{holiday, celebrate}

So, I’m sure you’ve noticed this post is a little late (considering my normal, 4:30 am posts) Here’s the deal – this week has sucked!  I’ve overbooked to the maximum and I can’t blame anyone, because I did it to myself.  Not a damn thing has gone smoothly.  I wrote a post for today and decided it sucked and deleted it.  When I should have been writing a new post last night, I decided to go to my mom’s for a big glass of wine and therapy sesh.  Mom’s have the best advice.  Sometimes we just talk and it makes me feel instantly better.  My Mom is the voice of reason.  We actually laughed about my week….I didn’t even cry.  God, I hope I can be “that” person for Bailey when she’s grown.  Not to mention, my parents ALWAYS have a bottle of wine sitting on the counter waiting my arrival.  It’s true!  Anyway, I left feeling refreshed and ready to kick this weeks ass.  So, I did the only logical thing at 11 pm, I sat on the couch, drank more wine and watched the Real Housewives Beverly Hills premiere till 1 am.  Hence the trip to the gas station on my way to work for advil and a sugar free red bull.  I need wings folks.  I skipped the gym and decided to write a fun kid post this morning instead.  It’s more up my alley anyway.

I heard this song late last night, which inspired this Holiday post 🙂

Madonna – Holiday

(now it will be stuck in your head too – you’re welcome)

Holiday, celebrate
Holiday, celebrate
If we took a holiday
Took some time to celebrate
Just one day out of life
It would be
It would be so nice
Everybody spread the word
We’re gonna have a celebration
All across the world
In every nation
It’s time for the good times
Forget about the bad times
One day to come together
To release the pressure
We need a holiday
If we took a holiday
Took some time to celebrate
Just one day out of life
It would be
It would be so nice

I forgot to share a December Bucket List yesterday.  So here ya go.  Click on the links below to print a copy for your family.  I added some of the items from the lists below to our advent calendar too.

Remember the Advent Tree I made (I mean, Alex made for me) last month.  Well, here she is all dolled up.

She’s adorned with some of our favorite ornaments + candy canes + goodies + gift certificates + random acts of kindness + activities.  Each little number has a slot for a goody.

Here’s a snap shot of some of the activities + random acts of kindness

  • say Merry Christmas to someone you don’t know
  • Make a thoughtful teacher gift
  • Write a Christmas card to a friend and snail mail it
  • Baskin Robin’s (good for 1 scoop of ice cream)

Just to name a few.  I like to mix them up so she’s not getting a treat each day.

We started off day 1 with candy cane tic-tacs…yumm-o!

Bailey reminded me that I needed to get my shit together and get Christmas Lunchbox Jokes started again.  LOL!  I wasted away hours of my life getting sucked into Pinterest yesterday….soooo many cute Holiday ideas.  And I came across these.

If they can make me chuckle, then I’m printing them and sharing with everyone.

Q: How do angels greet each other?

A: Halo

Q: Why did the Elf go to school?

A: To learn the elfabet.

Come on, you know that was cute 🙂

Once you have cute Holiday lunchbox jokes, then one must create a cute Holiday Lunch to accompany them.  I searched my pantry and came up with this snowman PB&J.

Q: What did the gingerbread man put on his bed?

A: Cookie sheets

LOLOLOLOLOL!!!

Here’s what you need:

  • two slices of bread
  • one baby carrot (trimmed like a snowman nose)
  • 8 mini chocolate chips
  • this handy dandy pampered chef cut-n-seal.
  • peanut butter
  • jelly

I made the pb&j as normal.  Used the cut-n-seal to make my crust-free pocket.  Stick the mini chocolate chips pointy side down (into the bread).  Set the carrot on top.

Everything you will already have on hand in your pantry.

Hope you enjoyed this {holiday, celebrate} post.  See you tomorrow for more Holiday topics.

xoxo stacyb
