{weekend notes}

We had a quick-but-great weekend.

Friends + Family + Easter!

Friday night we celebrate Rachel turning the BIG 35!  I drank margaritas, just as I had hoped to do.  My Dad purposely made reservations in the bar too, knowing we would be there.  I was a little annoyed till he bought our first round…lol.  Thanks Dad!  We had an amazing dinner at Morgans On Main.  The scallop fettuccine special was absolutely to die for.

Happy Birthday Rachel..on 4/20 🙂

Isn’t that one fine wiener bag?!?!

Let’s take a minute to talk about Sarah P’s new zapatos.  I’ve seen so many bloggers post them on Like to Know it, but they are sooo much better in person.  I’m contemplating buying a pair too!  Read the reviews and you’ll want a pair too!

I spent the rest of the weekend preparing for Easter, since I slacked and hadn’t done a single thing.  Totally not like me.  You guys, I didn’t even decorate my house.  Can you believe that shit?  Guess what….not a single person even noticed.

Easter basket shopping + grocery shopping!  I swear by the Hillshire Farm spiral sliced bone-in honey ham.  Trust me and get one next time you make a ham!!

My Easter carrot cake……

I was finishing frosting and decorating minutes before everyone arrrived.  But, I got it done!!

I had originally want to stick bunny ears in the cake.  Had to scratch that idea since I was sooo last-minute.

The food.  Let’s talk about the food.  Other than clothes, food is probably the next thing I talk most about…Ha!

I cooked a ham for the first time.  It was unbelievably easy….how did I not know this?  SO DAMN GOOD too!  I’m going to eat it all week-long and you won’t hear me complain once.  My Mom made Cheesy Potatoes.  I shared the recipe a couple of weeks ago here {friday 5}.  She also supplied a fruit salad (which we all know I didn’t touch) and mini croissants from Raley’s.  In my opinion, you cannot have brunch without mini croissants.  Yumm!  Along side the salad I’m always asked to bring {spinach orzo pasta salad}.  Since my Mom and Sis both wanted to try the {bacon broccoli + potato frittata} I posted last week, I threw that in the mix too.

Benny + Joe + Bay said the old St John’s Preschool grace.  I think it’s safe to say that we all know it by heart at this point ♥

Table full of family makes my heart incredibly full!!

Then it was time to shoot shit!  Not what you typically see in the backyard, but the kids were dying to shoot balloons like we’ve always done in the past.

Followed by a rainy egg hunt.

Look who found the golden egg.  With $20 bucks in it.  I should have looked for it too!!

Candy for dayyyysss.  Bay organizes all her candy and puts them in ziplock bags…lol.  So weird, but it’s probably something I would have done too.

GG + the great-grand kids ♥

We spent the rest of the day binge watching TV and eating Reese’s peanut butter eggs.  I gotta say, it was a good day!

Bailey did about 867 flips on the couch too!

Hope you all had a great Holiday spent with family + lots of food too!!

Ps….today I had my first Starbucks since Ash Wednesday.  It’s been a lonnnnggg 40 days, let me tell ya.  After all the time past, my barista didn’t even forget my order….
