{12 things monday}

Hi guys! It’s been a minute. Well, actually more like 73 days. When the going gets tough, the blog gets the backseat. You know how it goes. Anyway, hope you all had a great weekend! We had a really good + chill one. We relaxed, we shopped, we worked in the yard, watched Bay play volleyball and just had a chill time at home!

I figured it had been a while since I had done a 12 things so let’s catch up! Here we go…

ONE |

We booked a week in NYC and I’m beyond excited! We should have bought kitchen flooring, but fuck it? You never regret traveling! Ha! That’s what I’m telling myself. We will be there in Spring and my list of things to do, see and eat is unreal. But if you have anything that we MUST do – please hit me up. I want to do it all! Ha!! Oh, and I’ve NEVER been before.

TWO |

As most of you know, we remodeled our kitchen at the end of December. It’s still not done. But it’s really, really close. Flooring TBD because NYC…lol. We originally planned to take down a wall. Just one wall. Which led to a fully demoed kitchen a few days later. From all new plumbing and electrical. New appliances and cabinets. Countertops and an island. It was alot to happen in a short time. I’ll try to get some good pictures to share. So, so happy with how everything turned out. With the help of some professionals and friends we designed this kitchen on our own and I still cannot believe it!

THREE |

I baked the most insane brownies from a box the other night. And I have to share. 2 boxes of Ghirardelli brownie mix. 1/2 cup water. 1 cup vegetable oil. 2 eggs. Mix together and pour into a parchment lined 9×13 pan. Sprinkle with coarse salt (lots of it). I’m obsessed with The Food Nanny French Salt. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes. Once cooled (if you can wait) dig in. And let me know what you think!

FOUR |

Dreaming of those brownies while I tell you – I’m currently doing 75 hard. And it’s hard AF! You follow each of these steps for 75 days straight…

Here’s the gist:

  • Two 45 minute workouts per day
  • One workout must be outdoors
  • Follow a diet
  • No alcohol or cheat meals
  • Drink 1 gallon of water
  • Read 10 pages (non-fiction) *audiobooks do not count
  • Take a progress photo

I’ll dive more into this topic maybe next week…..

FIVE |

I found some of the cutest new arrivals at Target. Lot’s of spring colors that having me craving some sunshine. My plan is to come back here tomorrow with a little try-on for Target Tuesday…stay tuned.

SIX |

Other than being completely hooked on the Idaho Murders, I’ve watched a few shows that I really liked…..

  • Ginny + Georgia – on Netflix so you can binge in one day if you’re feelin it!!
  • Stutz – on Netflix. A 1 1/2 hour documentary with Johan Hill and his therapist Phil Stutz. You guys – I LOVES this one and treated it like my very one therapy appointment. HIGHLY recommend.
  • Emily in Paris on Netflix. I don’t care how cheesy it is, makes me dream of Paris and I love the characters.
  • I Wanna Dance – at the movie theater. Another movie we all LOVED. If you can not sing and dance through this movie, I will give you $5!!
  • Fleishman is in Trouble on Hulu. Not what I was expecting, but ended up being bummed with it was over. A modern day family with all the modern day struggles.
  • Madoff the Monster of Wall Street on Netflix. A four-party docuseries. This one was really interesting. I binged it all at once.

SEVEN |

Bailey kicked off another season of club volleyball this month. We’ve spend a weekend at the San Jose convention center. Which was also the home of a Furry Convention. I’ve never seen anything so frightening. Then much more mellow Sunday volleyball tournament at McClellan. Bay’s declared this to be her final year of club, as she wants to live it up her senior year. Bittersweet – so we’re enjoying this season with her. So grateful for my Mom traveling and never missing a game! You will always see Gram in the stand with her signature “WooHoo” every time they score!

EIGHT |

Cory and I visited Hope Valley for a little getaway earlier this month. We stayed at Wylder. We had originally booked a Yurt for the weekend, but after 6 feet of snowfall the night before check-in, the yurts were out of commission. They upgraded us to their Ponderosa Cabin and it was such a treat. It was a legit winter wonderland. We snowshoed around the property and a couple trails. Highly recommend checking out Wylder if you’re looking for a little off the grid weekend.

NINE |

Currently reading Atomic Habits by James Clear. So far – I’m into it. And I’m not a reader – I’m more of a audiobook kinda girl. But 75 Hard….

one of the world’s leading experts on habit formation, reveals practical strategies that will teach you exactly how to form good habits, break bad ones, and master the tiny behaviors that lead to remarkable results

TEN |

Bay and I started a Poshmark! We have so much more to add, but trying to get the hang of it first. If you want to shop out closets, you can follow here: POSHMARK

ELEVEN |

We spent last Saturday in our yard. The most rewarding work at home, in my opinion. Cleared out all my garden boxes and planning out our spring garden. Saving one box for a cutting garden. All flowers that can be cut for vases in the house. My goal is to only use homegrown flowers + eucalyptus all spring.

TWELVE |

My most asked question on DM’s.

Are you still sober?

Believe it or not, YES I am still sober.
