago.  We gathered supplies.  And she’s been busy stitching up her final hearts for the special day.

Check out how cute Bay’s Valentine’s are this year!!

Bay LOVES to sew.  She’s always got a needle threaded and fabric laying all over her room.  So, this just made since.

Not to mention, very budget friendly.  Which I’m a BIG fan of 🙂

  • heart doilies
  • embroidery floss
  • large needle
  • conversation hearts
  • personalized labels

I grabbed all the materials from good ol Walmart.

Here’s how Bay does it:

She stitches the heart all the way around leaving about a 1 inch gap.  Fill the doily pouch with conversation hearts.  Then continues stitching the rest of the heart.  Tie a knot at the bottom.  And that’s it.

Handmade Valentines are so special.  And I Love the way they turned out.

More cute ideas…..

I’m a sucker for you, Valentine

You’re Beary Sweet

Highlights from the weekend……

WTF?  6 more weeks?  Say it aint so!

Friday, Bay and I had a mom + daughter date night.  Which started off with pedi’s ♥

Suns out, toes out!

One of the ladies busted out a stack of photos from Christmas Eve.  I die!

Successfully embarrassed Bay at Costco + Target in my pedi flip-flops.

Then successfully messed up the polish on my big toe right after #karma

Bento boxes will forever be her fave.  And kid chop sticks.

Jinju was bomb.com!

Saturday morning jade rolling + coffee!  More on the jade rolling…stay tuned!

Bay requested butter + bacon toast.  This is her go-to weekday breakfast she makes herself.

Why did I wait so long to get new bath towels?  Thank you Costco!

Catching up on housewives.  PeeeKayyy + Dorit drive me crazy!!

Sunshine + car washes.

Oh and pink slides.  I’ve been waiting patiently to pull these pretties out of the closet.

Shout out to Sparkles Carwash!

Davis Farmers market was crawling with romenesco.  So I had to grab some to try!

Romenesco is in the cauliflower family.  Prepare the same way too.  I roasted it with olive oil + salt + pepper.  Loved it!

Impromptu lunch date are the best!

Love these sweet girls!  They have so much in common it makes me smile.

Pen pals.  Both raise pigs for 4-H.  Kind.  Love bacon burgers.

The whole lunch crew!

Highlights from the weekend……

Friday night with friends //

I used to be a pizza every Friday night kinda gal, but I think going out is a nice change from time to time.  Our House is where we landed.  Great drinks.  Great food.  Great service!  Great company!

You have to start with the hand-pulled mozzarella….THE BEST EVER!  The Gnocchi was out of this world.   Salmon + Rib Eye were pretty damn good too!

Thanks for the fun night Truitt’s!

Happy Hour //

I swear I do more than just happy hours…lol.  I was kid free in my defense.  But, can we talk a minute to talk about the amazing signage at Blue Note Brewery?

“Parent Rules”

Basically, don’t let your kid be a dick while you get tips!

Bay’s home //

With 1,093 extra Maui freckles and all.  She grew about an inch, as I had predicted.  With a case of chocolate covered macadamia nuts for her mama ♥ Look at that beautiful smile.

All is well in my world again!

Dangerous combo!  Try it!  Or maybe you shouldn’t.

Bay’s gorgeous lei.  We have it hanging in hopes it will dry out and she can keep it forever.  It smells so good.

New jams //

If you know me, then you know I’m obsessed with pj’s.  There is nothing better than comfy pj’s in the morning.  And at night.  Shit, they’re great mid-day too!  I scored this candy striped pair from the J.Crew sale.  I cannot wait till spring when I can wear them without freezing my ass off.

Candy striped pajama set

Reunited //

Bay + Rodeo ♥

Lots of pig barn detail the last two days.  Thankfully Bay loves it!
