Good morning. Happy Monday. Happy MLK Day. I’m sure most of you are home from work today. I am not! Ha!
Day #8 of sugar-free. ONLY 12 days to go. Not that I’m counting or anything. It’s been a little tricky, but so far so good.
We had an eventfull yet relaxing weekend. Just how I like them!
Friday night I celebrated my final 35th birthday dinner. It’s officially over. Thank you Sarah P for planning and Nidia + Toni + Rachel for coming to celebrate with me. We don’t see each other nearly enough. Love catching up ♥
And a big shout out to our server at Jinju Sushi! That poor girl accommodated mine + Sarah’s sugar-free requests. It wasn’t easy. Sushi may be at the top of my list once I’m back to hittin’ the sugar again!!!
Can we take a minute to talk about Rachel?!?! I love that she’s always rocking a new look or style. I never know what hair-do she’ll show up with. Always wearing something super trendy and cute. But look at her scarf? She draped it around her neck and let it hang on each side of her shoulder.
She’s a fucking trendsetter. I already found a scarf and will be bitting Rachel’s style this week! Love you Rach!.
Final Final at Morgan’s (for some of us) lol!
I checked out Asha Urban Baths. I wanted to go last weekend and happy I didn’t. The girl checking us in Saturday morning said the line was out the door. With over an hour wait. F that! We pretty much had the place to ourselves, other than the Jacuzzi. My sore body loved every second of this little oasis.
A warm soak is RELAXING and NOURISHING. A cold plunge is ENERGIZING and HEALING. Sweating in a steam or sauna is CLEANSING and SOOTHING. Quality time alone or with friends is RICH and REWARDING.
You check in. Slip into your suit. Then you’re free to check out any of the amenities in the facility. You can kick it all day, if you’d like. We did the “dropping in” $25 one time visit.
The pool on the left is a cold plunge. The right is a Jacuzzi.

We did as recommended….
Steam room (15 minutes)
Sauna (15 minutes)
Cold plunge (twice)
Jacuzzi
So so relaxing! They also offer massages + yoga classes. If you want a super relaxing day, I highly recommend checking out Asha Urban Baths!! Bring your flip-flops + towel + big water bottle and you’re all set!
Thanks for being my road-dog Nikki!! Can’t wait for our next adventure 🙂
We should have taken a before picture
We saw Patriots Day
The 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and the aftermath. Which includes the city-wide manhunt to find the terrorists.
Tragedy strikes on April 15, 2013, when two bombs explode during the Boston Marathon. In the aftermath of the attack, police Sgt. Tommy Saunders (Mark Wahlberg), FBI Special Agent Richard DesLauriers (Kevin Bacon) and Commissioner Ed Davis (John Goodman) join courageous survivors, first responders and other investigators in a race against the clock to hunt down the suspects and bring them to justice.
All I have to say is WOW! I followed the bombing on the news when it happened four years ago. I thought I had a good idea of what happened. I was wrong. There was so much more to it. This movie does a remarkable job re-creating the devastation. The stories of individuals that were impacted. The emotions the first responders endured. One officer stood (for hours) next to an 8-year-old boy who had been killed. To the investigation and manhunt. 3 killed and estimated 264 injured. It was beyond sad, but a great movie all in one. I had a pit in my stomach walking out of the movies 🙁
Saturday night mass + dinner. The absolute peak to my week!!
4 generations sitting around the table ♥
Good company
Good food
Good conversation
GG even approved of my healthy sugar-free dinner.
Zucchini lasagna roll-ups + roasted asparagus + greek salad. I nailed it!!!
Everything was homemade from the marinara sauce to the salad dressing. All sugar-free too!!
Then I treated them to a warm cookie a la mode for being such good sports with my health dinner.
Pig Barn Sundays are Bay’s favorite! This is how our Sunday mornings will be spent till May.
Roadie (Aunt Penny’s pig) + Porky (Ruby’s pig) + Barbie-Q (Bay’s pig)
Bailey and Barbie-Q bonding ♥
Besties + their pigs.
I did a little meal prep. The bacon is for Bay. She wanted bacon + biscuits for breakfast. She loves her carbs just like her mama. I saved the rest to make her BLT’s and bacon turkey sandwiches (her fav) this week. Spiralized carrots + santa fe chicken for lunches + dinners. I hard-boiled eggs. BBQ’ed chicken. Roasted sweet potatoes. Chopped veggies for salads. I’m all set for the week.
While I was busy meal prepping, Bay was busy making cookies……AGAIN!
And you’ll never believe what I did….
Bay asked me to taste her dough to see what I thought. Of course, out of habit, did without hesitating.
Then realized FUUUCCCKKK…I just had sugar. Haha. Not the end of the world, but it was my first slip up. Day 7 I had a bite of chocolate chip cookie dough. And it was amazing. And I will be okay!
Alex + I took the kids to Davis to burn some energy. Woodstocks Pizza for lunch. You guys, I love pizza, remember? It looked and smelled so amazing.
I had a salad.
Bay + Kate rock climbing at Rocknasium . They climbed up and down that wall for over an hour. I think they figured they hit the top 21 times. Best $19 I’ve spent in a long time.
Bailey was asleep before 8pm. So, if you need/want to wear your kiddos out, go to Rocknasium!
Family time + friend time + mother/daughter time. Followed with meal prep + relaxing. A weekend well spent, brings a week of content.
Enjoy your short week (peeps that are not working today)! And cheers to 1 day down (for those of us that are working)!
xoxo stacyb
