While searching for a new chocolate chip cookie recipe, Bay found Picky Palate. She had a secret ingredient for THE perfect cookie. Say goodbye to flat chocolate chip cookies forever!
Although I haven’t tried one of Bay’s cookies yet, I have to say, they look amazing. Might have to do with one of her two secret cookie baking weapons? I can’t tell, but Bay has reassured me that they are the bomb.com! So, I’ll take her word for it.
Secret cookie baking weapons:
1. Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix Powder
2. Cookie scoop!
Bay uses a 1 tablespoon scoop from target. You can find lots of options here:
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 3 tablespoons instant vanilla pudding mix powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Here’s what you do:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silpat.
In a large mixing bowl, add butter + sugar + brown sugar. Mix until combined.
Add egg + vanilla and mix well. Slowly add flour + pudding mix + salt + baking soda.
Lastly, add chocolate chips and mix with a spoon.
Using a 1 tablespoon cookie scoop, scoop dough onto prepared baking sheet. About 1 inch apart.
Bake 12 minutes.
I dare you not to eat the dough!! This was my slip up last weekend. Bay asked me to taste the cookie dough to see what I thought. So I did. Gave myself a pat on the back for not eating a cookie. Hours later realized I tried the damn cookie dough…lol! Oh well, shit happens. For the record, I still haven’t had one of those amazing smelling + looking cookies.
Bay says you can’t just have one, so make sure you grab two at a time 🙂
So, if you make them – let me know what you think 🙂
