SATURDAY //
6 am comes fast on swim meet mornings. I was up bright and early to get the perfect spot for the pop-up. I love Woodland Wreckers energy. It’s always a morning well spent. A hot and sweaty morning, that is. It was hot AF. I really wanted to write F%#$, but one of my new goals is to watch my f bombs. That’s a whole other story we will have to touch on later.
That’s my girl in the first lane. I’m screaming KICK KICK KICK! GOOOOO Bay!
Saturday evening my Mom was honored. I was honored to be a part of it. My mom’s besties threw her a gorgeous retirement party. Can you believe that my Mom has worked at WJUSD since she was 16? Crazy, right? Well, as of Friday, July 1st – she is retired. WHOOP WHOOP! After 39 years with the Woodland Joint Unified School District – it’s a wrap. I’m so incredibly happy for her.
These are the wonderful women behind this great night. They worked their tails off and it really showed. Every little detail was something that made you think of Mom. From the flowers, to the decor. To the wine (duh) and the Grammy Slammers (signature drink). And we can’t forget the amazing slide show that featured photos we all gathered from her younger years to now. It was close to 1 hour-long. I could sit a reminisce about each one as to where we were, what we were doing, where we were going and explaining why we had a beer or wine in our hands in 1/2 of them…lol. The guests that all had something great to say.

Friday 5 is live……
ONE – Bailey did a Glitter Photo session last night with Emily Tidwell Photography. Hands down the cutest most girly photo session we’ve ever done. Picture gold glitter everywhere. A nine-year old girls dream come true, right? I literally can’t wait for the sneak peek to see how insanely adorable they turned out.
TWO – Mohawk braid // Bailey found this on the gram and is begging me to make her braid dreams come true. We really NEED a braid bar in town. I would pay, like a lot. This mama cannot braid, at all. It’s sad. My poor girly-girl gets a twist, ponytail or flat ironed. That is the extent of my hair-do’s. This however is super rad and I really want to get my girls hair done just like this for her 10th birthday. Better get to google, you only turn 10 once!!!
It’s officially summer peeps! And this above is just how I like my summers. Life gets better, that’s for sure. Did anyone catch the full moon last night? I was kind of expecting something a little more exciting…but, it was beautiful. Once again weekend notes are late…..
FRIDAY
I got to spend the evening with my “high school” girlfriends. Some of them I didn’t even go to high school with..lol. I think that’s my way of referring to the bitches I’ve been friends with FOR-EV-ER. We did graduate 16 years ago. Shit. Missing a few of them though. We need a reunion with Rachel + Zeb + Stover too. Dang, that would be trouble. Maybe Rachel’s parents will let us have a kegger for old time sake? Haha.
Not only did I get to catch up with my girlfriends, but our kiddos got to tag along too.

I was running late this morning. Typical. Bailey of course was ready and waiting in the car. Most likely recording her 86th musically video of the week (she’s obsessed). I was a total bitch. Again, typical. I didn’t pack lunches last night. Decided to drink wine and watch Southern Charm instead. Our Farm Fresh To You produce shipment was on the porch, full of ants. To top it off, I’m having a really bad hair day…FUCK.

Happy Monday. Cheers to a new week! How was your weekend? I kicked it hard. Celebrated national rose day, obvi. Brunched with my girls. Pool date with friends. Went to the movies. It was great. Now off to kick this Monday’s ass!
Hi guys! Took a couple of weeks off to re-group. Take some me time. Figure some shit out. Slow down. Hang some twinkle lights. Everyone keeps asking if I quit blogging. Of course not. Not sure I’ll be blogging every day, like before. (You have no idea how time-consuming blogging can be). I do plan to hop on to share recipes + cool shit I find + rad ideas, you know – all that good stuff.
I actually wrote this post Sunday and for some reason it took me till today to hit “publish.” I kept thinking, maybe wait one more week? Then I decided today, fuck it. Wait for what? So, here ya go….{weekend notes} kinda late. If you know me, then you know I’m ALWAYS late. So it totally works…..
Saturday my girl had her first swim meet of the year. It was a home meet, thank god. I set up our pop-up tent and chairs at 6 am. And the space was already limited that early in the morning. Crazy!
