The Faux Pumpkin Centerpiece DIY was born last week. I typically stick with the real deal when it comes to pumpkins. I just love real pumpkins. The colors. The textures. I legit cannot get enough…Ha! But, if you remember from last year, I had a little mishaps with the REAL pumpkin centerpiece. Although it was fucking gorgeous, it almost ruined my life.

Okay, I may be exaggerating a little bit.

It rotted out. I picked it up to move it and the whole pumpkin melted in my hands. All over my carpet + dining room table. The smell that came off that thing could probably kill some kind of small animal. It was horrific. Ha! I shared a photo of it below for old times sake.

So, I went to Pinterest to fine a way to get that same pumpkin centerpiece feel. Without putting my home in danger.

And the most simple + cutest little pumpkin arrangement was born.

It may not be a real pumpkin, but I love it equally.

This pumpkin of hydrangea has been moved all over the house. From the kitchen counter. To the dining room table. It’s currently living on my coffee table.

The fun thing is – you can customize it with any color faux pumpkin. Any flowers you love. You can change it out weekly. Or shoot, stick with faux flowers and you don’t have to think about it again.

Materials Needed:

Here’s what you do:

Place the mouth of the mason jar over the top of the faux pumpkin. Using a pencil draw and exaggerated circle. You want it a little larger to make it easy to remove the mason jar to empty + refill water.

Or you don’t even need a mason jar if sticking with all faux stems.

Fill the mason jar with water and slide it into the cavity of the pumpkin.

Place the eucalyptus all around the pumpkin. Top with hydrangea. Lastly insert berry stems.

Give it a spin and fill in with additional eucalyptus if needed.

And there you have it. A pumpkin centerpiece that will last all season long. And if you store it properly, next year too!

Remember my real pumpkin centerpiece from last year? Remember it rotted out in 2 days and almost ruined my dining room table? And left a horrible stench in my house for weeks? Yep, that’s what prompted this DIY centerpiece this year…lol!
