Ok – let’s get to the weekend.
Friday morning we headed to Lawson’s Landing in Dillon Beach to spend the weekend camping. Lawson’s Landing is a fishing and boating resort and campground, situated at the mouth of Tomales Bay, Californian. It’s known for generations of family camping fun. Who remembers trips to Dillon Beach back when they were kids? We spent many weekends clamming + camping + vacationing growing up.
Our first fam photo with Sally the Sun Chaser
(photo cred to April)
#selfie or is it a #groupie? Either way, you get it.
Camping family. Also known as the Straubs.
These photo’s above explain it all.
Matt drove 2 hours and had NO idea there was a sign on the back of the Westfalia “Haight + Ashbury of Bust” We laughed a little bit.
The kids mashed around on their bikes while we chilled by the campfire enjoying the entertainment these guys provide about 20 hours of the day. They slept the other 4 hours. They really don’t stop. I laughed till I cried on a couple occasions. Thanks for the fun trip Straubs!!! And for the generator 🙂 I owe you at least a couple gallons of gas for the coffee and blow dryer use!!

Camp:
a place where an army or other group of persons or an individual is lodged in a tent or tents or other temporary means of shelter.
We camped in the meadow, which was a the first time in a long time, for us. We were not used to the guests that meadow camping attract. Holy cow! Lot’s of cows. They will literally walk right up to your table, that you are sitting at, and begin eating ANYTHING they can reach. Not worried for a second about us.
Right over the sand dunes, from our campsite, was the beach. A big beautiful beach. Nothing more relaxing than sitting on a beach. I could sit there for hours and take it all in. It’s my thing, can you tell?
Saturday night we headed up to the house Cory’s family was staying at for the weekend. It was breathtaking. Each room had a floor to ceiling windows with the most gorgeous view. We played cards +took selfies + enjoyed the great company + delicious food. That’s what a Holiday weekend is all about.
Hog Island oysters + rack of lamb + Clam Chowder (the Tides, Bodega Bay original recipe). Told you the food was BOMB.com!!!
31 + Chad’s margaritas // “everybody in the club gettin tipsy”
They had visitors too. Big ol’ bucks wondering through the neighborhood.
Dillon Beach sunsets are amazing. This was captured from the store, while Bailey stocked up on candy cigs. It’s the only reason she loves going here:) After lots of convincing, Bailey decided spending all of her $37 on candy cigs probably wasn’t the best idea. She settled for a couple packs to get her through the weekend. I remember being bribed with these candies as a kid. Is this the only place you can purchase them anymore? Anyone know?
Sunday morning we packed up Sally and headed home. It’s so beautiful here. Goodbyes are never fun.
Sunday afternoon we got Sally cleaned up and back out to storage. Just in time to start the 5 loads of laundry and pick out our Christmas tree. Well, it wasn’t exactly our normal Apple Hill tradition, but we did find a perfect tree in a tree lot here in town.
We decked the halls. I love the sentimental value each and every Christmas Ornament hold. And that Bailey and I remember where each one was either purchased, given to us by, or made. We spent over an hour trying to decided which one was our all time favorite.
It truly is the most wonderful time of the year.
The first thing I do each morning is plug in the tree lights and stop to admire it for a couple of minutes. And my house smells amazing too!!
A friend sent me this last week #goals haha.
Then Bailey was ELFED. Perfect ending to our weekend.
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving weekend. Come back tomorrow for Elf On The Shelf ideas – You’re going to need them!!!
