It’s Monday and you’re probably not feelin it, so if you’re reading this then I hope something good happens to you today. For reals though. Something really, really good!!
I’m recovering from a great weekend in the snow. I guess it’s more defrosting than recovering. We had the best time. I even stayed up past midnight Friday night. CRAZY!!!
Our traditional Strawberry Lodge pit stop Friday night. I love this place. Once we hit this spot, it means we are on the home stretch to the cabin.
Guess what, I had pizza. I said I wouldn’t but I just couldn’t resist. Lake Tahoe Pizza Company pizza is killer. I’m a pizza snob and this in undeniably the bomb. I balanced it out with a salad 🙂
Saturday we headed to Sierra-at-Tahoe. This girl went snowboarding with the boys. Her first time. I am so incredibly proud of her.
I went to sign Bailey up for ski lessons and they were sold out for the day…boooo. According to the resort, it was the busiest day of the snow season. I bought her a lift ticket and rented all the gear. In the back of my head, all I could think was, what a waste of money. She’s going to hate it. Like me, I suppose. I was wrong. Wayyy wrong.
I was a total paparazzi. It was my babies first time, I couldn’t help it!!
There they go. Cory + Bailey + Scott + Brandon.
I stood at the bottom of the hill, waiting for that terrified look. And the “I’m never doing that again” to come out of her mouth. And to my surprise…..this is what came down the hill
With the biggest smile from ear to ear. It made my day to see her having such a great time.
Thanks to Cory for taking the time to show her and stick with her side by side each run. Who needs lesson when you have a Cory? ♥
Once I knew she was super into it and having a great time….April + I were off to find the bar 🙂
I’d never been to Sierra Ski Resort and I have to say it’s beautiful. It also turned out to be a beautiful day.
Thank you Scott + Brandon + Cory for showing Bailey such a great first time on the hill. They were so patient and helpful. Without them, I’m not sure she would have had the positive experience she had.
Then it was time for Rum Runners. The Beacon Bar + Grill makes the best. It’s a fruity summer blended cocktail with a rum floater on top. So, so good even in the dead of the winter.

Monopoly Electronic Banking was the best $25 bucks I spent all weekend. The kids played it over and over again.
Lots of laughs + cheers + 31 card games + monopoly + yummy food + cold toes // Lake Tahoe January trip was one for the books!!
Sunday we made it home just in time for pig pen cleaning. It was shitty, literally. Haha. The girls got in there and cleaned with a smile on their faces the whole time. The girls have all uniquely named their pigs – Babe, Wilbur, Buster & Princess Pork Chop.
I worked on meal prep and menu for the week. Snacks are bagged up in individual servings in snack bags + eggs are boiled + lots of bbq chicken cooked + quinoa made + veggies chopped + smoothie fruit bagged up.
Kaia girls – what’s on your menu this week? I love hearing others meal plans/menus. It always inspires me to try something new.
Here’s what we have on the menu for the week:
Sunday – bbq chicken with Kaia cilantro pesto (I do extra for lunches) + steamed veggies
Monday – Kaia spaghetti squash marinara + roast rainbow carrots
Tuesday – Thai coconut curry shrimp + quinoa + steamed spinach
Wednesday – Kaia taco salad (with leftover chicken)
Thursday – salmon + quinoa (Cory’s famous recipe)
Friday – out to dinner
Lunches –
- Kaia slow cooker butternut squash soup
- Kaia protein bowl
- snacks: apples + carrot sticks + hard boiled eggs + hummus + marys gone crackers
Breakfasts –
- Kaia spring splash smoothie
- Kaia wild workout drink
Sunday evening I caught up on my beloved DVR. It was a tough job, but someone had to do it 🙂 Kardashian’s + Beverly Hills + Atlanta Housewives + Girlfriends Guide to Divorce. All my current favs. It was a DVR + Chill type of night and I loved every second of it.
