Ahh, long weekend I’ve been waiting for you!  Cheers friends!!

Because it’s Friday and you know I’ve got 5 things on my mind…..

ONE – Remember a while back I posted {bailey texts}?  The power of a simple text message.  How it can turn an otherwise shitting day into a pretty damn good day?  Well I started Monday morning with this message:

Tears, I tell ya.  Happy tears.  No, I feel lucky to call you my friend ♥

It was day #1 of Kaia.  Somehow I over slept and was late.  Story of my life.  To top it off, I was super disappointed with my pre-BRIK weight.  Sounds lame, but I gained 7 lbs and was totally beating myself up over it.  This message came at the most perfect time.  When I needed it.  Fuck the 7 lbs.  I feel great.  I have amazing supportive friends.  They inspire and cheer me on and know when a simple text message can really make an otherwise shitty morning into a pretty damn good week.  Stop what you’re doing.  RIGHT NOW!  Grab your phone, if it’s not already in your hand.  Text a homie or loved one!  Hit send.  Done!  It’s day, sometimes even week changing and takes less than 2 minutes to do.

TWO – I introduced my Mom to snap chat Wednesday night.  We did every filter possible and laughed our asses off.  The voice changer…OMG!   Clearly we are totally sober in this selfie….haha.  You may think my Mom is a good influence, but she’s not.  I was dressed and ready to do my yard work.  Lawn mower out blower out…everything.  My Mom calls – “wanna come over and drink wine?”  I put that mower away and hopped in my car in about 2 minutes flat.  Fuck it!  We drank a shit ton of wine and talked about everything imaginable.  Now that she’s retired, she thinks she can take off to Tahoe for a week and Cabo and all kinds of fun places.  I missed her.  Bailey missed her even more.

THREE – Am I the only one that is willing to drop bills at Target Davis, but not 10 cents for a bag?  Haha!  I refuse.  Why?  I have no idea.  I need to just start taking my own damn bags.  Duuudddee, Target’s women’s section is on fire…AGAIN!  I went it for a card and birthday gift and walked out with neither.  I totally forgot.  So distracted with all the pretties hanging right as I walked in.  I can’t wait to show you what I got!  So much cute shit.  So many #ootd’s coming your way.

 

 

 

 

 

FOUR – I posted a food pic on Instagram the other night.  Remember when I posted food pics all the time?  To be honest, I haven’t been cooking very much.  Now that BRIK is in full swing, meal prep is a MUST.  It’s basically the key to success.  I’m officially back in the kitchen.  Not every night, let’s not kid.  I had to share these Trader Joe’s Salmon Burgers.  They are easy + so good.  Even leftover.

Butternut squash zig-zags can be found in the refrigerated produce section.  Kinda by the pizza crust, only because I know everyone knows where that shit is 🙂  The cooking instructions say to saute, microwave or steam.  I tossed them in olive oil and a little black pepper.  Roasted them on a cookie sheet for about 20 minutes.  BOMB!
