What’s on you’re list in intentions for the week?
And now, highlights from the weekend………
MAKING A HOUSE A HOME //
It’s finally beginning to feel like home.
I’ve got a table for my coffee! Topped with white tulips, which make me smile every single time I walk in the living room!
And this table runner can only mean ONE thing……
I found a dinning room table! No more living room floor picnics!
I sold my old dinning room table at our garage sale. Probably sold it for what I paid for it too. Considering I bought it back in 2001ish. Swear! It was time for something different.
I had NO idea how happy this table would make me. I had a little extra pep in my step once I got it all put together and decorated.
I busted out the linen napkins. Gold flatware. Gold rimmed glasses. Wicker chargers.
I’ll share more details later this week. I got lots of Instagram messages wanting to see more pics! Hold on tight.
Oh, and we have the cutest morning guests at this house now 🙂 Claire just loves the babies.
FOOTBALL //
Not to be mistaken by the one on TV. I only watch the one at Pioneer High. The one where I can watch my nephew do what he loves!
Goooo Joe!!!
Bay spotted her friend Lauren too. The MOST adorable cheerleader I’ve ever seen. Except for the fact she looks like a teenager.
PARTY TIME //
We celebrated cousin Danny’s 40th at Blue Note with the family ♥
Boom cheers with GG!
Drank wine with Mom + watched Snatched!
Bay + Ruby made gigantic milkshakes and danced
Mani. Pedi. Yeti.
LINK //
Link, our rabbit, finally came out of his hutch Friday night. He wasn’t a fan of the move. Bay opened the cage and took him out, to be honest. Ever since, he’s been happy as can be. He’s such a pimp too. We sat in the house and watched him show all the neighborhood cats who’s boss.
Right under his cage is his new spot.
We felt so bad that we spruced up the back and added new plants and flowers. Maybe that’s why Link is so much happier now 🙂
Grammy even bought him a housewarming gift. His very own rosemary plant. In case you haven’t read before, Link lived in the big ass overgrown rosemary plant at the old house. He always smelled like rosemary too. I kinda dig it.
PROVISIONS //
I got my groove back in the kitchen. I cooked all weekend long. And I loved every second of it.
Caprese Egg Cups
I legit made them 3 times over the weekend. Twice for myself and once for my mom. Because they were so bomb, I wanted her to see what I was talking about. She agreed!
I’ll share the exact recipe later this week.
Oh yeah, it was supposed to me a microwave recipe. Forgot that I no longer have a microwave in the house. So far, we haven’t missed it. Don’t get me wrong, I may go buy one tomorrow, but for now I’m enjoying coming up with different ways to re-heat leftovers.
Did anyone else take advantage of Nugget’s Secret Special over the weekend?
Fresh, Wild-Caught Alaskan King Salmon for 1/2 off! I bought more than I needed. I’m thinking of making salmon BLT’s with the leftovers…Yummm!
Lemon Thyme Roast Chicken
This is worthy of its own blog post. Simple. Fresh. Delicious.
I served it along side mashed potatoes + roast asparagus + green salad (loaded with radishes) + asiago cracked pepper pugliese bread from nugget.
Winner winner chicken dinner!!!
Grilled peaches with honey topped with vanilla bean ice cream for dessert.
We even stopped at Burger Saloon for dinner one night too. I heart Burger Saloon!
Shared the Black & Bleu
Cajun blackened seasoning, bleu cheese crumbles, caramelized onion relish, oven-roasted Roma tomatoes, spicy aioli
Delish!
We even took a field trip to Sac to run some errands. And found The Sacramento Sweets Co. in Old Sacramento. This place is the jackpot of sweets.
And let’s take a minute to chat about the Double Header!
Double the trouble.
Double time.
Each flavor is swirled with vanilla ice cream too! And the cone says Dandy…HA!
READING //
Then my homegirl Nikki text me Sunday evening……
“Starting the 15th 30-day sugar cleanse. Minimal booze. You in?”
I may have yelled FUCCCKKKK really loud. Then responded….
“I’m in!”
Then I picked up this book and started reading all the recipes that caught my eye. It’s going to be a lonnnggg ass 30 days peeps!
After a weekend/month of overindulging, it’s time!
WATCHING //
Snatched – so dumb.
All Eyes On Me – equally dumb.
The verdict – waste of 4 hours of my life and waste of $2.70 to Redbox!
We ended the weekend with dinner honoring our favorite Grandparents on Grandparents Day ♥
Today is a tender day for our nation. None of us will ever forget where we were and what we were doing when tragedy struck. To all the children, wives, husbands, parents, friends, siblings who lost someone, they have not been forgotten!! And to all of those that have been devastated by these hurricanes, my heart goes out to you! The news just gets harder and harder to watch every day.
