I’m waiting for you, 5 pm!!

We’ve got a super chill weekend planned.  Or should I say unplanned?  Pool time + friends + family.  Just how a summer weekend should be spent!

It’s Friday and I’ve got 5 things on my mind today……..

ONE – Look what happened last week.  Bailey learned how to mow the lawn.  It’s the best thing since sliced bread.  Get this – she asked me to teach her.  And she offered to take care of it every week from now on.  Yessss!!  Then she reminded me, only for 8 more years.  Damn it.  Crazy thing is, I never touched a lawn mower till I was in my late 20’s.  Haha.  I love this girl and her enthusiasm to help out around the house and take on more chores.  Of course, for a little added weekly allowance.

TWO – Leather scalloped trim.  A feminine take on a classic tank.  Thank you J.Crew.  You fucking killed it!  You need to get your hands on one of these tanks asap.  Trust me!!  You cannot pass it up, especially when you see the price tag.

Kaia Fit Risky Business, that is.  I’m 5 workouts into this CORE session and I’m absolutely LOVING it!  I swear it’s all my mindset.  My mind and my body are on the same page for the first time in a long time.  It’s pretty amazing what you can get done when your head is in the game too.   The workouts have been hard AF.  My shirt drenched.  My muscles are so sore they are screaming at me all before 6am.

Wondering what this CORE session is all about?  Here ya go……

This IS Risky Business, Ladies! Which means it’s time to check in with where you are in life and prepare to make some changes. Maybe it isn’t time for a major overhaul right now, but there’s no doubt there are a few things you’d like alter, tidy up or polish a bit. So why not take the LEAP OF A LIFETIME when you know you have a team of women behind you who will celebrate your victories and have your back when you need a little extra support. Begin by promising yourself one thing. As you get started on your list of “leaps”, focus only on positive outcomes. This is a time to forget about roadblocks and possible failures (and there will be failures, FOR SURE) and keep your eye on your successes, the end game and the prize. Remembering too, there is no final destination here, only the journey and every step of the way should be embraced and enjoyed!

My list of risk’s I’m taking are just a little to personal to share right now.  Maybe as I conquer them I will feel a little more inclined to share?  We shall see!

{mom’s broccoli salad}

The classic broccoli salad.  Everyone’s had a version of this salad before.  Some with grapes.  Some with almonds.  I’ve seen so many different varieties.  But this one – it’s sweet, salty + crunchy.   A house favorite, for sure.  My Mom has been making it for years.  It holds up well for leftovers too.  Not the healthiest.  Put a scoop over your greens and your set.  Ps….it’s addicting!!!

Happy Monday!  The weekend came and left in a flash.  But, it’s all good.  It’s a good week to have a good week.

New week.

New Goals.

We’ve got this!!

Friday I headed to Lake Tahoe with a couple of my favorite ladies.  It’s our 3rd year attending the Celebrity Golf Tournament.  We have stories and crazy memories from the last two years that still keep us laughing our asses off.  This year was no different:)

I pulled off HWY 50 to show the girls Bridal Veil Falls.  In the 34 years I’ve traveled to Tahoe, I’ve always admired this waterfall.  It’s small but beautiful.  Water cascades over the mountain year round.  My sister stopped a couple of weeks ago to show me for the 1st time….and now I want to stop every time to admire it.

Hello-Friday.png

Good new – It’s finally FRIDAY!  I’m getting out of town to beat the heat (105 degrees to be exact) this weekend.  Considering who I’m going with and meet up with, it’s bound to be a pretty amazing weekend.  Hope you all have a fun, slighly relaxing, cool weekend too!!

5 things on my mind today……

ONE – If you follow me on Snapchat, then you saw this snap from Sunday.  I can take zero credit for this dish.  I did nothing to contribute.  Bailey +  my Mom whipped up this Italian Drunken Noodles recipe.  It was so damn good.  I wasn’t even hungry and devoured my whole plate in about 3 minutes.  You know me, when I find/try a bomb dish – then I’m for sure going to share it with my peeps.  These drunken noodles have a light, perfectly spicy flavor that I’m still thinking about.  And pappardelle noodles are amazing.  I have to admit, I’ve never cooked with them before and my 9-year-old has…lol.  Try this recipe out and let me know if you love it as much as we did!!

TWO – Remember how I said I went baaaccckkkk to GAP?   Check out these cute tops I scooped up ALL for under $15 each.  Use code: HAPPY for 40% off.  Gotta love a good deal.  Shoot, I might even go back next week too.  Just keepin it real 🙂

Thanks to GAP, we got our twinning game back on fleek!!

Bailey pointed out the other morning that we had matching outfits.  We kinda love it when that happens.  So, I had to write a post about it.

A take on the popular term “winning,” it refers to identical thoughts or behavior, as well as to brilliance.
Person 1: “Uh, we’re wearing the same sweater?”
Person 2: “TWINNING!!”

{10 things I want my daughter to know before she turns 10}

View More: http://emilytidwellphotography.pass.us/glitter-bailey

This morning I got all the images back from Bailey’s glitter photo session with Emily Tidwell Photography.  Between that and planning the BIG 1-0 birthday party next month, I have all these crazy mom emotions.  Bailey will officially be in the double digits.  Shit just got real!  33 days left of the single digits….FOREVER.  Why is this such a big deal to me?  Maybe because she also reminded me that she is moving out in 8 years.  EIGHTS years!!  Yes, you heard me right.  Then I came across this Huffington Post article and I had to share it.  Bailey wont read this.  Possibly ever.  It just hit home and I wanted to share with all my momma friends that could or are feeling the same damn way today!!

haha – for reals though.  Sounds like fun to me!  Can’t wait to celebrate with my #dirtyYaya530 ladies tonight!!!

5 things on my mind this Friday…….

ONE – Pokémon GO is a real thing guys.  I’ve seen it on the news.  Read about the tragedies.  Seen it in real life.  Main Street in Woodland is PokémonGo central.  I was so blown away to see all the grown ass adults just standing there, waiting for Pikachu to appear.   At least, I think that’s what they do?  Bailey + Ben were just as curious as I was so…..I downloaded the app.  Haha, I really did.  Then asked one of the Poké-dudes in Heritage Plaza to show us what to do.  I’m not 100%, but I think we got 2?  Is that even how you say it?  Anyway, I get it – it’s the new trendy game and peeps are hooked.  But, you won’t be seeing me driving off the road or running into traffic to “get” Pickachu.

TWO – I already ordered Bailey’s backpack.  Crazy, right?  Can you believe school starts in 38 days?  Bailey loves the Pottery Barn backpacks.  Or maybe it’s me?  I guess it’s all she’s ever had.  So, yes – I love pottery barn backpacks.  They hold up and wash well.  I scored this years backpack for $12.99.  Swear!  Free shipping and 20% off last week.  It sealed the deal for me.

Check out Pottery Barn Teen today.  All backpacks are reduced and for a limited time you can even get free shipping using code: SUMMER.  Get on it mama’s and score a good deal.

Yolo County Backpacks for Kids //  I absolutely LOVE this organization.  If you’re a homie, then you already received an email from me.  If you’re not familiar with BPFK, here’s a little more info:
The MISSION of Yolo County Backpacks for Kids is to provide new backpacks and school supplies to children and schools in need throughout Yolo County.
For the last nine years, through the generosity of Yolo County residents, businesses and leaders, over 9,000 children whose families had insufficient resources to buy school supplies have received the necessary materials to start the school year properly equipped and prepared to learn.
You can also check out their website here – Yolo County Backpacks for Kids
Can you believe that 9,000 children received backpacks through this organization, that otherwise would have gone to the first day of school with NOTHING!?!?  Last year, with the help of my family + friends, we donated 39 filled backpacks, TONS of extra supplies and cash donations.  Let’s do it again friends!!  Let’s do even more this year!!
This was from last year…….
A huge thank you to Stacy and Bailey Brown who along with friends and family donated 39 filled backpacks and provided funds to buy more! This is the second year that these wonderful people have donated to help our local kids start the school year right!
