Hello Monday! You kinda ruined my day, to be honest. Not you, Monday did! I somehow overslept by 2 1/2 hours. Which means I feel like I’m 2 1/2 hours behind in EVERYTHING today. But, damn I sure did get some good sleep! Hope your Monday is off to a better start than mine!

In other news, I got a notification that today, this very post, is my 700th blog post. CRAZY! Seven hundred. If you’ve been following since the beginning, you should know me pretty really well by now…HA!

Highlights from the weekend……

Friday, Bailey spent the entire day riding + washing + braiding horses.

It’s pretty impressive the work that goes into getting these horses ready for a horse show.

Went downtown to check out First Friday. If you haven’t had a chance to check out the new bella moda boutique, you need too. So many cute tops. And the priced are super reasonable.

Cory surprised me with Steve’s Pizza + extra ranch. It’s true love!

All the local wineries hosted a tasting. First stop…Seka Hills! My favorite.

The picnic area was the place to be. The live band started right before the sunset.

Today we’re talking about one of my favorite subjects. Wine!

Wine flies when you’re having fun!

Ain’t that the truth. 4 bottles between 5 girls….GONE! Ha!

It was all in the name of the Rosé tasting game. So, it was for a good cause.

Remember the time I convinced some girlfriends to do the {3 glasses} wine game?

I clearly have a thing for wine games 🙂

I hosted a Rosé tasting + OC Housewives premier at my house the other night. I think it’s safe to say the two go hand in hand. Wine + Bravo! Right?

I get asked ALL THE TIME “what’s your favorite rosé. One you can grab at Target when you’re gathering all the other shit you really don’t need. Except the rosé. You actually NEED the rosé.

So I put my homegirls to the test. I bought 4 bottles of rosé from Target. Covered them in tissue paper. And handed out score cards.

Happy Monday friends! We survived another Celebrity Golf Tourney. As always, such a good time. Friends + sunshine + celebrities + drinks! That’s what this annual weekend trip is all about. Hope you all had a killer couple of days too. Now back into the swing of things. Luckily I made prior plans to meet my homegirl for an early (4:30 am) workout….otherwise I’m pretty sure my snooze button would have gotten a good workout…HA! Bay started Algebra Academy this morning. And I’m hosting a rosé tasting + OC Housewives season premier this evening. Have you watched the trailer? It’s going to be ridiculous…just how I like it!

Intentions for the week:

~~Host a rosé tasting~~ – (gonna tell you all about it)
Find a sunflower field – (hopefully this week)
~~Make caprese salad~~ – (my fave. trying it with avocado this week)
~~Go see Mama Mia with Bay in the theater~~ – (so, so good Bay couldn’t stop dancing)

~~Stay away from Target~~ – (I did it….till Friday, but I had stuff I legit needed)

Try a new foundation…maybe back to Estée Lauder? – (getting color matched this week whoop-whoop)
Play tennis – (too damn hot for that shit)

Highlights from the weekend……..

This was my third + final weekend in Tahoe for the month. I’m tired! Ha!

Always a pit stop at Strawberry Lodge. And the bartenders are getting better + better at making a skinny, skinny marg each time!

Pizza + carafe of red wine at Lake Tahoe Pizza Co. It’s just how we roll.

Quite possibly the highlight of the weekend…..karaoke at the Classic Cue. If you follow any of us on Insta-stories, then you know what I’m talking about. Classic Cue never disappoints on a Friday night. And we even roped some of our favorite Golf Tourney homies to partake in the amazingness!

Best part – one of the singers from Friday night, just so happened to be Andrea’s uber driver Saturday morning. LOL! You can’t even make this shit up.

It’s finally FRIDAY! You guys, I knew it was happening, I let it happen. Last week was a complete shit show. HA! I planned it that way, of course. But, hot damn – I’m exhausted. Straight up overstimulated! I cannot wait to put my butt on the beach + enjoy the weekend with my family!!

But, first – I got some stuff on my mind……

ONE – Park Winters Summerland // Yesterday, I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon at Park Winters Summerland. My first influencer event. It was nothing short of magical! Great people. Amazing vendors. Delicious cocktails (still devastated I wasn’t able to stay for dinner) Beautiful venue! I’ll be sharing more next week! BIG THANK you Park Winters for inviting little ol me 🙂

And I absolutely LOVED all the messages saying “yay, you wore the dress” it reassures me you guys actually read what I write 🙂 And yes, I had to wear THE dress!

TWO – Mrs. Chase Letter // I finally got to cleaning out all the end of school year paperwork and whatnot. Digging through papers, I found an envelope addressed to Bailey. She opened it. Read it. Tears rolling down her cheeks. Then I read it. Also with tears rolling down my cheeks. What a great reminder of how much we LOVE Plainfield Elementary School + Mrs. Chase, Bay’s kindergarten teacher 7 years ago! #plainfieldmustang forever ♥

THREE – Seka Hills Fireworks // My second time visiting Seka Hills this week!!! Such a treat! Last night was the annual Seka Hills Family. Fun. Food. Fireworks. 💥 It’s exactly that. All our friends. Arts + Crafts for the kids. A photo booth even. Chando’s Tacos…yumm! And for the grand finale, the best firework show in our area!

I ran into Nancy and she gave me a quick little tour of the gorgeous kitchen. Best part, they have a dish washer that washes in 90 second. Umm, I think I need one!

Pizzas are $15 each. We ordered 2 for the three of us and had leftovers. You can BYO beer + wine. Set up a picnic and hang out.

I’m now dying to check out one of their Farm Dinners.

{teacher gift}

Have you ever seen a better teacher gift? I think NOT! Maybe it’s just the wine-o in me, but I thought this was borderline brilliant. Just a little something to show the teachers that you appreciate them. And thank them for your kid being the reason they drink…Ha!

Let’s be real, this would put a big fat smile on my face on the last day of school!

I was so pumped about this cute idea. Found the perfect ribbon. My favorite bottle of chard. Printed out the cute free printable. Stayed up last night to throw together a couple of these goodies.

Trying my very hardest to be on top of things. The last 2 weeks of school is always a busy shit show. You know?

Anyway……

Showed Bay my finished product this morning when she woke up. Her response….

“My teachers don’t drink alcohol!”

My response….

“Huh?”

Doesn’t drink wine? Then Bay follows up with….

“Or coffee!”

WTF?

So, I’m back to the drawing board. Ha! And I now have two bottles of my fave chard chilling in the fridge for this evening. Guess it’s not that bad afterall 🙂

But, I’m still a little worried about Bay’s teacher. What does she pour in her glass after a long hard day? On to prepare in the morning for another day teaching a bunch of 6th grade punks? Mrs. DeLemos, you’re making this very difficult…lol. Only kidding. Best teacher ever ♥

Hello Monday! I woke up on the right side of the bed this morning. So, I’m taking full advantage of the day. Even made it to 5am Kaia! I truly believe that a weekend well spent brings a week of content. Last week was a shit show, so this one is bound to be great. The ebb and flow of life. If one week sucks, the following is probably going to be wayy better.

Bay + I hit the sheets early last night. Right after I completed my to-do’s for the week. My blog content schedule. Okay, so how was your weekend friends? Saturday was absolutely frickin gorgeous. Sunday too, till about 5pm when it started DUMPING! Looking forward to more weekends just like this one……

{friday 5}

Happy, Happy Friday! Today, for the first time all damn week, I’m feelin it. FINALLY! I’ve been in such a funk, for no particular reason at all. Originally, I was calling it a vacation hangover, but not sure that’s still a legitimate excuse come Thursday. I could not go one more day as grumpy ass Stacy. So, I got up, made a cup of coffee and went to the mirror. Looked myself dead on and said “Bitch, today is a new day. It’s gonna be a damn good day. Smile. Drink that coffee and kick some ass!” And go buy yourself something cute. Haha! It did the trick! Maybe it being Friday was the kicket? Who knows, but I’m gonna keep up with the pep talks!

Wanna know what’s on my mind today? I’m about to tell you anyway 🙂

ONE – My 4-H Girl // 2017 vs. 2018. HOLY COW!! Every April, Bay goes to the 4-H club meeting in her whites. They do a little presentation to show the newer members what they need for Spring Show. I took the picture on the right Monday. Then the picture on the left showed up in my memories the next day. One year. 365 frickin days. And the change is so crazy. I bet she’s at least 6 inches taller. Not to mention she looks like a total tween…OMG! Last weekend she spent her own money on a mini backpack, which I’m not a fan of, but she’s obsessed with. So clearly, she’s going to rock it every.single.place we go for the rest of time. Where did my baby go?

TWO – Avocado Crackers // You know I’m a BIG fan of avocado toast. Like, real big fan. I’ve been carb loading lately. A week of vacay + Easter at the same time….KILLED ME. So, I’m trying to kick it on the carbs a bit. These TJ’s Crispbreads have 7g carbs. That’s like less that 1/3 of what a slice of sourdough bread has. I still get that yummy avocado toast taste that I love. And have you ever tried a hard-boiled egg on avocado toast? BOMB! This makes a great breakfast or lunch option.

Here’s what you’ll need:

two hard-boiled eggs
2 TJ’s grain cripsbread (or gg crackers)
1/2 avocado
TJ’s everything but the bagel seasoning

Mash avocado in a small bowl. Divide and spread over crackers.

Top each cracker with 1 sliced egg

Sprinkle with seasoning.

Inhale in 5 seconds. Because they are that good!

THREE – J.Crew // J.Crew is killing it on their promo’s + sales lately. Like this adorable one-shoulder bow top. The elastic around the top for a stay-in-place feel is so good. No tugging at all. I grabbed it for $11.99! What a steal, right? Funny thing, two of my best gal pals also ordered the same top. #twinning. I kinda want to pair it with black jeans…hmmm.

Monday. Also President’s Day. And I’m pretty sure I’m the only person in the world that is working today. Ha! Anyone taking advantage of the awesome online sales today? I pulled the trigger on a couple of items I’ve been eyeing.

You guys, this weekend was so good. I got to slip away to the coast. Celebrate one of my besties turning the BIG 4-0.

Now if only I could be back on that trail staring at the ocean right now. That would be pretty great!

Picking up my girl as a “car rider” on Friday was just as much a treat to me as it was for her. I can’t remember the last time I waited in the pick-up line. And I got a couple more smiles + squeezes before she left for her Dad’s house for the weekend.

Jenner Inn is a bunch of cottages right on HWY 1 overlooking the Russian River. About 10 miles north of Bodega Bay. Just far enough.

Other than the birds, it was dead silent and so crazy relaxing.

You know when your driving up HWY 1 and you see all the trails that wind along the coastline? That’s it. I always thought, wow I bet it’s beautiful.

Friday //

Nails + Vince’s with my girl. She needed to get her Hawaii nails. She picked white fingers + pink toes. So cute ♥

It was one of those days that called for a Vince’s margarita. We actually had two…but who’s counting?

Have you ever had their pork burrito? It’s the ONLY thing I order anymore. The best! Ala cart, since I kill about two baskets of chips + salsa before 🙂

I dropped my girl off first thing Saturday morning. She’s spending the week in Hawaii with her Dad’s side of the family.

Pom Pom Luggage Tag

I found the adorable luggage tag at Walmart last week. For $3. I seriously looked everywhere for about 2 weeks then stumbled on this one and it matches her new luggage perfectly.

I snuck a little surprise care package in Bay’s carry-on for the long flight. Her fave snacks + some cute games to keep her busy.

Don’t waste your time or money. Other than the fact the acting was great, the movie was terrible. I felt like I had 2 hours stolen from me when it was over. Not a fan!!

Retail therapy //

A Nordstrom trip always solves the problem. And their order pick-up is the best thing since sliced bread. When you know what you want, but don’t feel like tracking it down or trying shit on. Order online, wait about 30 minutes. You’ll get a text when your order is ready. Swing by the shoe department. Show the cashier your ID, done!
