To DYE for 💀 DIY! As soon as we find a fun little quarantine activity, bleach becomes gold and goes extinct. Ha! Figures!
Sharing this super easy bleach tie dye DIY today on the blog. Along with perfect sweatshirts + tees to get the job done!

Here’s what you’ll need:
- Clothing item (our $15 sweatshirts) I linked a bunch of others at the end of this post
- Bleach (if you can find it – it’s gone like toilet paper) #quarantineproblems
- Squeeze Bottle (or clean out an old dish soap bottle)
- Rubber bands
- Scissors
- Plastic Grocery Bags (I used Target bags)
Here’s what you’ll do:
If you’d like a more cropped or distressed look…..
On Bay’s sweatshirt, we cut the hem off the bottom. You can cut the neckline and make it a looser or off the shoulder look. You can used the scissors or a razor to distress around the edges. Or skip this part, like I did for mine 🙂
Soak the item you want to dye in water. Wring it our well.
Place item flat on a table.
Pinch the center and twist. The tighter the better.
Using rubber bands, secure the clothing item.
Fill squeeze bottle with bleach.
Squeeze the bleach all over each side of the clothing item so it’s very damp.
Stick in a plastic bag and place in a bowl. Set someplace cool + dry over night.
After 24 hours, carefully cut the rubber bands. Wash in the washing machine + dry as normal.
Rock it and tag me!
