Home Sweet Home // our new happy place!
Good morning friends! In case you missed it on Instagram + Facebook…..we bought a house. I never shared here, as I was so busy with the move and all the paperwork that goes along with it. We finally got somewhat settled in and I’m ready to get back on here and share.
How was everyone’s weekend? I hope it was a GREAT Fourth of July celebration for you.
While it looked and felt different than usual, we tried to make it special anyway.
Intentions for the Week:
- Prep for this weekends yard sale
- Write Thank you’s
- Work in the yard
- Wallpaper Bay’s room
- Take some outfit photos
- Wash windows
- Get some Mezger Zinnias
- Be better at drinking water (dehydrated AF)
- Go on long walks with Charlie to scope out the new hood
- Celebrate my sisters birthday
- Give my house plants some much needed TLC
Highlights from the weekend…….

We agreed to put a urinal in the backyard. And Cory’s a little excited, if you can’t tell lol!

Thursday was official moving day. And I’m crazy grateful for movers. ps- NEVER moving again!

Also crazy grateful for friends that show up with your fave take-out mexican food + wine. Thanks Sarah P + Toni!!!

Our first morning in the new house. Charlie is making herself comfy.

We had every intention of heading to the cabin for our traditional Tahoe 4th of July. Friday morning we decided we needed to stay home and get settled in. #adulting

4th of July #ootd for dog baths, chores and errands.

SHOP: Rolling Stones Tank ($13) | High Rise Denim Shorts | Flip Flops
Bath day for the pups. Charlie rolled in mud about 15 minutes later….

Project #1 – the laundry room. We took down shelves. Painted bright white. Bought a new stacking washer + dryer. Next is to hang shelves + build a small table under the window to cover the pipes.

Grateful for Marilynn coming over and helping us in the yard. We started our climbing fence jasmine. And I’m so excited!

Tried a new recipe and it turned out pretty damn good. I’ll have to share soon. Have you ever tried the ready pasta? It’s crazy simple and delish!

Cory smoked ribs + bacon wrapped pork loin for our little 4th of July backyard dinner.

The Fricke’s put on a helluva firework show. Thanks for having us, neighbors.

I would have ripped everything out of these planters, had Marilynn not come over. We discovered an herb garden under the weeds. And I’m here for it. Oh, and a tomato plant. So I’m excited to add more veggies.

Breaking for an iced cold beer at Plainfield Station with my Dad. I couldn’t believe we were the only people there. My heart breaks for the local small businesses right now.

And lastly, I found some crazy good sales. Other than the sandals + shorts (which I already own) that I own, all of these items are kickin it in my shopping cart at the moment. Each item is under $25 and so cute + perfect for summertime.
