Last week’s Intentions : {weekend notes}
Here’s a peek at our weekend….
Dinner + a Movie //
Dinner at Symposium in Davis. How is it that there is a pizza place that I’ve never even heard of? The food was fantastic. Lots of delicious options, but you know me, I stick to the pizza. We ordered the Yianni’s Special. Bacon + sausage + salami + pepperoni + olives + shrimp + mushrooms + fresh tomatoes. I will be going back.
The Greek salad – bomb.
Oh and the Spanko Triopita was so good……
SPANAKO TIROPITA – Filo dough basted with butter and stuffed
with spinach and feta cheese, baked in the oven until golden brown
It was like a savory baklava.
Speaking of baklava, the Corbett babes invited me over for another Baklava making night next month. #happyaf
And I watched American Made. Remember it was like the ONLY think on my to-do list for the weekend?
I didn’t realize until the movie started that it was a biographical film, which made it so much more interesting.
Barry Seal was just an ordinary pilot who worked for TWA before he was recruited by the CIA in 1978. His work in South America eventually caught the eye of the Medellín Cartel, associated with Pablo Escobar, who needed a man with his skill set. Barry became a drug trafficker, gun smuggler and money launderer. Soon acquiring the title, ‘The gringo that always delivers’.
Running Group //
Toni + I completed our first day with the running group. We met at Dave Douglass Park (98 + El Dorado) go to Woodside Park. Then back. I believe it was a 1.5 mile loop. We did run/walk intervals. Which we’ve done in the past. Together. That’s pretty much why we are doing it now. Kaia posted about this 5K training for the Running of the Turkey’s through the Community Center. I emailed Toni….”should we do it, for old times sake”. Her reply “Signed Up!” I’m so happy we’re doing it together again. It’s nice to chat + get in a little exercise at the same time. Typically when we get together, we are tipping wine glasses over conversation…haha.

Benny Bear //
Watching Benny play soccer was a highlight, that’s for sure ♥
Masterpiece //
Steve’s Pizza Salad bar smothered in ranch dressing + their bomb.com croutons. Heaven!
The Big Sick //
If you want to cry your face off, I suggest you rent The Big Sick! It will make you do just that. That’s what happens when you clear your DVR and you have nothing else to watch.
Slow Mornings //
Sipping coffee curled up on the couch. Homemade avocado toast. Pretty much makes for a perfect slow morning.
Take a Hike //
One of my {Fall To-Do’s} was to pay Pena Adobe a visit. So, that’s what we did. I convinced my Mom to go with me.
YOU GOT THIS!!!
I took this picture (below) near the main entrance gate. See that tower in the middle of the picture. On the second peek. That’s where this uphill trail takes you. You get up there and you have a 360 degree view. During the spring, everything is so green and gorgeous. If you’ve never tackled Pena Adobe before, I think you should!
So rewarding when you’re done. Ask my mom!
Post Hike Rewards //
We stopped for a cold one at Green River Brewing & Taproom in Winters. What a cool spot. I swear, Winters just gets better and better.
River over the bridge, you’ll find this hidden gem. I think the bartender said they’ve been over for about 2 months now. I just heard about it last week. And since we were in the neck of the woods, we thought what the hell.
They have self-serve taps. Lots of them! It’s hard to make a decision. You know me and decisions! FML!
We shared the pesto Portobello mushroom sandwich and it was so yummy! And take a look at those fries. They didn’t suck at all.
Volleyball Camp //
I snuck in a little early to spy on my girl at her Dynamix Volleyball Camp.
They were having a blast. And I LOVE that they do a group shot after each class.
KUWTK //
After dinner at the Fricke’s…..THANK YOU Garrett + Alex! Bay and I got in bed to do our Sunday night thing. Keeping up with the Kardashians. Don’t hate! We love it…lol!
Good shit //
I don’t typically share random shit like this on a Monday, but when you find that some of your favorite closet items are on super sale….you share that shit!!!
The gingham one shoulder top I wore here
Gingham one-shoulder ruffle top
Currently marked down 70% to $19.99. That’s a good deal. And it’s a great top! And I wish that’s what I paid for it..lol!
Another great sweater that I’ve been wearing on repeat….
AEO SOFT & SEXY PLUSH LACE-BACK SWEATSHIRT
Marked down to $33. Another price tag that I wish I paid. The lace back is super cute and the sweater is so soft and comfy. It’s one of those sweaters you change into as soon as you walk through the door. But, it’s actually cute so you don’t mind if someone catches you in it…lol. Some of my kickin it sweaters are pretty embarrassing.
And last but definitely not least….
I found the high rise 721 Levi’s on super sale.
Levi’s® Womens 721 High Rise Skinny
I’m talking $36! I grabbed a pair in “make or break” pictured below. But they come in lots of color options. I feel like they run a little small. I ordered a size up! No shame in my game…Ha. I also wore them twice this weekend and again today. I may even write a post about them too!!! #ilovelevis
Best part –
They are from Zappos. Meaning, if you order them today. Then you’ll have them tomorrow!! And shipping is FREE!!!
Ok my friends, I gotta go and make shit happen. Have a great day!!!
xoxo stacyb
I love this! What an awesome idea you have here.
