Happy Monday! The weekend is gone and I already miss it so much. All I did this weekend was cook + kick it. Like I kicked it hard. Like chillin like a villain kicked it. More than I have all year. It was so nice.
When I got in my car this morning to drive to work, I realized that I hadn’t left my house in over 24 hours. That NEVER happens. I was a sweatpants wearing, couch sitting, tv watching lazy ass and I loved every second of it.
Today is the day – BIG news at our house…..Bailey has decided to fun for the Plainfield Elementary Student Council Treasurer. I’m so proud of her for wanting to do this and signing-up all on her own.
Bailey said Lauren inspired her which is the sweetest thing ever.
Posters went up today! Speeches next week. Followed by the election. I’m crazy excited for her. Obviously hoping and praying she wins, but knowing it will be a huge learning experience if she doesn’t too. Maybe I can sneak into the school and cast 100 votes!?! Only kidding. Fair and square is the only way I want her to win!
Thank god Korine was over to help with the posters. Come on, how cute are these girls and the posters?!?!
“If it doesn’t make dollars, then it doesn’t make cents”
“Vote for me – Bailey B.”
“123….count on Bailey B for Treasur-y”
I mean, could they be any cuter?
Korine – we have to celebrate after the election, I owe you BIG time ♥
Friends that come over for breakfast and stay for dinner, those are the good ones. The ones you keep forever!
Bailey’s snapchat was proof of our laziness 🙂
I wanted to make a pretty table setting for the season. This is what I came up with.
Eucalyptus is my new favorite. The smell. The pretty leaves. It’s versatile. I have it laying across my table and in vases throughout the house. $6 for a big bunch at the florist. I foresee weekly eucalyptus runs in my future.
After reading millions of reviews, I finally broke down and bought my very own gold flatware. I can’t put into words how much I love and adore them. Yesterday we used them for the first time. I even hand washed them. And I don’t hand wash shit.
I waited for promo codes and pulled the trigger. I currently have a setting for four, but I plan to add more. At $19.99/setting you really can’t beat it. It’s the best I’ve seen so far!
Here are the other items I used for my table setting. World Market has such great deals on all the basics.
Porcelain Plates Sets with Space-Saving Racks // Wine glasses (I use for candles, because they are clearly wayyyy too small for wine) // Buffet Napkins Set of 6
For the table covering, I used polka dot lace that I purchased in the textile dept at Ikea a few years ago. I pull it out all the time. After a bottle of red wine was spilled on it, I’m happy to report that it also washes well…thank god!!!
Friday night’s sunset was insane!!
Breakfast burritos at the Truitt’s Saturday morning. BOMB! Sarah inspired me to make breakfast on the weekends.
Buster’s Barn Party // Buster made some bomb.com carnitas ♥
Just packing leftover with this my main b/slut-cake Allison!
Bailey with her pumpkin patch cupcakes
Bailey loves decorating cupcakes. She had the idea of doing a little DIY for all the readers.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 box Halloween funfetti cake mix
- 1 container vanilla frosting
- orange sugar sprinkles
- green sour punch straws
- toothpick
2 dozen funfetti cupcakes frosted with vanilla icing. From the box and can….lol. Kids don’t know the difference anyway, right?
Dip frosted cupcakes into orange sugar sprinkles.
Using a toothpick, make a deep hole.
Add sour straw (about 1/2 inch) for the stem.
They turn out so cute every time. And they don’t take all day to make!
Have a great day and come back tomorrow for a soup recipe you won’t want to miss!!
xoxo stacyb
