{weekend notes}

IMG_3251.PNG

Hello Monday!  I woke up on the right side of the bed this morning.  So, I’m taking full advantage of the day.  Even made it to 5am Kaia!  I truly believe that a weekend well spent brings a week of content.  Last week was a shit show, so this one is bound to be great.  The ebb and flow of life.  If one week sucks, the following is probably going to be wayy better.

Bay + I hit the sheets early last night.  Right after I completed my to-do’s for the week.  My blog content schedule.  Okay, so how was your weekend friends?  Saturday was absolutely frickin gorgeous.  Sunday too, till about 5pm when it started DUMPING!  Looking forward to more weekends just like this one……

Intentions for the week:

  • workout  (5 days last week and nothing feels better)
  • al fresco dinning
  • spruce up the back patio
  • meal prep
  • avocado taost blog post (say that 5 times fast)
  • hostess the next Omega Nu meeting
  • keep organized
  • positive vibes
  • set a pretty table – (coming this week)

Highlights from the weekend……

Breakfast + coffee date with my Mama!

Which inspired tomorrows post {avocado toast 4 ways} Stay tuned, it’s a good one.

UC Davis Arboretum plant sale.

IMG_3092

They offered $10 off to everyone, since they rescheduled last weekend due to rain.  I’ll take it.

Some of the more unique plants.

IMG_3093

Our picks.  Succulants…always.  And some other pretties.  I’d tell you all about them, but I can’t remember what they’re called.  Why do plants have the most awful names?  The green leaf right in front is going in a pot on my front porch.  Little daisy like flowers will come summer time.

Arboretum stroll

I can’t tell you how gorgeous the Arboretum is this time of year.

3.6 mile loop with views like this.  I really need to spend more time here.

The poppies are everywhere.  Turtles galore.  Ducks for days.

Perfect place for a Saturday stroll.

A surprise Lavendar Topiary plant delivery from my homegirl Sarah P!

I mentioned to her last week, that I’ve been wanting one.  These are a Costco score.  So run now, they sell out quick!

You’re the best Sarah!!!

Watching both of my nephews baseball games.  Benny got 2 doubles and Joe got an awesome hit too….he even slid into home.  Love watching them play.  And spending time with this little cutie.

All over Putah Creek + Berryessa.

We stumbled upon Nichelini Winery.  Up the road from Turtle Rock about 3 miles.  We actaully saw a sign in the bar and the owner at Turtle Rock told us we should check it out.

Done!

Nestled right on the side of Sage Canyon Road, you’ll come up on Nichelini Family Winery.

You’re probably passed by many times, like us and never stopped.

Do me a favor.  STOP next time.

You won’t be dissapointed.

It just so happened to be their Rosé release day.  And I just so happened to be wearing my Rosé the day away shirt.

The owners asked to take our photo for their FB page.  Yes, Yes + yes!  Ha.

It was meant to be! Rosé is the day — Nichelini Rosé is to die for!

Their Caberbet Sauvignon Rosé is to die for.  We both agreed.  And I’m not always a Rosé gal.

Meal Prep //

Time spent meal prepping is so key.  Once the work week hits, I don’t even have to think twice about what we are having for dinner.  Options for breakfast + lunch.  It’s a HUGE time saver.

IMG_3132

With a glass of bubbles + dash of OJ in hand.

IMG_3133

Chicken + white bean enchiladas are on tonights menu.  I just have to pop them in the oven after work.  I’m serving them alongside a tomato + cucumber + avocado salad.

IMG_3080

Taco salad lunches are in the fridge and ready for the whole week.

Mixed greens.  Ground turkey.  Corn.  Black Beans.  Cilanto + green onion.  Tomaotes.  Red bell peppers.  Cotija cheese.  Lime.  Topped with TJ’s Green Goddess salad dressing.

Weird fact: I actaully crave taco salads.

Grocery Pick-up //

Questions about the Grocery Pick-Up service I told you guys about Friday here: {friday 5}.  I LOVED it.  I will be using it again, possibly every week from now on.  It’s FREE, if you spend $30.  Have you ever gone to the grocery store and spent less than $30?  It was super easy.  I went to the email to “check in” basically letting Walmart know I was in route.  Follow the arrows to Pick-up!  Park in one of the designated spots.  Within 2 minutes, my groceries were being bagged and loaded into my car.  She even told me I didn’t have to get out.  I did, because I wanted to check my shit and make sure there were no errors.  Everything was perfect.  My laundry soap was in a giant zip-lock bag, just in case of spilling.  I was impressed.  Try it out and let me know what you think.  This day in age, if there is a free service that can save my ass some time….and money (I spent way less that I normally do by not grabbing random shit) I’m down with it!  100% recommend this to all my peeps.

IMG_3073

Then, I beelined it to TJ’s to grab all my healthy shit…aka, veggies + proteins + chardonnay + flowers.  Bogle chard is $6.99 at TJ’s everyday.  Just FYI!

Oh and $3.99 tulips.  Can’t beat that.

Mondayz //

Remeber I said that I made it to Kaia?  I have been so bad since Spring Break.  We were gone for a week, then I got a case of the Vacay hangover.  Basically, I didn’t hardly workout for 2 solid weeks.

Today felt good.  Real goo!

IMG_3240

My current breakfast craving.

IMG_3243

That was so much!  Tomorrow I’ll keep it short + sweet..lol.  Have a great Monday!!!

xoxo stacyb
