Today I’m sharing a couple easy Halloween treat ideas! I posted the Monster Rice Krispy Treats on my Instagam stories last weekend and got lots of messages asking for me to write a post. So, here we go…..
First off, you can’t make Monster treats without the help of eyeballs. Edible version. Candy eyeballs, that is. They are pretty much the best baking invention ever, don’t you think? What kid doesn’t want to chew an eyeball? Ha.
You can pick up these Wilton candy eyeballs just about anywhere these days. Target + Walmart + most grocery stores in the baking isle. They come in 3 different sizes too. This package comes with about 60 pieces and cost roughly $3.50.
I always have a package of 1/2 used eyeballs in my pantry from random baking projects.
When it comes to whipping up treats for parties or #hellakids, I skip the homemade steps and keep it simple. Boxed brownies + pre-made rice krispy treats. Once they’re smothered in sprinkles + frosting + chocolate, no body can tell the difference anyway.
I showed Bay these adorable Monster Rice Krispy Treats on Jenny Cookies instagram last week and she made me promise we’d give them a shot!
Monster Rice Krispy Treats //
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Kellogg’s Rice Krispy Treats, unwrapped
- White chocolate or white chocolate chips
- Green food coloring
- Brown sprinkles
- Candy eyeballs
Here’s what you do:
Line a baking sheet with wax paper.
Dump sprinkles into a bowl.
Melt white chocolate. (I made 16 treats and used the whole bag of chips)
Once melted, add food coloring.
Dip the top half of the rice krispy treat into melted chocolate.
Then quickly dip the tip into brown sprinkles.
Lay on the lined baking sheet.
Add 2 eyeballs to each treat.
Why stop at 2 eyeballs? Hell, add 3. Add 4! There’s not rules. Monsters can have as many eyeballs as you’d like 🙂
Repeat!
Not too bad, right?
Monster Brownies //
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Boxed brownie mix (family size/9×13) and all ingredients listed
- Halloween sprinkles
- Candy eyeballs
Here’s what you do:
Prepare brownies as directed on the box.
Before you bake them, top with lots of sprinkles.
Bake and allow to cool.
Cut brownies into squares.
Stick two candy eyeballs into each brownie square.
And that’s it! Pretty easy, huh?
Kids flippin dig them. Nothing fancy. Just eyeballs 🙂
Just go buy some eyeballs and let your kids decorate all the desserts till Halloween. They’ll love you for
