{lemon lip scrub}

Today I’m sharing a lip scrub recipe that you can make at home with kitchen staples that will easily brighten, soften, refresh and moisturize your poor winter lips.  It’s been a long winter and my lips are loving this!

Best part, you have all the ingredients already.  Sugar + honey + oil + scent.

Try it!!  Trust me!

This isn’t just a lip scrub, this could totally be used over the whole body too!

The sugar acts as an exfoliant to smooth chapped, dry lips.  The olive oil, is a super moisturizer that helps the sugar do its work.  You can add any flavor combo your heart desires.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • lemon  essential oil

*NOTE: If you don’t have essential oils on hand, you can always add fresh lemon juice along with a little lemon zest.

Here’s what you do:

In a small bowl combine olive oil + honey + 4 drops of lemon essential oil.

Stir in sugar.  Mix until fully combined with the honey.

Pour into a mini jar and seal it till ready to use or gift to your bestie!

How to use:

Wet lips.  Using a tooth-brush or wash cloth, gently massage lip scrub to your lips.

Try to leave the scrub on for 2 minutes.

Rinse.

Apply your normal lip moisturizer/chap stick.

What I love about this is that you can add or take away just about anything – throw in some brown sugar for a pretty look.  Add a different type of oil…whatever you like 🙂

It’s also a really fun DIY gift.  I even found some super cute printable tags you can print out and tie to the jar.

Your lips will feel so smooth…you will thank me 🙂
