Let me tell you this, the older you do get the more rules they’re gonna try to get you to follow.
You just gotta keep livin’ man, L-I-V-I-N
Highlights from JULY…..
- Letting my teenager DD me and my Mom to the biggest dive bar in Tahoe, The Classic Cue. Bummpin her ghetto music with the sunroof wide open. Then coming back to get us after a drink….or two!
- Laying out in the backyard. With the chickens pecking our toes. The girls are doing great. Cory built them nesting boxes…even though they have yet to step foot into them. We have a little chicken run on the side yard for them and they are very happy. Charlie cannot leave them alone.
- Spending as much time at the cabin as possible. Tahoe sunsets just might be my favorite.
- Meeting up with friends that also love Tahoe as much as we do. Live music at Ale Worx. And a day we wont forget with the Kindelts – with no pictures to prove it.
- Charlie giving us her sad look when we leave the house. The dogs have graduated and now get the whole house while we’re gone. So far, they just sleep all day long….Charlie on the couch, obvi.
- Cory mastered the homemade pizza. We got him this Pizza Oven for Father’s day. It’s the gift that keeps giving…..to us 🙂
- Bailey and I have been in our book era. My Mom too. I’m hooked and have already listened to 18 books since June.
- We gained a new four-legged walking partner, Archie. He’s the cutest thing ever and somehow makes me think we need another dog…..
- The beach! One of the only places I can truly relax to the fullest. So, I made it my mission to spend as much time as possible sitting in the sand. 9am, lunchbreaks and anytime I could squeeze in-between.
- My Garden is giving me so much more fucking joy than I could have ever imagined. I can clipped and fill a vase almost every morning between my zinnias, roses, alstroemeria, olive branches, eucalyptus, herbs, succulents and dahlias. Can’t remember the last time I picked up store-bought flowers.
- Mezger zinnia patch photo shoots. I will get eaten alive by mosquitos any day Bay asks me to take 872 pictures of her and her bestie. If you haven’t been at sunset, I highly recommend.
- Kind of obsessed with giant satin Hair Bows. I kept seeing them pop up on my Instagram feed, so I caved and bought one. I may look like a 5 year old, but I am here for it!!!
- And lastly, we finished off July with a final, final. A camping trip with my bestie and her family. It definitely didn’t go as planned, but we had THE BEST time. We tent camped at Flying Flags Avila Beach and it was boujee AF! The nicest campground I’ve ever seen. We had a ocean view that was WOW!!! We beached it, sat around the campfire, had all the local food. Toasted with dirty martinis and laughed till our cheeks hurt!
July was good to us!!
August – shits about to get real. We are dialing in on health. Bailey turns 17 and starts her senior year of high school. How in the hell do I have a senior? Volleyball kicks off as well as high school football – and my nephew is playing on varsity. The Yolo County Fair. Stover comes home. And we get to celebrate Korine getting hitched! It’s going to be real, real good!!
