It’s officially summer peeps! And this above is just how I like my summers. Life gets better, that’s for sure. Did anyone catch the full moon last night? I was kind of expecting something a little more exciting…but, it was beautiful. Once again weekend notes are late…..
FRIDAY
I got to spend the evening with my “high school” girlfriends. Some of them I didn’t even go to high school with..lol. I think that’s my way of referring to the bitches I’ve been friends with FOR-EV-ER. We did graduate 16 years ago. Shit. Missing a few of them though. We need a reunion with Rachel + Zeb + Stover too. Dang, that would be trouble. Maybe Rachel’s parents will let us have a kegger for old time sake? Haha.
Not only did I get to catch up with my girlfriends, but our kiddos got to tag along too.
We are out numbered.

Check out that ice cream bar set-up. Toni knows what’s up!!!
I gotta say, we have some cute kids 🙂 And considering they don’t get together much, they play so well. Made for a nice relaxing evening.
Thanks Toni + Emanuel for hosting a fun night. It’s always so great to see everyone and start off right were we left off, like no time has passed.
SATURDAY
We left Woodlone at 4:03 am. For reals. Sarah P was in my driveway with Dutch Bros. ready to rock-n-roll. The Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Classic was our destination. Little did we know, it actually takes place in Windsor, CA. Oh ya know, just a two hour drive. We were planning on a 1 hour drive.
5:30 am Dawn Patrol – these gorgeous balloons are lit up and launched in the dark. We drove in as they were in the air. Pretty cool.
Balloons were set up all over the baseball fields ready to launch. They announced each one and they went up one at a time.
The wind picked up and we were unable to go on one of the tethered rides. It’s all good though, it has now inspired us to do a real hot air balloon ride with the kids.
Bailey + Andee + Charley were in awe.
We hit up Petaluma on our way back home. Ever heard of Petaluma Pie Company? Me either. Next time you’re headed to Dillon Beach or Bodega, take the short detour. It’s worth it, promise!! We tried the Bacon + Egg and a sweet chocolate cream. Yummm.
Cream sodas were the reward for these ever so patient travelers. You have no idea. They deserved ever 48 grams of sugar in those things. Tall cans for us, obvi.
We stopped at this cool-ass bbq/catering/convenience store, Lombardi’s. Smoke was pilling out of all the smokers and bbq’s in front of the store. We watched in awe (like the kids watching the balloons) as this dude cooked chicken + tri-tip + oysters….you name it. For sure another spot I will go back too when I’m in the neighborhood.
Bathroom stop naps. #sofakingtired. I kinda wanted to join them. A bottle of wine the night before and 3am wake-up is not my jam.
Big thanks Truitt’s for the fun adventure. Can’t wait for our next one. This time I’ll mapquest beforehand 🙂
To my surprise, while we were off on our adventure, my rad parents did this. Not only did they re-plant my flowerbeds, they did red + white + blue plants. It’s a tradition this time of year. Just in time for the 4th of July Bike Parade this weekend. They even mowed and edged my yard. This B was a very happy B. Thank you Mom + Dad for being so thoughtful. This surprise seriously made my day 🙂 #myparentsarecoolerthanyours
SUNDAY
We spent Father’s Day morning doing what my dad loves. Riding dirt bikes with the kids. Argyll MX Park is where they like to ride.
See Bailey’s cute little signature above. I had to Snap it 🙂
after 30 laps around the kids track, this girl was pooped.
As they would say #ridered
Bloody Mary + Shirley Temple Cheers at Bud’s afterwards. Hope all the dads out there had a fab day and were spoiled rotten. You all deserve it!
KOOL-AID HAIR COLOR
We died Bay’s hair with Kool-Aid. It totally works. I saw a tutorial last week and thought, why the hell not. It’s summer. Every girl needs pink hair.
I pull the top layer of her hair up. We only colored the underneath layer. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out so I thought better safe than sorry.
It’s crazy simple.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- old t-shirt
- old towel
- 1 packet Kool-Aid (use 2 for dark hair)
- 2 cups water
- bowl
- brush
- blow dryer
- flat iron
We chose the black cherry flavor.
This works best on freshly washed hair that is completely dry. Use an elastic hair tie to pull up the top layer or any hair that you do not want died. As you can see, we only colored the bottom layer of Bay’s hair. Make sure to be wearing an old t-shirt and have an old towel handy. You may also want to wear gloves. My finger tips were a little stained.
Combine Kool-Aid packet(s) and water in a pot and heat on until boiling. Boil for 1 minute and remove from heat. Pour mixture into a heat resistant bowl. Dip hair about 1 inch into the liquid. Keep in mind that the color will creep up the hair strands. Let hair set in mixture for about 15 minutes. Carefully ring out hair with an old towel.
Blow dry hair. Then flat iron to set the color. Style as normal.
Remember this is not permanent hair color, but depending on the hair, it could last for up to 1 week.
Next time I will be a little more daring. Maybe even use two packets….haha.
Have a great week and come back!
xoxo stacyb
Lauren wants to dye her hair and I want to go to the balloon festival 🙂 what a great weekend with pals too!
You should try it – would look super cute on your blondie 🙂
