{easy turkey chili}

Okay, I know that by now we all have our fave chili recipe. But, sometimes you just gotta switch it up a bit. With these cooler Cali temps, I’m craving all the soups + chilies right now.

Cory + I made this super simple. Super healthy turkey chili last week and it was so good, so I’m here to tell you all about it.

{easy turkey chili}

Here’s what you’ll need:

2 teaspoons olive oil
1 onion, chopped
1 pound lean ground turkey
4 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons cumin
1 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 – 28oz. can diced tomatoes
1 1/4 cups chicken broth
2 – 15oz cans dark red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 – 15oz can cannellini beans, rinsed and drained
1 – 6oz. can tomato paste
Optional Topping: shredded cheese + avocado + cilantro + sour cream + green onions

Here’s what you’ll do:

In a large stock pot add olive oil + brown turkey with the chopped onion till no longer pink.

Add remaining ingredient (minus the toppings). Allow to simmer for 1 hour or longer. You can also throw everything in a slow cooker and set to low till ready for dinner.

When ready to serve, add all your favorite toppings and dive in!
