Isn’t that the truth!! Since motherhood is such a huge part of my life, I’ve decided to dedicate Tuesday blog posts to Kiddo topics. This is for you, my Mama friends!! Kid approved food + clothes + activities + of course, Holiday ideas. Hopefully something most of you can relate too:)
I asked my 9-year-old what I should write about today and these are topics of her choice:
Last month Bailey and I decided that Monday’s after school and work, we would plan a date. Just the two of us. Something we both enjoy doing. Every Monday. Together. I should mention, I totally stole this idea from my girl, Gretchen Rubin. She’s the shit! (I think that might be my first blogging cuss word?) Gretchen is the Author of the Happiness Projects. I listened to the audio books and loved that I could relate to some of her projects. This one might be my favorite.
Since I began dating my daughter, we’ve gone to the movies, the park, frozen yogurt, cooked meals together, facials, and shopping. It doesn’t have to be anything elaborate or expensive. Bailey is an only child, so she obviously gets a lot of my time and attention. There’s just something special about making a designated “date” that we can both look forward too. Time to talk about anything. Time to do things together uninterrupted. Time to connect. Two hours of undivided attention. Weeks and days get busy, but Monday’s are a date – no matter what! Each Monday since, I’ve gone to bed with such a full heart. And what makes it better, Bailey told me she does too. It’s the little things that truly count. Monday dates are something you will be hearing more of:)

Bailey’s Tank from Gentry’s Closet is so cute. Go check out her Etsy page.
How many kids know the meaning of #ootd (outfit of the day)? Mine does…lol. Bailey woke up Monday morning and asked if I wanted to take her picture for my blog. “Since I’m feeling extra cute,” she said. Soooo my daughter. Bailey had a little extra pep in her step for a Monday morning. She got dressed + did her signature hair twist, which she has offered to do a tutorial on soon + made her way to the backyard for a morning game of tether-ball. I couldn’t pass the photo-op:)

Shorts (I made them into cut-offs) + Floral Chambray Blouse + Denim Hoodie Jacket
** shorts + shirt on super sale too**
Bailey was Booed TWICE last week. You don’t understand what a BIG deal this is. You see, we never get Booed. We are normally the ones out doing the Booing. Did my Booing blog post make peeps feel guilty? I swear I’ve seen more Booing than ever this year. I’m going with – it’s just a coincidence 🙂 Our Booer’s were very generous. Bailey had an extra special Friday night. Pretty sure she ate her weight in candy.
We are planning out our Booing strategy to get a couple more families this week.

I worked on another Holiday themed lunchbox this week. Pumpkin pizzas!

English Muffin Pumpkin Pizzas
- split english muffin in half
- spread with sauce
- top with shredded mozzarella cheese
- cut pepperoni in the triangles for eyes and half circles for the mouth (you can get creative with your pepperoni)
- olive nose
- green onion stem
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes (till cheese is melted)
Voila!
These are yummy and so, so easy. I keep these ingredients in my pantry at all times for an easy (I have no time to cook) night or to add in the weekly lunchbox rotation. Sometimes I make them with pesto and a sliced of tomato. Yummm. I’ve been known to pack them in my own lunchbox.
Check out Meet the Dubiens super cute version of mini Halloween pizzas. I will be duplicating the spider pizza very soon.
Dessert. Also known as, Bailey’s favorite meal of the day. Jack-O-Lantern milkshake mugs.

I found these cute Martha Stewart beverage clings at my local JoAnn’s craft store, but you can also find them at Amazon here. They cling right on to any glass, mason jar or wine glass. I have some ideas up my sleeve for cute treat ideas. They also easily peel off to save. If you forget, your dishwasher will eat them. I’ve lost a few that way.
Good night friends – see you tomorrow for {wednesday wish list}
