Happy Tuesday! The weekend flew by, as usual. But, also as usual, it was a good one! I truly believe that time spent sitting on a beach (especially by the ocean ) is good for the soul!
I woke up Monday so rested and relaxed for the week. How about you?
Friday night at the Truitt’s // Sarah never disappoints in the kitchen. She made these mini pizzas with all the toppings + sauces you can imagine. It was kinda like our very own personal MOD Pizza…lol. Not pictured is the gallons of La Crema we also consumed….Ha.
Saturday morning we hit the road for our annual Stinson Beach trip. Stinson Beach’s white sand oceanfront is one of Northern California’s best kept secrets. Well, not really a secret. I can’t tell you how many people ask me where it is or tell me they’ve never heard of this hidden gem. There’s something about the relaxed easy beach town vibe that keeps be coming back year after year. Don’t let the windy ocean view drive up HWY 1 scare you…it’s worth it! Just watch out for the crazy ass bikers and you’ll be good.
We showed up a little early and our cabins weren’t quite ready for us. So, in true Woodland form….we has a parking lot party. Beach chairs were set up. Beer bottles popping. Kids running around. Snacks on the tailgate. We made ourselves right at home ♥
We booked the Sandpiper Inn for our 4th year in a row. This place is located in the heart of the charming little beach town. Best part…it’s about a 2 minute walk to the beach. You can hear the waves crashing from the Sandpiper. It’s pretty rad.
Here is our Cottage that we rented again this year. Isn’t she pretty. So photogenic, right?
These two cute cabins off the left are the Fricke’s + my parent’s places for the night. They all come with kitchenette + bathrooms + sleep 4-8 people. It’s a perfect little place to lay your head for the night. Shit, I could stay a week and be completely content.
Here’s a look at the inside of the Cottage that I rented with my sister and her family. 3 adults + 3 kids. We could have fit a few more too.
That cowhide rug has my name all over it!!
Isn’t this kitchen adorable? It has everything you need to prepare dinner for a group. Trust me, I’ve done it a time or two.
The sleeping accommodations aren’t too shabby either.
Then we hit the beach. Stinson beach is a 1 1/2 mile long white sand beach. These kids were ready!
Look at that view. Cold beer in my hand. Ass in the sand. Just where I wanted to be!
The kids wasted no time and hopped right in the ocean!
The Siren Canteen is a restaurant located right on the beach. You can just walk right up in your suit. No shoes, No problem. No shirt, No Problem.
Look at that menu!!! All my favorite things in one place. Dangerous!
Tio was happy AF. I was also happy AF! Look at all that food.
And I obvi had to try the house made wine vodka bloody mary. It was pretty good, considering it didn’t have actual vodka in it. Garrett got a wine tequila blended margarita later on and it was damn good!
Back to the cabins for happy hour! We sat in the Garden for drinks + snacks + chit chatting + Dr Dre pandora (which I’m sure our neighbors enjoyed too) + enjoying the beautiful sunshine.
Look at the beautiful grounds. Giant succulents + bottle brush trees + chinese lantern flowers + strawberry vines all grow wild in this coastal weather. It’s gorgeous!
Kissey + My Mama + Me ♥
I’m pretty sure they were all still busting my balls at this point.
Look at sweet baby Spencer. He rolled over to his back for the first time right here in front of us. We cheered as though we were at some kind of sporting game. It was a BIG deal. And he’s got his eyes on that Bogle Chard.

Cheers!
I forgot to take a photo, but Alex made her amazing Sausage Balls! Props to Ashley Timothy for sharing the recipe! Gotta give cred to the originator 🙂
Trust me, make these things!
Sausage Balls
- 1 lb. Jimmy Dean Sausage, uncooked
- 3/4 cup flour/biscuit mix
- 8 oz. shard cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup celery, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix all ingredients. Form into 1 inch balls. Bake 15 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Alex couldn’t heat these bad boys up fast enough for us! So damn good!
Oh yeah, and check out the visitor and popped up right where we were all kickin it…..
You have to stop and check out the creek/waterfalls on the way to the Stinson Beach Playground every.single.time!
Crazy kids. Ben was pissed. Joe just wanted to jump off everything. Bay was clearly showing off and Kate wanted to join in. I was happy Claire decided to hop in last-minute. Love these kiddos ♥
I highly do NOT recommend purchasing the Stinson Beach pinot noir. Even if the liquor store owner claims it is “the best!” Trust me, it’s not!
ANOTHER group shot outside the Cottage before dinner time.
Kissey brought all the fixings for english muffin pizzas. Each of the kids made their own. Claire had the most brilliant idea I’ve ever seen. English muffin pizza sandwich. Oh My God. It looked killer.
The adult dinner // Sara Blickle’s famous lasagna + garlic bread + roasted asparagus + Mom’s bomb.com salad. We continued to rap along with Dr Dre Pandora through dinner. If you follow my on snapchat you even got to see Alex’s rap! She’s pretty damn good!
Bay made bunny cupcakes ♥
We played a couple of rounds of pie face. Benny got pied!
Breakfast at Parkside Cafe is always a good one. Bubbles + hot cocoa cheers are unpictured.
Followed by our annual beach easter egg hunt. We started this tradition last year. Which happened to be a week away from Easter, so it made much more sense. Bay insisted that we show the Fricke girls how a beach easter egg hunt is done. So, that’s exactly what we did!
Bunny bags in hand, ready to find the eggs. Over 15 dozen eggs + 1 lucky golden egg with $10 + tons of candy where hidden all over the beach.
GO Claire Gooooo!
Benny found the golden egg!!
The only thing missing this trip were the Hostert’s ♥
Thank you Mom + Dad, Abarca’s + Fricke’s for making this annual trip another memorable one for the books! We had the best time laughing + making memories with our kids they will never forget. I’ll say it again, there is something about this place that keeps me coming back. We are already booked for 2018!
See you next year Stinson Beach!!
xoxo stacyb
Thanks for such a fun weekend. Can’t wait till next year.
That little cottage is adorable! And English muffin pizzas always remind me of day care at my Grandma’s. 🙂 Looks like a great time!
She made the best English muffin pizzas <3
