Things I LOVED in February and I think you just might LOVE some of them too……

OUTFIT DETAILS: Shop all of February Favorites here

First and foremost, Facebook Marketplace.  I am a whore for Marketplace.  First thing I look at in the morning and last thing at night.  HOOKED!  I have scored some of the best finds/deals.  The Vintage lion head door knocker that is finally installed.  And the vintage matchstick holder.  It found it’s home on the front of our fireplace.  If you were following this weekend on stories, then you got a sneak peak at the newest find: a vintage fountain for the backyard.

Discovered Fishwife albacore tune in spicy olive oil.  If you’re a tuna girly-pop, you must try.  I added a dab of mayo, salt, pepper, squeeze of lime and dipped my carrots, cucs and crackers.  So, so yumm. Add it to your next Target order.

Got sucked into an add, did a little research and pulled the trigger on Seranova Micro Infusion System. I was sold on the “Visible results after the first treatment or you money back guarantee.”  I’m on my second treatment and really like the results.  Click here for a discount: Seranova Micro Infusion System

Our award-winning Micro Infusion System uses ultra-fine, cosmetic-grade touchpoints (tiny needles) designed to create temporary surface pathways that help enhance serum absorption.

This allows key ingredients—like hydrating hyaluronic acid and peptides—to reach the surface layers that traditional creams may not, helping your skin appear smoother, plumper, and more refreshed over time.

With use every two weeks, many users report visible improvement in the look of fine lines, uneven texture, and overall radiance—all from the comfort of home.

{2023 summer reading list}

You guys –

As I type these words, it shocks the shit out of me too…..

My 2023 Summer Reading List!!

LOL!

I’m a newer reader/listener.  I don’t actually read books, I listen to them on audio.  Typically I get so hooked, that I finish the book in a couple of days.  Cory + Bay know that when I’m ignoring them – I likely have an airpod in one ear binging a new book.  Who am I?

{friday 5}

It’s Friday (hu-frickin-ray)!  Honestly, it’s really hard to believe October is coming to an end next week.  I feel like I cannot keep up with this year?  Anyone else?  I’ve got the Holidays on my mind BIG TIME.  I’ve started shopping too.  Which is one of my Holiday goals.  And after the Serendipity Boutique + bella moda boutique Christmas Preview last night, my wheels are spinning.

Weekend plans: My to-do list is staring me down.  It’s been growing longer each day this week.  I’ve been so swamped with work, I hardly have time to check my email or order my groceries.  I’ve been on survival mode…lol.  Tonight Bay and I are having a date night.  Mani’s + pizza + watching La La Land (she hasn’t seen it yet).  I can’t wait to sleep in.  Spend some time with friends.  Possibly get wine tips with Alex.  Maybe church?  God knows I need a little church in my life.

Before I let you get your weekend started, let me quickly chat about 5 things on my mind…..

ONETurkey On The Table //  Kinda like Elf on the Damn Shelf, but for Thanksgiving.  Except, it’s not a pain in the ass at all.  And you don’t have to move it daily.  So, basically it’s nothing like Elf on The Damn Shelf…lol.  It’s more of a lesson on being grateful.  I’m all about gratitude.  I actually started practicing it daily, thanks for #last90days challenge.  Here’s how it works…for every day in November, write down something you are thankful for on the paper feather.  Each family member can take turns or everyone can write on the same one.  It’s totally up to you.  Place it somewhere that you’ll see it.  On Thanksgiving day, you’ll have a “fully dressed” turkey to display.  You can then read all the thankful feathers aloud.  It’s such a cute idea.  And the best part, for each Turkey on The Table purchased, 10 meals will be provided to someone in need through Feeding America.

TWO – Currently Reading // I had to ditch my last audio book.  So many great reviews, but the voice-over was absolutely terrible.  If you’re an audio book listener, then you get it.  Picked up Reese Witherspoons new Whiskey in a Teacup : What Growing Up in the South Taught Me About Life, Love, and Baking BiscuitsBest part, she’s actually the reader of her own book.  Which I don’t think I’ve ever seen before?  Anyway, it’s so cute and lighthearted…I’m really diggin it.  I also grabbed Chrissy Teigen’s newest cookbook Cravings: Hungry for More And she nailed it.  Everything looks so good.  I can’t wait to dive into it more this weekend and dog ear some pages to add to my “must make list!”  What are you reading?  Anything good I should add to my list next?

Hello Friday!  Is it just me, or did this week fly by?  No complaining over here.  I mean, Friday is second favorite F-word 🙂   Weekend plans: celebrating my Mama turning the big 6-0!  Sleeping in.  Coffee in my PJ’s.  Meal prep and I’ll share it next week too.  Showering the new mom to be, Brittany.  Pulling out all the Fall decor.  And maybe, just maybe getting some pumpkins for the front porch.  What’s on your agenda for the weekend?  Whatever it is, enjoy the shit out of it.  Before you know it, it’s Monday all over again!

Welcome to your weekly dose of Friday 5…..

ONECapper’s Refreshers // Always down to show some support for new businesses in town.  Formerly Stacked N’ Brewed turned Capper’s Refreshers.  Took Bay into the new establishment last night for a sweet treat.  She had an excellent day and there’s no better way to top it off than ice cream!  Except this isn’t actual ice ceam….it’s “shaved snow” with all the toppings served in  a waffle come.  Sprinkled with gold dust.  Looks like ice cream.  Tastes like ice cream.  I’m straight up SOLD on the shaved snow.  Try the “Dexter’s Delight” sans blueberries (because who likes them anyway) and you too will be in heaven.  Can’t wait to stop back in and try one of their meals.  Everything looked fantastic.  Go show your love for the new restaurant and let’s keep them around!!!

Xhilaration Crochet Top Tie Dye Maxi Dress

Hey friends!  You know when you have that week (or in my case weeks) where nothing goes smoothly?  You stay up late over thinking.  Or watching + reading about the border separations.  Which makes you wayyy too tried to hit the 5 am gym time?  Then you eat like shit, drink wayy too much, start breaking out, act like a total bitch and feel bad for yourself?   That’s basically been me for the last two weeks.  Then you go to Target and buy a new dress to make yourself feel better?  It works, don’t get me wrong.  It really does the trick for me.  Temporarily.  This dress I’m wearing right here?  I picked this up on one of my many shop your feelings away days.  HA!  I’m not looking for sympathy what so ever!  It’s life!  I’m totally fine!

So, on Friday, I chatted a for a sec about the book I’m currently hooked on, Girl, Go Wash Your Face!  Thanks to this book, I feel SO MUCH BETTER!

I know your rolling your eyes right now.  I did too!  Every time I heard someone praise this book.

Then the library sent me an alert that the audio book I requested MONTHSSSSS ago, was available for pick up.

Popped it in the CD player while still parked in front of the Woodland Public Library.  And the rest is history.  Haven’t turned it off since.

Hey Girl, Hey!  It’s Friday!  Weekend plans: eat pizza + watch movies (we rented 3) + lay by the pool + celebrate Father’s Day + volunteer + kayak.  A little bit of everything.  Super looking forward to all the things we’ve got on our agenda.  Don’t you love it when that happens?  Whatever you’ve got planned for the next two day, enjoy it.  Have a good one friends!

What to know what’s on my mind this Friday?  I’m just going to take up a hot second of your time…..

ONE –  Volleyball Camp // Today was the last day of the week-long Pioneer Volleyball Camp.  This was Bay’s first year and she absolutely loved it.  BIG thank you to Carrie + my Mom for getting her to + from while I’m stuck at work.  You guys, I swear she grew another inch this week too.  Today, she actually borrowed one of my workout tops.  And….it fit her.  WTF is happening?

TWO – Food Find // Trader Joe’s Salad Topper.  Ingredients: Sliced almonds + roasted pepitas + salt + white sesame seeds + black sesame seeds + nigella seeds + crushed red pepper.  $3.99 for 8 individual packets.  Basically 50 cents per salad.  So far I’ve sprinkled this topping over eggs + tuna + salads.  So good!

THREE – Holy Housewives // Did you watch the trailer for season 13 of Orange County?  What a shit show!  Bravo added three new housewives (that’s including Vicki and her new face HA).  Set your DVR for Monday, July 16th!  From the looks of the video below, it’s going to be a good season!

Can I get an Amen for Friday!!!  I don’t know about you, but I AM SPENT!  This first week of school, Bay’s 11th birthday + the eclipes (Ha) + packing has killed me a little  Just a little, but today is Friday!  We’re hitting the road for a final-final summer adventure.  And then it’s a wrap folks.

But first I’ve got 5 things on my mind…..

ONE – Back to school // This coloring page is everything.  Bay literally finished it in 2.5 minutes.  For the first time, since she started elementary school, she told me she was too old to do her back to school coloring page.  FML!  She did it anyway.  She must have seen the look on my face.  I almost cried.  Anyway, I have saved these year after year.

She said the worst thing in her lunch was a pickle.  I find that funny, considering she LOVES pickles…lol!  What a brat.

Click below and have your kiddo fill on of these out!  It’s a keeper

TWO – I Fought The Law // Total pre-ordered this book.  It caught my eye and I’m so intrigued.  Beautiful photographs of the strangest laws from each of the 50 states.

Strange, outdated laws from each of the 50 U.S. states—some overturned, some still on the books, and some merely the stuff of legends—are depicted with sly wit by Olivia Locher. Incisive, ironic, and gorgeous, these images will appeal to art buffs and trivia fans alike. A foreword from American poet Kenneth Goldsmith and an interview with the artist by Eric Shiner, former director of the Andy Warhol Museum, contextualize rising-star Locher’s photography. From serving wine in teacups in Kansas to licking a toad in Kentucky or perming a child’s hair in Nebraska, breaking the law has never looked so good.

For instance: In California, it is illegal to ride a bike in a swimming pool.

{bacon burger bites}

IMG_9996.JPG

Mini bacon burgers layered on a bamboo skewer, with lettuce + tomatoes + pickles.  Who can resist that combo on a stick?  Not me!!  OR Bay!

These make the perfect low-carb dinner or appetizer.

I recently grabbed a copy of Danielle Walker’s Against all Grain Celebrations cookbook.  So many beautiful + healthy recipes.  I want to make everything.  This one caught Bay’s eye.  She’s not a bun girl.  And anything on a toothpick is so cool to a 10-year-old.
