In case you missed it…..

Doing something a little different today.

Compiling all March blog posts.  (in case you missed one) And how about throwing in a cute outfit with it?

You’ll have to let a sister know if you find this helpful, k!!!

But first a couple Santa Cruz highlights…..

I think it’s safe to say, we’re adapting to this beach life pretty well.

The girls hit the Boardwalk yesterday. Thanks to Groupon for the $30 wristbands 🙌🏻

Paying $9 for a tall boy isn’t so bad when you pack your George Strait tall can koozie 😍

Back to the beach in my perfect black one-piece that I shared last Friday. It actually doubles as a top. I wore with my cutoffs and it looked like a bodysuit. The low-cut back is so good. Buy yourself this suit, trust me.

My beach crew ❤️

My brace #ootd // Rosè the day away. And that’s 100% rosè in my solo cup 🍷

Here’s what happened in March:

Hello Friends.  How was your weekend?

Bay came home from camp with a cold, not to mention, the poor thing was whipped out.  So, we changed our original plans and had a low key weekend.  Which I’m not mad about.  It was perfect.  I got the spring cleaning fever Saturday and organized my closet + shoe closet.  I love seeing all my money hanging nice + neat..lol!

I was looking over my calendar for this week and almost fell out of my chair.  Between Bay + I, we have something planned every night this week.  So, here’s to a busy week and NO wine rewards in the evenings…lol.  It’s ok, I’ll survive off my skinny, skinny margs 🙂

Intentions for the week:

Last weeks Intentions: {weekend notes}

  • Don’t watch anymore Golden State Killer #nightmares only BRAVO shows 🙂
  • Repot plants – on this week’s to-do’s
  • Should I cut my hair shorter? shorter + blonder
  • Parent Teacher Conference – all 3’s ♥
  • Make a mexican hot pot for dinner
  • Parent Night at Lee Middle School OMG! – in 5 months I’ll have a middle schooler
  • Celebrate St Patrick’s Day – Cory mad the best corned beef + cabbage

How do you feel about Springing Forward?

I’m 100% down with it.  I’d give 2 hours just to know Spring is on it’s way.  And it wont be dark on my drive home from work.  Hell yesss!!!

IMG_0758.jpg

Highlights from the weekend……

Bay’s home!  Friday afternoon the 6th graders rolled into town after their week long Alliance Redwoods trip!

I was able to sneak out of work for a few days to hang with the 6th graders at Alliance Redwoods.  It was so damn cool.  Armstrong Redwoods.  Lots of fun hikes.  Selfies.  Groupies.  Our Accommodations were nice.  The Golden Ticket.  Cleanest room award.

Team Hoat (1/2 horse 1/2 goat) was the best.  Sweetest girls.  They made my stay a delight.  They also dressed me up as a Hoat and had me skip around and make funny noises in front of everyone too.

This was a once in a lifetime experience for my girl and I’m so happy I was able to spend part of it with her.

Coffee table set-up

Changing things around…AGAIN.

But, can we take a minute to talk about the TJ’s ranunculas I picked up?

My favorite!

Sipping that extra cup of coffee.

IMG_0726

The worst part of my Saturday morning…..

Getting up to grab my wallet.  I need to memorize my card number again.

IMG_0724

I decided to organize my closet and utilize the hallway closet that we don’t use.

IMG_0729IMG_0731

That’s what I get for shopping at Walmart..lol.

IMG_0732

We took a break for burgers

IMG_0733

And a car wash….while it rained.  Ha!

IMG_0736

Pig walking

IMG_0739

Then back to tackle the closet.

With a bud light lime 🙂

IMG_0742

I really need to KonMarie again.  Since moving last fall, my closet has gotten out of hand.  I no longer have a walk in….it’s to sad.

IMG_0745

Drum roll……

The final product.

Now I can see all my money hanging.  LOL!  Bay said I have problems.

{weekend notes}

Good Morning! I can’t remember the last time I wrote morning. I’m no ally scrambling at 4pm to get this post live. Today is a special Monday. At 8am, I’ll be headed to Occidental, CA with Bays 6th grade class for one week of camp. Bays so excited she could hardly sleep. Me, on the other hand, savored every last minute in my nice, warm, cozy bed lol. Have a great week and keep your eye out for a week dedicated to Trader Joe’s. Each day will be a new TJ’s recipe. Hope you like it.

Intentions for the week:

  • Survive Alliance Redwoods 6th grade camp – such a cool experience as a parent
  • NO online shopping for a week (no phone service will help with that) – EPIC FAIL!!!
  • Find the perfect one piece #mombod – found it and I’m gonna tell you all about it
  • Come up with a cute Dime-A-Dip dessert – Bay made the cutest pig cake
  • March budget spreadsheet…..just a little late – done
  • ONLY 1 grocery store trip.  Unless I run out of wine 🙂 – hit TJ’s once…record breaking
  • Tackle my closet – feels so good to see all my money hanging again
  • Figure out a new way to organize shoes – bought some organizers, stay tuned!
  • Clean out the pantry – done
  • Make a yummy granola – coming next week, maybe?

Last weeks Intentions: {weekend notes}

Highlights from the weekend……

Friday we headed up the hill to spend the weekend in snowy Lake Tahoe.

Pit stop at Strawberry Lodge. It’s a tradition. Minus the blizzard.

Waking up to lots of fresh snow.

The road had a little snow too.

I braved cold toes to get this shot lol. I could resist. Our cabin, the cabin my grandpa built, is a natural beauty.

Snowshoeing was added to the Winter To-Do’s list, not 100% intending to actually do it though. You see, I kinda hate the snow. I’ve never been a fan of snow sports. But I’m always up for an adventure.

Happy last Friday of February.  Cray, right?  Ready for the weekend?  Me too!  We don’t have much planned and I’m really looking forward to sleeping in and going with the flow.  I was busy marking things off my list this week.  My BIG to-do list.  You know, that one with all the big adulting things.  Got a new windshield…finally.  Mine has been cracked for over a year.  Ha.  True story – Bay + I wear sunglasses when we go through the car wash, because one time I envisioned the windshield shattering in our faces.  Yet, I didn’t replace it?   We just wear sunglasses…problem solved….lol.   I got a new phone.  If you know me, then you know it’s been long overdue.  We are currently working on naming him.  It’s a silver phone, which seems so masculine.  So, we’re calling it a him.  Scheduled an Edward Jones appointment.  Wheeled and dealed with Dish for a lower monthly payment….it always works.  Try it!  Skipped the gym this morning and deep cleaned my house from 5am – 7am.  Rollin into the weekend with a clean house is a must!  It feels so damn good.  Anyway, now that all that adulting is out-of-the-way, I’m ready to get this weekend started!!!

5 things on my mind……

ONE – TJ’s Haul + Menu // What would you guys think about me sharing my TJ’s haul and weekly menu?  Basically giving you a grocery list and recipes.  Showing you how I use all the fun finds from Trader Joe’s.  From breakfast to lunch and dinner ideas.  The cauliflower crust pizza I made this week.  Did you see it in my instagram stories?  That one will for sure be first up.  Ohhh, and how about halibut tacos with TJ’s delish green goddess salad dressing + roasted corn salad?

Back to my question…..

Is that something you all would be interested in?  I’m thinking about possibly dedicating a week to it.  Which will be a lot of work for my ass.  Ha!  But, for you, I’d do it.  If you’re into that kind of thang!

I’m going to keep this one short and sweet……

Tuesday, January 2nd marked the 1st day of Kaia Fit Woodland BRIK!

I didn’t want to do it!  I’ve been MIA since September-ish.  That’s a LONG time!

Melika made me…lol!  Honestly I love her for it.  She always knows when I need it the most.  Thank you Melika, for pushing me (actually shoving) Ha!

{elf on the damn shelf // week 2}

IMG_5311

Okay mama’s, the big question of the day…..

How did week #1 go?  Did you forget to move the Elf on the Damn Shelf more times that you didn’t?

OMG…me too!

I never once remembered to move the Elf on the Damn Shelf the night before.  Every. Single. Morning. I came racing down the stairs as I heard Bay’s alarm go off.  Thank GOD I made this little guide/ideas post last week, because if came in handy.  I used it for each day.  How about you?  Did you find it helpful for the days you were just ready to say fuck it?  He’s not moving for the rest of the damn week?

Well, if so…I’m here to hook you up with 7 more easy ideas to get you through week #2.  This is what I like to call Hell Week.

The week where you just want to throw in the towel.

Don’t!  It’s for the kids, remember?  It’s the Holidays.  Think of all the memories you’re making for them.  And remember, one day, wayyyy down the road (better be) they will have to do this for their kids too.

I’m baking on that phone call…..

“Mom, you really did this shit for 25 frickin days?!?!”

Okay, let’s get to Week #2

Elf on the Damn Shelf Week #2

Supplies needed:

  • cheerios
  • leftover mini marshmallows from last week
  • a note: “HELP!”
  • box of candy canes
  • a note: “I have hidden 6 candy canes in the room.  Can you find them in 1 minute or less?”

Day #1

UR MOM IS HOT!  Sorry, I had to.  You’re a MILF and you know it 🙂  Our Elf on the Damn Shelf is a girl.  And I’m still 100% doing this.  Have a good sense of humor.  Or your kids wont…ha!  Promise this will make them giggle.  Then they’ll probably just eat all the Cheerios and go on about their merry day.

milf (1).jpg

Day #2

Yesterday was so funny that you deserve an easy day.  Shove that Elf on the Damn Shelf in a stocking and call it a day.

See you tomorrow fucker!

elf-stocking_e28uzs

Day #3

Remember last week when I told you to save 1/2 of the bag of marshmallows?  Pull them out of hiding.  Hopefully they aren’t all hard and stale.  Even if they are, it’s totally OK.  Let’s give that little jerk a marshmallow bubble bath.  Don’t drown him, k!

Again, remember to use a sink you’re not planning on using for the next 24 hours.  A bowl next to the sink will do the trick too!

Day #4

Last week’s Intentions : {weekend notes}

Here’s a peek at our weekend….

Dinner + a Movie //

IMG_2691

Dinner at Symposium in Davis.  How is it that there is a pizza place that I’ve never even heard of?  The food was fantastic.  Lots of delicious options, but you know me, I stick to the pizza.  We ordered the Yianni’s Special.  Bacon + sausage + salami + pepperoni + olives + shrimp + mushrooms + fresh tomatoes.  I will be going back.

The Greek salad – bomb.

Oh and the Spanko Triopita was so good……

SPANAKO TIROPITA –  Filo dough basted with butter and stuffed
with spinach and feta cheese, baked in the oven until golden brown

It was like a savory baklava.

Speaking of baklava, the Corbett babes invited me over for another Baklava making night next month. #happyaf

And I watched American Made.  Remember it was like the ONLY think on my to-do list for the weekend?

AMERICAN-MADE-movie-poster

I didn’t realize until the movie started that it was a biographical film, which made it so much more interesting.

Barry Seal was just an ordinary pilot who worked for TWA before he was recruited by the CIA in 1978. His work in South America eventually caught the eye of the Medellín Cartel, associated with Pablo Escobar, who needed a man with his skill set. Barry became a drug trafficker, gun smuggler and money launderer. Soon acquiring the title, ‘The gringo that always delivers’.

Running Group //

Toni + I completed our first day with the running group.  We met at Dave Douglass Park (98 + El Dorado) go to Woodside Park.  Then back.  I believe it was a 1.5 mile loop.  We did run/walk intervals.  Which we’ve done in the past.  Together.  That’s pretty much why we are doing it now.  Kaia posted about this 5K training for the Running of the Turkey’s through the Community Center.  I emailed Toni….”should we do it, for old times sake”.  Her reply “Signed Up!”  I’m so happy we’re doing it together again.  It’s nice to chat + get in a little exercise at the same time.  Typically when we get together, we are tipping wine glasses over conversation…haha.
