May you never be too grown to search the skies on Christmas Eve ♥
The struggle is real when you’ve got a tween. Does Elf On The Damn Shelf even come to our house this year? Or do you donate her? Pack her up in storage? I’ve hinted about the Elf and haven’t really gotten a response.
Trying to come up with new age appropriate traditions. No more Polar Express. Letters To Santa. Pictures on Santa’s lap. So, what to do to continuing making the season extra magical?
Felt Mistletoe // Pottery Barn Stocking (Bay’s is 12 years old)
So I decided to make Christmas extra magical in a different way. Bringing our old Holiday decor to her bedroom. Who doesn’t want to sleep under white twinkle lights strung through garland?
The lighting is awful in Bay’s room so it’s really hard to see the white snow flocking on the garland.
Let’s chat flocked garland. Remember my DIY from Instagram stories? This is where that garland found its new home. I was searching for flocked garland for over a week. Found some, don’t get me wrong. Just not in my price range. Found this very inexpensive branch garland at Walmart for $2.38. For 9 frickin feet. Done! Found the snow spray and thought, lets DIY it and see what happens. Considering the price tag, I was game to give it a shot.

9′ Non-Lit Branch Garland($2.38) // Santa Winter White Christmas Snow Spray // Micro Lights
Other than the garland the only new items I purchased……
I think my grand total came in under $50!
60″x50″ Chenille Throw Blanket // Santa Pillow

Mini Tree came from Target years ago. We DIY’ed the snow globe years ago. The reindeer is from Serendipity Boutique.
I stick little candy treats in some of the pockets of the advent calendar. Not everyday. Just every once in a while when I actually remember lol.
Santa Advent Calendar (on sale for $19)// Pottery Barn Advent Calendar options
Our favorite classic Christmas Books. The Night Before Christmas + Merry Christmas Stinky Face. We still read The Night Before Christmas every Christmas Eve at bedtime. The tradition was started when Bay was a toddler ♥
We stayed up till midnight playing with our old Christmas decorations. Oohing and aahing over all the memories that we’ve stored in the tubs over the years.
Just a mom over here doing anything I can to keep the magic in Christmas ♥
