{giveaway}

A couple of things happened this week…..

  1. I got some new blog followers.  Not a shit ton, but a few.  THANK YOU!
  2. I also got all Martha Fucking Stewart last night after a few glasses of wine.

And I’m so crazy thankful for all my loyal readers + friends + family that continued to support this little space that I love so dearly.  So today I’m doing a fun little giveaway.

Who wants to add one of these herb gardens to their kitchen window SILL (ha, for those of you that follow my instagram stories) BIG shout out to my Mom for the corrections this morning.

I white washed these terra-cotta pots and it was instant love.  I needed something not so terra cotta-y for my kitchen and this worked out just as I had hoped.  I hope you love it too!

{what i ate}

What I ate?  #wia?

What happened to what I wore?  Ha!  If you follow my instagram stories, then you’d notice that I posted all my meals yesterday.  #hellafoodpics

I’ve been asked over and over about what I eat while on BRIK.  I’m currently right smack dab in the middle of a sugar cleanse, which seems to be a huge topic lately.  The question I get on a daily:

What the fuck do you eat?

Ha.  Food is always a topic when I’m dieting or cleansing.  ALL that’s on my mind is what I’m going to eat next.  My girlfriend Sarah and I email/snapchat our sugar-free meals to each other too…lol.  The struggle is real.

So, I documented yesterday.  Sorry for all you peeps who could give a shit.

Did you know that yesterday was ditch day?  I will not be attending ditch day.  Not yesterday, not today, not tomorrow.  I got goals!!!

First thing first, I start each day with a shot of apple cider vinegar (ACV) + a cup of hot lemon water.  Even the weekends.  I swear you get used to the ACV taste after a while.  I don’t mind it at all anymore.

Breakfast –

It’s ALWAYS the same.  Egg over easy.  1/4 cup roasted sweet potato.  1 cup spinach.  Salsa or tapatio.  1 tablespoon almond cheese.  2 slices avocado.

I literally could eat this everyday and never get sick of it.

I wish I could go back to rotation smoothies in the breakfast game, but I burnt myself out BIG TIME.  I decided that after my sugar cleanse, I’m going to try again.

I truly believe in the weight watcher rule: “if you bite it, you write it”  or in my case, log it.  I swear my My Fitness Pal.  And Mallory, my Kaia BRIK coach can view my food log and give me feedback.  (ignore the gin + beers Mal)

I’ve started a really, really bad habit of stopping at Starbucks (almost every morning) for a grande black pike.  I use my mobile app and either stop after the gym or have my sidekick run in and grab it for me.  They now know Bay by her name.  All bad.  Maybe when I’ve used all my Starbucks gift cards and have to start paying out of my own pocket, I will go back to homemade coffee?  We shall see.

{turmeric roasted cauliflower soup}

I realized, after writing yesterday’s post, how depressing it was.  I was in no way shape or form having or looking for a pity party.  I re-read it last night and thought….dammnnnn, that sucked.  Yes, I gained some weight.  Shit – Oprah said her average Holiday gain is 10 lbs.  So, I’m good with my 4 lbs.  I just wanted to share the truth.  The truth is, I’m human and my fitness goals are not easy.  This shit takes time!  I’m bound and determined to get back on tack.  Luckily I have all the tools right at my finger tips.  There is no doubt in my mind that my next results post will be my very best!

Just wanted to clear that up!

Ok, so now onto the recipe…..

If you haven’t jumped on the turmeric bandwagon yet, you really should.  Known as a superfood, turmeric has been used for centuries for healing.

Benefits of turmeric:

  • fighting inflammation
  • as an antioxidant
  • protects the heart in various ways
  • helpful for arthritis
  • braIn boosting
  • may be helpful for fighting diabetes + cancer

Reason enough to start adding turmeric to your day, right?  I’m sold!!!

I want to buy a bottle of turmeric and give it to everyone I love and tell them, “use this shit!”

Beyond all that, turmeric is a delicious ingredient when added to your favorite homemade dishes.

This is where I share the yummy soup that I found on Skinny Taste last week.

Turmeric roasted cauliflower soup.  I know, it sounds all healthy and shit.  But, trust me.  It’s good!  You could add some crumbled bacon.  Or pesto as a topper.  Make it yours!  If you follow the recipe as is, it is Kaia friendly + dairy-free + gluten-free, vegan + whole30 + paleo!  Dannnggg!

Here’s what you’ll need:

{goodbye 2016 + 34}

Not only has 2017 arrived, but today marks my 35th year of life.  THIRTY FUCKING FIVE!

Don’t think for a second I’m going to feed you my “new year, new me” bullshit.  I didn’t just wake up a new person today or on January 1st. (as Courtney Kerr said best)  I’m still the same girl who is guaranteed to drink a little too much + drop a few too many f bombs + has some questionable morals + eats pizza on the regular.

Nothing has changed.

I’m also not going to write about my “new years resolution” either.  You either hate resolutions or you embrace them.  I do neither.

What the new year + turning 35 did, is allow me to look at my high’s + low’s of 2016!   It was  a roller coaster ride at times!  Full of incredible experiences, but also hands down the biggest challenges. Extraordinary highs paired with some of the lowest lows.  In a whirlwind of events, it has taken my breath away, I’ve swallowed A LOT of pride and had my ass truly humbled.

I learned so much this year about who actually stood in my corner. I became really aware of those who will show up for me.  Those that I want to take along for the ride.

{giveaway}

Sometimes, just sometimes, I like to get all Martha F’n Stewart and make cute shit.  I’ve really been wanting to step up my Fall front porch game.  Obvi I hit up Pinterest for some ideas and you guys….I found it.  I not only found it.  I mastered it.  Over the last week I’ve been busting out concrete pumpkin planters.

I’m so very thankful for all my loyal readers + friends + family + kaia girls that have supported xoxostacyb over the last year.  So today I’m going to do a fun little giveaway.

Who wants to add this succulent filled concrete pumpkin to their front porch?

{37 random facts about me}

oneyear_1x.gif

1 year ago today, I hit “publish” for the first time and officially launched xoxostacyb.com. {weekend notes} went live and I was so crazy fucking nervous.  A part of me feels like I’ve had this blog FOREVER and the process of writing, creating and sharing with you all has become a normal part of my life that I love and enjoy.  Another part of me can’t even believe it’s been one whole year and feels like I’m still soooo new to this whole blogging world with lots of things still to learn.

222 blog posts and 83,822 views later.  Two hundred and twenty-two posts peeps!

These numbers are so dope, I really can’t believe how far I’ve come in 12 months.  It completely blows my mind.

So today I’m going to get a little personal.  In true Stacy TMI fashion.

This girl has my heart.  My whole heart ♥

FullSizeRender (9).jpg

I was running late this morning.  Typical.  Bailey of course was ready and waiting in the car.  Most likely recording her 86th musically video of the week (she’s obsessed).  I was a total bitch.  Again, typical.  I didn’t pack lunches last night.  Decided to drink wine and watch Southern Charm instead.  Our Farm Fresh To You produce shipment was on the porch, full of ants.  To top it off, I’m having a really bad hair day…FUCK.

Then……

{baby, write this down….}

Baby, write this down, take a little note to remind you in case you didn’t know….

Had to throw a little George (my boyfriend) in there 🙂

I’m ringing in the new year with a new gorg planner.  In years past, my planners were borderline embarrassing.  Falling apart + too small + so messy.  Cory bought me this beauty for Christmas.  Definitely one of my top favorite gifts this year.  Not only is it easy on the eyes, but it’s the most functional planner I’ve ever owned.  There is just something to be said about physically writing shit down.   Is it me, or do you think that sometimes it’s easier to remember these dates once you’ve hand written them down?  I would die without my iPhone, don’t get me wrong, but I cant trust the calendar on it.  Maybe it’s just my thing?  There is even a spot where I can log my food + weekly meal plan too.  BONUS!!  Visually, I need a month in a view…and this one’s got it all.
