JUNIOR YEAR I wish everyone a happy first day of school.

Lots of transitions this year making today feel bittersweet

You can see on Charlie’s face, she is devastated her cuddle buddy, breakfast sharing bestie is about to leave her for the new school year.

Any other mama’s out there with all the feels today?

So excited for our normal routine.

So excited for a normal school year.

So excited for all the new things to come with Junior year.

Bittersweet…..

Today was the first day that I didn’t drop her off at school. I’ve been dropping her off on her first day since she was 6 months old and went to daycare. Then to St John’s Preschool. Then Plainfield Elementary. Then Lee Middle School. Freshman and Sophomore year at Woodland High. Junior year, she hopped in the truck with her boyfriend and they were off. With the BIGGEST smile on her face 🙂

Today school starts at 8:30am. Actually all year. So, I will leave for work and she’ll most likely still be snoozing. Our mornings bumping music and sharing the bathroom are no more.

Next week she turns 16. And has an appointment at DMV at 8am on her birthday. So not only will our mornings change. Our evenings + weekends will be changing ALOT too. I’m no longer her personal uber. What am I going to do with my time? lol

I never realized all the chatting, catching up and just daily BS that happens in the car driving to and from school, work and activities. Oh, and carwash drive thru, Dutch bros and Target pick-ups.

Just some growing pains. All the feels today. So incredibly happy at the same time.

Not to mention – our AC quit last night. So I’m feeling emotional and really, really hot. Maybe the heat is getting to me today…ha!!!
