Where to eat + drink + bike + NOT to stay !!

45 days till spring and I am already planning out all the beaches I want to veg out + drink cold bud light lime + listen to country music on

Next on the list – taking the dogs to Bodega for some hiking. Crab sando’s. And beach time! What beach are you most excited for?

Pacifica is nestled between San Francisco + Half Moon Bay along the scenic coast of the Pacific Ocean. The city of Pacifica is spread along a six-mile stretch of coastal beaches + hills. Known as a very popular surfing destination. Also know as the home of Taco Bell on the beach. That serves booze. Swear!

You guys, it’s one of the most quaint beach towns. And you know I love a little beach town, BIG TIME!

Where NOT to stay ||

Okay, a little background. I have seen people vacation at Pacifica for years. I’ve been, never stayed the night. Everyone has stayed at the Pacifica Beach Hotel. It’s been on my bucket list for years. Typically running $300/night. Since we’re right smack dab in a fucking pandemic, the hotel has cut their prices more than in half. I stumbled on it one day and booked it immediately. Kept it a secret from Bailey till Christmas. Since Santa was bringing her a new Cruiser Lux 1 Step-Thru bike, I thought it would be such a fun mother daughter trip. Take our bikes. Ride around. Stay in this fancy hotel. Ha! To make a long story short – the hotel is very run down. Beautiful views. Super close to the ocean. Room #1 – wreaked of cigarettes. Had pass. Room #2 – Someone was in the room when we walked in. SOOO uncomfortable. Room #3 – a room with a view, but not as nice as the room we’d paid for. So, we decided to take it and make the best of it.

Our cute little balcony + ocean front view. I really didn’t look into any other places to stay. I think I would venture down to Half Moon Bay next time. But, we will 100% be back to Pacifica.

Where to eat ||

Taco Bell | is on the fucking beach yo! And they serve booze. Around the back of the restaurant, there is a pretty wood patio with seating. You can sip a beer or cocktail. Eat a beefy 5-layer burrito (my personal fave) right on the ocean. Does it get any better? I think NOT!

Luigi Italian Restaurant | Bay is a pasta lover. So we grabbed fettuccine alfredo + bread + salad to-go. Pigged out in our bed and binge watched Brigerton.

Soul Grind Coffee Roasters | Oh my, not only the best coffee I think I’ve ever had. But the food was amazeballs. We went back a second time.

Sam’s Chowder House | Some of the best chowder! And it’s right on the beach.

Cold Stone | And because we’re basic AF and apparently Bay had NEVER had Cold Stone before.

U Save Liquors | Because I am basic AF and love a good liquor store. Fireball + tall cans + White Monsters + Rold Gold Pretzels. My typical order.

What to do ||

Sit on the beach | I feel that my mind + body + soul can truly rest when I am sitting on a beach. I can’t think of anything more relaxing.

Bike the California Coastal Trail | 7.5 miles of this from Pillar Point Harbor to the Ritz Carlton. It’s absolutely stunning. TONS of places to stop + rest. Grab to-go from Sam’s Chowder House. Back in 2018 Cory and I did the same bike trail together and I was so excited to show Bay. {Weekend Notes}

Check out the shops at Rockaway Beach | Lot’s of unique fun beach town shops.

Make sure to check the hours of operation if you book it all the way to the Ritz Carlton. Ha! There is some major off roading to get you there. But, the view is 100% worth it!

Such a fun little getaway just the two of us! Can’t wait to get our next one on the books. I’m looking at Indian Springs Spa the beginning of Spring!!
