{let’s kon marie}

KonMarie hit Nexflix last week.  And peeps are freaking the fuck out!  Ha!  I have seen some of THE best meme’s and they crack me up.  I’m going to hit Goodwill this weekend…I bet they’ll be stock full of good shit!

I’m all about organizing.  Simplifying.  Decluttering.  If you don’t use it or love it….toss it.  Or as Marie Kondo says “if it doesn’t spark joy” Haha…to be honest, not much sparks a shit ton of joy from me these days.

Anyway, I found this January Organization Calendar and I’ve been following it each day!  It makes hitting all the sections of the house more manageable.

I’ll be posting each day as I tackle the January Organization List!  Stay tuned.

Oh and you can click on the image to print a copy of your own!

Here’s my progress so far:

Day 3 – Fridge //

Items used: Ceramic Egg Crate // SOMA Water Pitcher // Rubbermaid Food Storage 38 Piece Set with Easy Find Lids

Take out all the food.  Toss the expired or shit you don’t/won’t eat.  Wipe EVERYTHING down.  Even the shelves.

I cannot tell you how happy a clean fridge makes me.  TRUST me, you’ll feel the same way.  Then want to move onto the next thing.  Oh, and do the freezer too!

Day 4 – Pantry //

Items used: Cabinet Organizer Shelf Large //  Plastic Containers

Same as the fridge, take everything out.  Throw away half gone boxes, expired.

This also makes me incredibly happy.  But, does it “spark joy”….that is the question.

Day  9 –  Jewelry //

Items Used: 20-Compartment Jewelry Tray in Gold

I threw away about 5 pounds of ugly ass jewelry.  I’ve never purged this before.  I had some dandies, let me tell you.  Bay and I cracked up as I pulled some of my bling’n jewels out to model for her.  And I always have a bunch of half dollars.  I cannot tell you why I keep them here though…ha!

Day 6 + Day 7 + Day 8 Closet + Dresser + Accessories //

I’m making my way though the list.  I did skip Day 6 + Day 7 + Day 8! I’m being a little more realistic.  These tasks will require an entire weekend.  Although I’ve done the KonMarie Method, and my shit is pretty tight, I think we can get rid of some clothing items in our closet.   And If I’m gonna do it.  I’m gonna pull all my shit out and start from scratch.  Remember the time I did KonMarie?  It was actually at my old house.

Shoe Closet //

Items Used: (2) 4-Tier Shoe Rack Storage Organizer

We have an awkward closet upstairs that we weren’t using.  So I turned it into my shoe closet.  Best idea ever!

Closet //

Items Used: Adjustable Hanging Closet Rod // 2-Tier Iron Mesh Utility Rack // 3 Drawer Cart

I also added a double hanging rod in my closet for tops.  Another one of my best ideas ever! Utilizing all the closet space possible!

And a shelf to hold my jean collection.  This photo was taken before I got them all on the shelves…lol.  The plastic roller tubs hold all my gym clothes.

Garment Rack //

Items Used: Garment Rack // Velvet Hangers // Roller Ball Hooks

Lastly, I added a garment rack a few months ago.  We set out our outfits for the week and it makes getting ready in the morning a breeze!!

I invested in velvet no slip hangers.  And we use double shower curtain hooks to hang up our jeans.
