The weekend is over. How did that happen so quickly?!?! I miss it already!
I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend doing what you love to do.
Friday night celebration // One of my favorite Yaya’s turned a year older, which calls for a celebration. Happy Birthday Kristine!! Friday happy hour cheers are always the best!
Saturday riding with the cousins! Look how cute Benny is with the training wheels.
Bailey said they all mashed around Prairie City ♥
My Mom + I went out for dinner and a movie ♥ I finally checked out Tower Cafe. Can you believe I’d never been? I can cross that off my must-try list. It was soooo good! We ordered a Thai seafood stew that was served over jasmine rice. TO DIE FOR!!! I can totally see brunching at Tower Cafe this spring/summer. The outside area is fun.
Watched Manchester By The Sea at the Tower Theater , which I’d also never been too. I swear it’s a replica of the State Theater in Woodland.
Here’s a what it’s all about…..
Lee Chandler is a brooding, irritable loner who works as a handyman for a Boston apartment block. One damp winter day he gets a call summoning him to his hometown, north of the city. His brother’s heart has given out suddenly, and he’s been named guardian to his 16-year-old nephew. As if losing his only sibling and doubts about raising a teenager weren’t enough, his return to the past re-opens an unspeakable tragedy.
It was heartbreaking. I’d be laughing then crying. The gut wrenching story was acted out beautifully. I wish the ending was a little better though. When the lights came on, everyone just sat still in their seats. Like it couldn’t be over. We needed more.
Annual Christmas brunch + favorite things exchange. Thanks for hosting + cooking Sarah!!
Favorite Things exchanges are so fun. We set a price limit. Then each person purchases the same item for each guest. The idea it for each guest to go home with all of the other guests “favorite thing.” I was feeling pretty un-creative, so I stuck with one of my favorite things….Starbucks giftcards stuffed in these cute gold dot pouches I picked up at Target. I went home with a bottle of wine + earrings + cozy socks + holiday kitchen towels. I love everything!!
I made this egg dish to go along with Sarah’s bomb.com french toast sticks + sausage. I’ll share this recipe late this week…stay tuned!!
Sunday afternoon we headed to our Seka Hills Winter Wine Club Party. We let Spencer hang out with us too 🙂 His first Seka Hills trip (and many more to come).
At each club party Seka Hills provides complimentary wine + olive oil tasting along with food pairings.
The food was phenomenal!! I wasn’t the slightest bit hungry, but it looked so good I couldn’t pass it up.
Yesterday was the Wine Club December pick-up. Want to see what was wrapped up in that pretty burlap sack?
Olio Nuovo Olive Oil // 2013 Tuluk’a (my favorite) // Beef Jerky // Wildflower Honey (which is going in Bay’s stocking.
Also when you pick-up in the tasting room, you get to take fresh local produce home too. This month we got to choose between golden carrots or beets. They look delish!
If you’re interested in join the wine club, click on the link below for more info and you can sign up right on the Seka Hills website.
Check out this fun Map I found on Instagram over the weekend. So many places that I love to visit all on one map!
I swear I did more than just drink wine + eat all weekend…lol.
