{tomatillo salsa + crispy cheese taco shells}

It’s Taco Tuesday friends!  Other than Friday, Tuesday is a pretty close runner-up to a favorite day of the week.  The Taco part.  Not the Tuesday part.

Who doesn’t love Taco Tuesday?

You guys, stop what you’re doing and read these easy recipes to take your Taco Tuesday from the same ol thang to WOW, that was  Ha.

This salsa is from my homegril Lisa at Salty Lashes.  She doesn’t know we’re homegirls yet.  I’ve made a few of her recipes and they are always easy, fresh and yumm.

G♥♥d Morning!  I woke up ready to kill it this week.  That doesn’t always happen, so I’m fully embracing it.  What a whirlwind of a weekend.  So many highlights.  So many good times.  So many sugar highs.  Hope you had a good one too.

Let’s start with the intentions…….

Intentions for the week:

  • Get my camera repaired.  Any suggestions where to go?  Locally?
  • Figure out how to add the recipe print option to the blogComing soon!!!
  • Squeeze my girl extra tight – ♥
  • Figure out WTF is wrong with our Netflix
  • Don’t hit “place order” a single time this week. #onlineshoppingproblems – (Epic FAIL!)
  • Make a turkey bolognese.  Over zoodles 🙂
  • Drop off donation pile
  • Lunch date with girlfriends
  • Finish/send last thank you cards
  • Call for online price adjustments!  Always do this friends! – I got back over $50!!

Last weeks intentions: {weekend notes}

Highlights from the weekend…..

Friday nights are for pizza //

Unless you are dieting.

I had a bite…not even going to lie.  I mean, look at it.  How do you say NO to that?

You don’t!

Taking pictures of them

taking pictures of their heart hands ♥

We hopped on Yolo Pedicab for a ride up and down Main Street.

If you have a chance, do it.  I believe they are out mainly on the weekends.  Busy weekends.  I messaged them via instagram and they called me right back.  Great customer service.

Country music cruisin’

Saturdayzzz //

When you wake up at 4am….

you watch movies and make a candlelit breakfast.  Obvi.

Home Again is such a cute movie.

Reese Witherspoon, a single mother of 2 girls living allows three young guys to move into her guest house.  She falls for one of the studs.  Her girls totally dig them.  Then she kicks them out.

That’s just a quick run though, but worth watching when you’re in the mood for a cute, easy movie.

Homemade bagels.  They turned out so good.  I even sent one to my official recipe taster (aka my Mom) for her input.  I little tweak and I will be sharing this week!  Stay tuned for this super easy recipe.

Breakfast for two!

Yogurt parfait

Cinnamon Rolls

Homemade bagels

With a side of chocolate milk in wine glasses.

Diggin in

Bay said it felt like she was on a date 🙂

Glee re-runs + french braids

DOCO: Downtown Commons.  Formerly known as Sacramento Downtown Plaza.  I had to google that shit.  DOCO just doesn’t sound right to me, but whatev’s.

The DOCO security robot is different.  Also had to google WTF it is…lol.  The girls dug it.

Punch Bowl Social //

We went to see what all the hype was about.

Food + bar + bowling + arcade + everything in between…..

Features Include: 8 bowling lanes, VR, 2 bocce courts, shuffleboard, 80’s arcade, billiards, giant scrablle, 2 karaoke rooms, bonzini, foosball, photo booth

Old Man Cans

As recommended, we made reservations for a table.  We actually didn’t even need reservations, but I can see where you would on a busy night.  We did find a table + arcade to hang at while we waited for a bowling lane.

All and all, I’d say this place has potential of being a fun spot to hang.  I was unsure how it all happens, so I think next time we’ll dive in and check everything out.

Their menu looks good….different, but good.

Other than the adult milkshakes (who orders that shit?) their drinks were good too.

Museum of Ice Cream //

I scream,

You scream,

We all scream for Ice Cream.

Santa brought Bay two tickets to the Museum of Ice Cream.  She opted for “experiences” over toys + other gifts this year.  I love it.  She loves it too.  Christmas morning she isn’t flooded with packages, which I wasn’t sure she’d be into.  Once she saw that Santa left Museum of Ice Cream tickets and I got her Safari West tickets…she was all about it.  We checked out Safari West just a couple of days after Christmas.  It was unbelievably cool and deserves it’s very own post…hopefully next week.

Ok, back to the Museum of Ice Cream……

Car selfies

Sooo cool

As we entered our tour guide offered pictures of everyone.  I dig it.

Pink everything.  Bay blended in perfectly 🙂

I was expecting a flood of peeps.  Crowding.

Not at all.

You’re in a group of 15 people.  Together you come up with a ridiculous team name.

Sprinkle-licous Bubblegum Buddies

Once you pass the second room, after the Ice Cream Vault,

You’re free to go at your own pace.

I’d say there are about 8 rooms.  This is considered a walking forward museum.  Meaning, you can’t backtrack.  Once you leave a room, you cannot return.  So peeps definitely take their time.

Bay and I were done in about 1 hr. 15 min.  from start to finish.  And we never felt rushed.

Why you look so pissed Bay?

Bay got so many complements on her hot pink fur….

Girls’ faux-fur coat

Let’s be real….

This place is 90% about the gram’

10% about the ice cream

This place is what Ice Cream dreams are made of.

Mary’s Dinner serves Spinkle Pool ice cream.  Cake batter with sprinkles of fizzy cotton candy.

Bay asked for seconds.

{friday 5}

Hello Friends and Happy Friday!  Typing Happy Friday never get’s old.  So ready for the weekend.  We’ve got so much good shit planned.  Museum of Ice Cream.  Bay get’s her 4-H pig.  A little shopping.  Lots of relaxing.  Friend time.  Pumped!

First, I’ve got 5 things on my mind…..

ONE – Philz Coffee // Finally a Philz in my hood.  This place makes me think of my homegirl Zeb in San Diego.  She turned me onto Philz last year when I was visiting.  The coffee is delish and I love how unique the flavors are.  Today I grabbed a Tesora: medium blend with caramel, butter + nut aromas.  Yumm!

Random shit

{a little of this + a little of that}

Change of plans.  My regular scheduled post was about 2018 intentions.  Decided to scratch that.  At least for today.  I just wasn’t feelin it.

So, I’ll just dump a little this + a little of that on you today…..

The photo above is old.  But, I like it.  Can’t remember what happened, I just remember laughing for a long time.  And laughing is my favorite.  And she’s my favorite.  And that’s why I love this picture ♥

Bay is leaving me for a whole week.  Longest we’ve ever been apart.  It hit me HARD today as I was buying her summer clothes for her Hawaii trip.  WTF will I do for 1 whole week?  Call me, K??

I gathered a bunch of little treats + surprises that I’m going to stash in Bay’s carry-on for the flight.  Such a cute idea I stole from Salty Lashes 🙂

Pretty sure I better get addicted to a new Nexflix show during that week to pass the time.  Anyone have suggestions?  I keep hearing Peaky Blinders is so good.

Why did I give up wine for the month of January again?

20 days to go.  Not that I’m keeping track of anything.

My homegirl #chardsohard partner in crime started a blog this week.  Check it out….Nikki.JustNikki

{slow cooker butternut squash soup}

Give me a “Hell Yeah” if you’re as excited as I am that break is over.  So ready to get back to our regularly scheduled routine + LIFE.

Longest winter break ever!  Even Bay was missing school and her homies.

And how is it only Wednesday?  Feels like it should for sure be Friday by now, right?

Dropped these pretty girls off at school and ready to finish off the rest of the week!! Impatiently awaiting FRIDAY!

Anyone else craving warm creamy soups right about now?  But, not with tons of cream + unhealthy shit?  You’ll never believe it?  I’ve got one for you 🙂

And it’s a slow cooker recipe, which is always welcome in my house.  One dirty dish!  Prep + pop in the slow cooker + go do yo thang.  Come back to dinner ready.

Kaia friendly + vegan + Gluten-free + healthy AF!

It’s healthy and so good.  Just ask my Mama!

She’s my healthy recipe taster.  I always leave a Tupperware (with toppings in a ziplock on top)  and call my Mom and tell her I’ve got something BOMB for her to taste.

I like a second opinion when I dig a recipe.

And let’s be real, Bay is NO help with it comes to anything with the word squash in it…lol.

{friday 5}

Happy Friday, friends!  The first Friday of the new year.  Today I turn 36 years young.  Ha!  Although, I woke up feeling old AF.  I’ve spent the majority of this week equally parts overwhelmed and motivated.  I’m all for fresh starts and kicking the year off on a high note, but it can be a little overwhelming at times too.  I’ve got goals.  BIG ideas.  Too many to process.  Hope you all have a great Friday and even better weekend!

I’ve got 5 things on my mind……

ONE – 36 // Oh Fuck I’m turning 36!!  BIG thank you for all the phones calls + text messages + emails + FB shout outs + dinner dates.  Everyone keeps asking me what my big plans are….NOTHING!  Dinner with friends + family.  Relaxing.  Meal prep for the week.  Little online shopping.  Shoot, I may even take my happy ass into Nordstrom?!?!  Who knows.

TWO – 2018 Resolutions Printable // The topic of the week…..RESOLUTIONS!  Love them or hate them?  Really don’t like the word resolution.  Let’s call them goals.  Or intentions.  Doesn’t that sound better?  I think so too.  I’m working on mine as I type.  More on that next week.  But, how fun + cute is this 2018 “Goals” printable?

I will be adding my word of the year.  Love that idea!

Never a truer word been spoken!

You guys, I have NEVER been this sore.  In my life.  Every single body part is crying.  Happy tears!  I’m so incredibly happy to be back with the 5am ers.

I have so many goals + plans for the next 5 weeks.  Don’t worry, I’m gonna tell you all about them!  Ha!

{jcrew sale}

Tell me I’m not the only one……

As soon as December is over, Winter season is officially DEAD to me.  I’m beyond ready for what’s next.  Spring.  Sunshine.

You’re the same?

Okay good!

I’ve also vowed to not purchase another Winter clothing item.  Not a single one.

Well, maybe except for some new denim.  But, that’s year round so it really doesn’t count.  I’ve got my eye on a couple of Madewell pairs.  Decisions, Decisions.

Today, as I was doing my daily J.Crew scroll, I found so much cute shit.

Cute Spring/Summer items.  On SUPER SALE!  They are last season.  But I don’t GAF!  (google it)

If you too have singed off Winter…keep reading.  I’m going to show you whats good and very inexpensive at J.Crew today January 10th!  That’s like a whole week to debate and pull the tiger.

LOTS of sleeveless beware.  Throw it under a cardigan or blazer till Spring and get all kinds of wear!

Use code: NEWYEAR for up to 40% off all sale items.

Velvet tank top

$32.99 (originally $70)

I’ve had this tank in my shopping cart FOREVER, but not willing to pay $70 for a tank top.  Guess how much I paid?  $3.04!!  Swear!

I’m thinking this under a blazer till it gets hot AF and I can wear it come Spring with white denim and shorts.

If you made any J.Crew purchases over the holidays, there would have been a flyer for an additional 15% off.  These are stackable!  Meaning – you can use this on top of the NEWYEAR promo.

Now go home and search through all your J.Crew online order bags!

Oh and this tank also comes in black + copper rose + vintage gold!  Choosing a color was a hard task.  Now let’s just hope I love it as much as I want to!

Tie-shoulder eyelet top

$14.99 (originally $88)

I have a thing for eyelet.  Tie-shoulders are super cute too!  Great reviews and comes in ivory + lavender.
