Melika. I’m sure you’ve all heard the name. Seen her at the gym. Taken a class she coached. This chick right here is the reason we all show up for a good ol ass kicking each day. If it wasn’t for her….I would still be sitting on my couch eating potato chips bitching about how fat I am. LOL. Seriously!! Back in May 2014, Melika took a chance. She opened up KaiaFit Woodland. Inspired to help women create a healthy, active lifestyle. The rest is history. With 190 women currently enrolled. Now owning Arbuckle (satellite location) + Vacaville too. This is a busy woman, let me tell you.
Melika isn’t just the Kaia boss lady. She’s also the owner of Oasis Club & Spa. Trainer. Coach. Wife. Mother. Daughter. Sister. Great Friend. Volunteer.
If you know Melika, then you know this is a mama on a mission. She’s always on the go. Healthy snacks in hand. And a giant smile on her face.
I asked her to do a day in the life of Melika. You wouldn’t believe all she does in 1 freakin day.
5:30 am
Wake up. First thing – warm lemon water with cayenne + cinnamon + ginger. Followed with green juice + vitamins. (even on vacation, I’ve witnessed it). Balance books for Oasis/Kaia Woodland/Kaia Vacaville/Kaia Arbuckle. Return emails. Catch up on paperwork. One cup of coffee with almond milk creamer.
* When coaching Kaia Arbuckle, Melika is up at 3:45 am. Dammnnnn. And I thought my 4:30 am alarm was early.
7:00 am
Back home (if coaching). Kids up. Breakfast. Check homework. Prepare lunches for the following day. Answering texts + calls from Oasis. Laundry + clean up.
* She is on top of it! Lunches the day before is my new goal!!
Typical breakfast:
Melika’s Go-To Smoothie:
- big handful spinach
- 8 oz coconut milk
- 1/2 frozen banana
- tsp chia
- tsp psyllium husk
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- Vega protein (chocolate or vanilla)
If she’s really hungry, then she’ll add:
- tsp almond butter
Melika’s Egg White Scramble:
Throw a handful of spinach in a pan. Sprinkle with nutritional yeast and pepper. Once soft, cover with egg whites. Cook till done. Sprinkle with Daiya cheese and stick the lid on till cheese is melted. Yummmm!!
Snacks: almonds + carrots + humus + apple or banana with almond butter. Lemon water all day.
8:30 am
Out the door. Walks the kids (plus a couple extras) to school.
9:00 am
Kaia FIT Woodland/Vacacille. Either coach or take the 9:15 am class. Clean + organize Kaia. Multiple times a day.

11:00 am
Oasis. Paperwork + customer service + paying bills. Organize next day workouts. Respond to emails. Make sure all classes are covered.
Typical lunch:
Soup or leftovers from dinner the night before.
1:00 pm
Personal train clients
Workout – elliptical (if she wasn’t able to catch a Kaia class)
3:00 pm
Pick up kids (if Anthony is working)
(You will often see Melika running errands around town. She takes the time to stop and chat with everyone)
4:30 pm
Kids activities – dance + basketball + baseball + art + girl scouts etc.
Some days head to Kaia FIT Vacaville or Woodland to coach.
6:00 pm
Dinner. Homework. Family time.
* Anthony is a great cook and prepares lots of their meals too. Go Anthony!!
Melika’s Dinner:
Soup + Salad: Bag of salad + (kale is her fav) avocado + feta + tomatoes. Sometimes topped with a black bean burger. Melika recommend the Costco ones.
(I have a costco run on my to-do list due to this recommendation)
8:30 pm
Kids to bed. Finish responding to messages/texts.
10:00 pm
Bed!!
