The classic broccoli salad. Everyone’s had a version of this salad before. Some with grapes. Some with almonds. I’ve seen so many different varieties. But this one – it’s sweet, salty + crunchy. A house favorite, for sure. My Mom has been making it for years. It holds up well for leftovers too. Not the healthiest. Put a scoop over your greens and your set. Ps….it’s addicting!!!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 4 heads of broccoli, cut up in bite sized pieces
- 1/2 lb. bacon, chopped and browned
- 1/2 cup red onion, diced
- 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
- 1 cup craisins
- 1 cup mayonnaise (I know, but just trust me)
- 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
- 1/2 cup sugar
Mix all ingredients well and refrigerate overnight.
This salad goes great as any side dish. Give it a shot and let me know how you like it 🙂
