I love the simplicity of Summer clothing. Summer attire is so basic + minimal compared to other seasons which involve lots of layers + footwear. With a few basic pieces, you can mix and match your closet with endless options!
So, today I thought I’d share some of my tried + true summer closet staples.
You know, ALL THE THINGS I believe every girls needs! And things that can be worn over and over throughout the Summer!
But, before we get started – Let’s chat about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. If you follow fashion bloggers on Instagram, then you’ve already been overloaded with so much info. So, I’ll spare you the overwhelming shit and keep it simple with 3 quick tips to help you navigate the sale, if you’re into it!
- Shop early! Meaning, you must become a Nordstrom Card Holder!!! This will grant you “Early Access!” As in 8 days before the public aka non card holders. You get a $40 credit upon approval and lots of perks year round too! Typically, once the Anniversary Sale opens to the public on the 20th, sizes + colors + top items are sold out or wayy picked over. So, if there is something you HAVE TO HAVE, this is the way to insure you get your pretty little hands on it!
- Add to Cart! You can preview the sale here: 2018 Anniversary Sale – Preview. This is not everything that will be on sale, this is just a sample. I like to do a closet clean-out and toss/sale everything I know for a fact that I will not be wearing come Fall. Reminder – the Anni sale is mainly Fall New Arrivals. Stick everything you LOVE in your shopping cart! And patiently wait. The worst part!
- Shop online! Grab a cup of coffee and sit down with your computer Thursday morning. Don’t even think of messing with the crowds. If you want it – BUY IT! You can always return, but you legit gotta act fast. Nordy’s offers FREE shipping + FREE returns. Their website it super user-friendly. OR you can always buy online and do an in-store pick-up. Technically you don’t even have to get out of your car. They will bring it out to you!
With these tips, you should be ready to shop till you drop! Set your alarms for Thursday morning friends!!
And now for 10 summer closet staples……
1.DENIM JACKET
A denim jacket is key for summer evening. But, you need a good one. One that fits perfectly. I recommend sizing down. And over-sized denim jacket can look sloppy. Goes perfect with a sundress. White denim. Anything really. Just that bit of structure with a laid back vibe. Roll the sleeves. Pop that collar and you’re ready to go!
2.SLIDES
When it comes to summer wardrobe staples, a comfy pair of flat sandals are always on the top of my list. This $12 option from Target is MONEY! They come in brown + black. Go great with shorts + dress + jeans. Trust me on this one, K!?!?

3.SUNDRESS
Something simple. Solid. Easy to wear. I fell in love with this linen dress from Target. It can easily be dressed up with a pair of heels + jewelry. I paired it with my denim jacket + slides here.
4.HAT
I ordered this hat on a whim. It came and I couldn’t wait to wear it! This one has a wider brim that I’m used too, but the older I get the more I try to protect my face. And day old hair. Pop a hat on and your good to go!
5.SIMPLE TANK
A casual tank is what you’ll normally find me in all summer. I’ve told you guys about this scalloped trim little number about 25 times, but I’m gonna tell you again. I’m debating on ordering a second one just in case something happens to this one..lol. Looks super cute with a bralette too!

6.DENIM CUT-OFFS
Everyone needs to own a good ol pair of denim cut-offs. It’s the epitome of summer. Don’t you think? Easy + relaxed. Not too tight. Not too short #mombod I throw these on more times than I’d like to admit.
7.PRETTY BRALETTE
A simple tank or loose T-shirt with a little bralette pick-a-boo action. I LOVE IT! Obsessed with the feminine touch of the lace. Crazy comfy. You won’t want to put a regular bra back on all summer.
8.CLUTCH
I’ve noticed that lately I reach for the clutch before my regular purse. I slide it into my beach bag. Pool bag. Perfect for happy hour. Just something small to hold all my shit. This is a great option. It literally goes with everything.

9.SUNNIES
A good pair of sunnies is so, so key. I found these Le Specs a while back and they are so legit. I wear them every.single.day. And I get asked about them all the time. Super affordable. Super lightweight. I dig the matte black finish on them.
And last but not least……
10.WHITE T-SHIRT
Who doesn’t love the look of a fresh crispy white tee against sun-kissed summer skin? Those on a pair of cut-offs + slides, it’s always a winner! And I think I found THE perfect white Tee. Not see through. Not too low of a v-neck. Perfect length. Get your hands on one!
