Cheers to Friday!  I hope everyone has a nice relaxing weekend planned.  Whenever I say “we don’t have much planned” I sabotage it and overbook every minute of the 2-days home.  So, I will say – we have a somewhat relaxing weekend planned…lol.  I am 100% looking forward to everything that we have on the calendar thus far.

ONE – Starbucks sells beer + wine?  Where in the hell have I been?  This is unbelievable.  How can one shop carry my two favorite beverages?  So, I guess you tell your friends, hey lets meet at starbucks for wine?  That just sounds silly.  But, if you see me sitting in the corner alone double fisting a venti unsweetened black iced tea + a glass of wine, don’t be surprised.

TWO – Our 2016 pledges threw us a hell of a party last Thursday night.  It was an Oscar theme party.  Red carpet included.  Can you believe all three of the gorgeous girls are in prom dresses.  Although they do look stunning, who in the hell can fit in their damn prom dress?  LOL.  I was awarded the “creative blogger” award.  They even made us gold Omega Nu trophies.  Looking forward to these girls becoming our new sisters in a couple of weeks.  Cheers!!

THREE – Bailey has been invited to attend a GATE Geography Enrichment Program.  I was worried she would say NO WAY.  To my surprise, she is excited to start next month.  Proud mom moment 🙂  I had to share.  I too was a GATE student, but hated it.  My fingers are crossed that she will enjoy it and continue through her school years.

FOUR – Thanks for the book recommendation Nicole.  This audio book has me hooked.  I even killed my car battery (again) at the gas station the other day because I couldn’t turn it off.  It’s becoming a problem.  I’m on chapter 25 and I predict a twist in the story line.  Looking forward to my drive to work tomorrow so I can sink back into it.

Synopsis

Colin Hancock is giving his second chance his best shot. With a history of violence and bad decisions behind him and the threat of prison dogging his every step, he’s determined to walk a straight line. To Colin, that means applying himself single-mindedly toward his teaching degree and avoiding everything that proved destructive in his earlier life. Reminding himself daily of his hard-earned lessons, the last thing he is looking for is a serious relationship.

Maria Sanchez, the hardworking daughter of Mexican immigrants, is the picture of conventional success. With a degree from Duke Law School and a job at a prestigious firm in Wilmington, she is a dark-haired beauty with a seemingly flawless professional track record. And yet Maria has a traumatic history of her own, one that compelled her to return to her hometown and left her questioning so much of what she once believed.

A chance encounter on a rain-swept road will alter the course of both Colin and Maria’s lives, challenging deeply held assumptions about each other and ultimately, themselves. As love unexpectedly takes hold between them, they dare to envision what a future together could possibly look like . . . until menacing reminders of events in Maria’s past begin to surface.

As a series of threatening incidents wreaks chaos in Maria’s life, Maria and Colin will be tested in increasingly terrifying ways. Will demons from their past destroy the tenuous relationship they’ve begun to build, or will their love protect them, even in the darkest hour?

Rich in emotion and fueled with suspense, SEE ME reminds us that love is sometimes forged in the crises that threaten to shatter us . . . and that those who see us for who we truly are may not always be the ones easiest to recognize.

FIVE – It’s flow Friday.  I used to dread flow.  I’ve learned to love it.  All the stretching feels so good on my poor tired body by the time Friday rolls around.  Since Bailey was sick Thursday morning, I snuck into the noon Kaia class.  It was our mid point fit test and I really didn’t want to miss it.  Holy shit guys!  It kicked my ass.  I had no idea the difference working out at 5am vs. 12pm.  It’s huge.  I had no energy and had to take 2 pee breaks (I drank tons of water through the morning).  5am, I just roll out of bed and go.  I was amazed at how much more energy I have in the early am.  Crazy.

Looking forward to Saturday power hour!!  See you there.

ps…..

anyone see the new weight waters wine glass with oz measurements on the side?  There is one thing in life that should never, ever be measured.  And that my friends, is wine!  Whoever invented this should be ashamed of themselves.  5oz isn’t even a fair measurement.  That’s like a frickin sip.

End rant.

    1. The guy reading on the audio book has the worst Maria voice ever. It makes me laugh. I cant wait to see what happens in the next couple of chapters 🙂 Happy to hear you liked it too!

  1. I’m the complete opposite..more energy in the afternoon/night and less in the morning. I’m a zombie in the morning.

    1. Michelle – I thought I would be better in the afternoon too, but no way. I couldn’t keep up with all the Kaia builders and jump rope. I drank wayy too much water during the day too, so that didnt help either.
