It’s Friiiiiday! But, I got a job and lots of shit to do. I had the best sleep ever last night. And I’m thanking my homegirl Rachel for it. She brought me a Himalayan salt lamp last night and I plugged it in when I went to bed. So many benefits, but the one I was most excited about was the better sleeping part. Something with positive ions in the air? Not really sure if it’s in my head or what, but this ol girl is feeling refreshed AF after seven uninterrupted sleep last night. Cheers to the weekend friends…have a good one.
But first, 5 things on my mind…..
ONE – Homemade Bagels // My DM’s were blowing up Saturday morning for this recipe. You’re going to DIE when you see how easy it is. You will most likely have all the ingredients on hand too. Don’t you love it when that happens? So, this is another Skinny Taste recipe. Except I didn’t follow it completely, and they still turned out so good. And so damn pretty too! Make them for your people this weekend, k?!?!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 egg, beaten
Toppings (optional)
Everything but the bagel seasoning. Sesame seeds. Poppy seeds. Dried onion flakes. Parmesan cheese. Anything goes!
Here’s what you’ll do:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheet with silpat or parchment paper.
Combine flour + baking powder + salt + Greek yogurt with a fork until combined.
Lightly dust flour on a work surface and knead dough a few times. Dough should not leave pieces on your hand when you pull away.
Divide dough into four equal balls. Stick your finger through the center forming a hole.
Brush bagels with egg wash on all sides.
Sprinkle with topping/seasoning of choice.
Bake 25 minutes.
Increase oven temp to 550 degrees and continue to bake for 4 minutes longer.
Please do me a favor. Promise?
You must eat these straight out of the oven. I didn’t even need cream cheese.
Pure heaven!
TWO – No More Baggage // I have never ever used a product that I could actually feel working. Ever! Mark my word. Bloggers have been raving about this product. It’s ALWAYS sold out. Right after New Year, I randomly went to the Dr. Brandt website and they were offering 50% off and this magic potion was IN-STOCK! So, I ordered that shit so quick. It took about 2 frickin weeks to arrive. So crazy worth it though! You squeeze a tiny bit on your finger. Gently pat directly on under-eye bags + dark circles. Allow to dry. Just take a minute. Apply makeup. My concealer glides on so smooth. No creasing. And it works. You can feel it. I can’t say enough about this stuff.
Results to Expect:
- minimizes the appearance of under-eye bags and puffiness
- reduces the look of dark circles
- restores a youthful eye contour for a smooth appearance
- protects from damage caused by irritants and pollutants
In a clinical test conducted on 30 volunteers over 4 weeks:
AFTER 2 MINUTES – SELF-ASSESSMENT TEST
- 100% Reported that product applies smoothly over concealer/make-up
- 100% Saw that product doesn’t cake
- 97% Saw that product doesn’t crease
- 94% Saw that product doesn’t cast over make-up
- 83% Reported that product doesn’t change the color of concealer/foundation
AFTER 4 WEEKS – SELF-ASSESSMENT TEST
- 100% Saw that under-eye area look depuffed
- 100% Saw an immediate smoothing effect on the overall eye area
- 90% Saw that product provides a fresh, rested look
- 97% Saw that the intensity of dark circles decreases
As usual, it’s out of stock on the Dr. Brady website, but I found it at the retailers below:
THREE – Pig Barn // Isn’t it beautiful in the morning? Luckily you can’t smell it though…lol. Just about one week in and Bay is obsessed. We’ve been at the pig barn every day, sometimes twice, since Sunday. I have to admit, they are pretty damn cute when their little. Bay leaves first thing tomorrow morning, so she wanted to get all the time with Rodeo (her pig). And now I’m on pig duty for the next week. Pray for me, k!
Bay’s morning pig helpers.
FOUR – Garage Sale Find // One man’s garbage is another man’s treasure. My Mom + her homegirl Ronda hooked it up last weekend. I mentioned that I’d been looking for a cute 3 piece bistro table set. Without spending a grip. I have the perfect little nook on my front patio and it needed something. Look what they found. For $20! I can’t wait to decorate it with some new plants + pots. This for fall. Maybe some outdoor pillow like this. Sting lights above…love. And I’m sure it will see a lot of this. This table is going to be my project next week 🙂
