It’s finally FRIDAY! You guys, I knew it was happening, I let it happen. Last week was a complete shit show. HA! I planned it that way, of course. But, hot damn – I’m exhausted. Straight up overstimulated! I cannot wait to put my butt on the beach + enjoy the weekend with my family!!

But, first – I got some stuff on my mind……

ONE – Park Winters Summerland // Yesterday, I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon at Park Winters Summerland. My first influencer event. It was nothing short of magical! Great people. Amazing vendors. Delicious cocktails (still devastated I wasn’t able to stay for dinner) Beautiful venue! I’ll be sharing more next week! BIG THANK you Park Winters for inviting little ol me 🙂

And I absolutely LOVED all the messages saying “yay, you wore the dress” it reassures me you guys actually read what I write 🙂 And yes, I had to wear THE dress!

TWO – Mrs. Chase Letter // I finally got to cleaning out all the end of school year paperwork and whatnot. Digging through papers, I found an envelope addressed to Bailey. She opened it. Read it. Tears rolling down her cheeks. Then I read it. Also with tears rolling down my cheeks. What a great reminder of how much we LOVE Plainfield Elementary School + Mrs. Chase, Bay’s kindergarten teacher 7 years ago! #plainfieldmustang forever ♥

THREE – Seka Hills Fireworks // My second time visiting Seka Hills this week!!! Such a treat! Last night was the annual Seka Hills Family. Fun. Food. Fireworks. 💥 It’s exactly that. All our friends. Arts + Crafts for the kids. A photo booth even. Chando’s Tacos…yumm! And for the grand finale, the best firework show in our area!

{summer tops under $40}

I’m the self-proclaimed Queen of Summer Tops! Ha! Once you’ve got your key bottom pieces: black denim + white denim + the perfect fit denim + cut-off’s! You’re set! You can rotate your bottoms all year-long with a cute top. I am always on the hunt for tee’s + tops + peplums + tanks….you name it. Since I’m constantly adding tops, price tag is KEY!

So, today I’ve rounded up TWENTY SIX tops under $40. Some I own. Some are on their way to my doorstep. Some are on the ol wish-list.

Let’s start with this Bow Tank Top I tried it on in the white. Thought, nahhh – I need a color. Spotted the navy. SOLD! At $19.50, you really can’t beat it! And it looks great with white denim + cut-offs + my fave jeans. You’ll be seeing this heavily rotated this summer!

{watermelon bruschetta}

Tuesday! Only Tuesday. And my epic to-do list isn’t getting any smaller. But, I watermelon bruschetta leftovers in my fridge, so it’s all good!

When you’ve got a shit-ton of watermelon and don’t know what to do with it! Make something sweet + savory. My personal fav.

So perfect for the summer months.

I’m not a huge watermelon fan whatsoever. But, I was doing my weekly Trader Joe’s chard + healthy shit run, and they were serving watermelon salad. Paired with a rosé, which is what really got my initial attention. The TJ’s chick promised me (after proclaiming my detest for watermelon) that I would indeed love this sample. In my defense, she asked me and when I said No, thank you, she wouldn’t take it. Ha!

She was right, I actually really liked it!

Have you ever seen that many peeps posted on Dillon Beach? Me either. I’ve never endured that kind of traffic either! EVERYONE and their mother’s headed to the coast to beat the heat!

I pulled this crab net and let me tell you, it was heavy AF! No wonder! It was also full AF!

First time we’ve caught all Dungeness crab. Last time we only pulled rock crab.

Watching the sunset in Jenner, CA

Dinner at River’s End. Everytime we pass this restaurant I always say some day I want to stop. But there is NEVER any parking. Which must mean this place is legit.

There just to happen to be 1 spot. So we stopped! Bucket list CHECK! √

River’s End is perched on a bluff overlooking the Russian River where it greets the Pacific Ocean. It’s fucking magical!

Oh and the chard, it was fantastic too!

I didn’t take any photos of our food other than the butter, ha! As you can see, even the butter had amazing presentation. The food was to die for! I read that they prefer you save your phones + photos for the outdoors. Once I read that, I obliged. It was really hard though…lol.

The views from this place were seriously out of a magazine.

We set up camp at Casini Ranch. The ONLY campground with a spot left. Like I said, the amount of peeps at the coast was absolutely unreal!

Homeward bound lead us through Occidental. Which I’ve been to once. After a girls trip to the Happy Hideout. I think it was the time we left Bodega and stopped for breakfast? I got violently ill. I belive it was a possible case of the bottle flu. So this quant little town looked pretty new to me 🙂

Pit stop for Michelada’s + breakfast burritos at El Mariachi Cafe. Total dive Mexican restaurant, but their food was bomb.com

We went though Sepastopol, which I’d also never visited. Such a cute town. I want to spend more time and dig in to all it has to offer.

We took every back road we could find. Which lead us to another spot I’ve always wanted to stop at…..The Fremont Diner.

This place has been on my radar since Gal Meets Glam blogged about it back in March 2016,

I had no idea what I got myself into. I needed about 2 hours to check this whole place out. That cute trailer is where you place to-go orders.

I highly recommend the peanut butter shake!

Well, Bay + I are hooked. We’ve been doing the quick 15 minute Pilates workout together every night. The best part, well it’s FREE. The next best part, you need NOTHING. And it’s totally made for anyone + everyone, which I love. Check it out. You’ll dig it. It’s a good quick workout you can do before bed. Or anytime of the day.

THREE – Watermelon // How to cut a watermelon into sticks. Have you done it before? It’s super easy and I feel like we waste so much less melon this way.

Cut the watermelon in half horizontally

Place both halves flesh down on the cutting board

Cut 1 inch slices across the melon

Rotate cutting board and cut 1 inches slices (perpendicular)

And there you have it! Watermelon sticks!

Summer’s here! Which means it’s time to take a deep breath and savor everything the season has to offer. In your happy place. Whether that means sitting by the ocean. Camping under the stars. Sipping rosé in your own backyard. Dinning al fresco. Gardening!

You know I love a good seasonal to-do list by now. I couldn’t be more excited to write down ALL THE THINGS we’re planning to try out this summer.

Because in the end, memories aren’t made by sitting around waiting for them to happen, but from when you get out and live.

Xhilaration Crochet Top Tie Dye Maxi Dress

Hey friends! You know when you have that week (or in my case weeks) where nothing goes smoothly? You stay up late over thinking. Or watching + reading about the border separations. Which makes you wayyy too tried to hit the 5 am gym time? Then you eat like shit, drink wayy too much, start breaking out, act like a total bitch and feel bad for yourself? That’s basically been me for the last two weeks. Then you go to Target and buy a new dress to make yourself feel better? It works, don’t get me wrong. It really does the trick for me. Temporarily. This dress I’m wearing right here? I picked this up on one of my many shop your feelings away days. HA! I’m not looking for sympathy what so ever! It’s life! I’m totally fine!

So, on Friday, I chatted a for a sec about the book I’m currently hooked on, Girl, Go Wash Your Face! Thanks to this book, I feel SO MUCH BETTER!

I know your rolling your eyes right now. I did too! Every time I heard someone praise this book.

Then the library sent me an alert that the audio book I requested MONTHSSSSS ago, was available for pick up.

Popped it in the CD player while still parked in front of the Woodland Public Library. And the rest is history. Haven’t turned it off since.

{caprese asparagus}

I’ve got a quick + easy side dish for you today. Not only is it absolutely delicious, but it’s absolutely beautiful too. Raise your hand if you’re totally obsessed with caprese salad! Or caprese anything really. I have a vision of a caprese burger. Yumm, right? Thinking about trying it out this week.

Caprese consists of a few simple ingredients. Mozzarella cheese. Tomatoes. Basil. That’s the main components.

But, you know I can’t just leave it at that. Always gotta jazz it up a bit.

Kinda like my {caprese egg cups} I shared a couple of weeks ago.

So, how about asparagus? It’s in season and inexpensive right now.

Topped with a balsamic glaze. Hell yeah!

I just realized I’ve never shared my baked caprese before. OMG! Clearly I’ve been holding out on you guys.

Next time you’re having guests over or asked to bring a side dish, MAKE THIS! Super easy. Ingredient you can’t go wrong with. And look at it….it’s pretty AF!

I used my fave Seka Hills products to make this. Their newest Tribal Blend Extra Virgin Olive Oil. (So, so good) Wildflower Honey. (Bay eats this straight from the jar) Which both came in the June wine club bundle. And the Fig Balsamic Vinegar. My personal fave of the three they offer.

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Ours was everything I’d hoped for. Super chill with a perfect mix of friends + family. Exploring + pizza! Ha! A dream, really!

Intentions for the Week:

~~Visit Mezger Zinnia Patch + take flowers to GG~~ – (they still look beautiful)
~~Clean out my work tote – so much shit!~~ – (just throw it away #moto)
~~Set a pretty Mexican themed table~~ – (almost done)
~~Share asparagus caprese recipe~~ – (did anyone try it yet?) {caprese asparagus}
~~Organize + clean out the garage~~ – (still impressed with the results and also, just throw it away came into play)
~~Edible flower ice cubes~~ – (roses + lavender + lemons + rosemary…stay tuned)
~~Labor Day camping trip~~ – (we booked Lake Francis and it looks like a fun spot)
~~Dinner with girlfriends~~ – (always a good time with my gals)
~~Hang out at home~~ – (the dvr is empty + house is clean + meal prep is done)
~~Workout…no excuses!~~ – (almost killed it, except for Friday but I’ll take it)
